Today, I'm sharing a fake anti-lag mod for Assetto Corsa.
A few words about the mod:
This mod, triggered by the "extraF" button, simulates the engine rpm pulsation known in an anti-lag system and reproduces the sounds of pops and bangs from the car's exhaust. The shots sounds are handled by a Lua script and do not require modification of the SFX content of the modified car. Each of the sounds can be swapped out and customized according to your preferences. If you use more advanced sound settings on your computer or want to check if and how this mod works, download the free version of the "Start engine and ignition" mod.
The mod I'm providing is not universal, meaning that each car requires individual tuning of the rpm at which a particular sound appears. The scripts are described as best as I could, and hints to facilitate tuning have also been included in the package.
Huge thanks to Kareem for the video materials demonstrating the operation of the Anti-lag system in his Nissan. Thanks to his help, many of you can now enjoy this interesting addition.
