Falling in Love with Audiobooks |  

Yay someone else who listens to audiobooks when they exercise - I always listened to audiobooks in the gym when I was a regular goer. I can focus on one long narrative and not feel compelled to give up on the machine I'm on too early ^_^

I always listen to audiobooks when I go to the gym. Otherwise I get so bored!

I am an audio book listener. I listen while cleaning, driving, biking, walking, going to sleep.....I love audio. Helps me "read" the books I want to get in but can't because I don't actually have the time to sit down and read.

They have a few Diana Wynne Jones books on there! Listen to them, definitely absolutely. They were the books that defined magic and imagination for me. I wouldn't forget them or miss them for the world.

I have become obsessed with audiobooks as well. So smart for using your dead-time smartly. Now I can read while working, walking, taking the bus and while working out. I use an app called Storytel.

I love audiobooks as well. I have a really bad visual impairment. So audiobooks are a very big part of my life. I do love print books as well. :-)

Apart from what you're getting sent to read what are you stumbling upon? Those are the most interesting things to hear about, where your interests take your reading.

Haha I totally get what you're saying - whenever I'm running and listening to some up-beat songs, they never have the exact same rhythm so I always kind of subconsciously adjust my pace to the song that's currently playing and then it changes again and it's just all over the place. I've never listened to audiobooks, though. Will have to try it :)

I recently read the girl on the train and that was amazing! Also handmaids tale by Margaret Atwood is very interesting

I love audiobooks! I highly recommend the book 'Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe' It's incredible! And I think you'd enjoy it maybe probably idk

Ah I'm so excited! I've been trying find a non amazon affiliated audiobook app and this looks perfect!

I listen to audiobooks as well, when I run. More often I do music, though because I think it requires less brain power to just tune in and out of music.

Thanks for the recommendations! I use Audible in the States but am on the lookout for apps and tips. I've got two bookcases full of physical books I want to read, but I have had a condition for a few years now that makes it hard for me to hold or look at books. Though I miss the visual aspect of learning, audiobooks have made it possible for me to keep reading. | I like to listen to soundtracks or play the Zombies Run app while jogging. Audiobooks are better for me when I'm doing stuff around the house. I just can't concentrate on the story while running! But as the consistent pace of being read to aloud helps you jog, it helps me draw and paint. | Some of my favorite audiobooks are The Red Necklace (the UK version audiobook) by Sally Gardner and the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith. Have you had a chance to listen to them?

I've tried to get into audiobooks but I find I end up getting distracted and losing where I was and what's happening in a book!

They're also working on a German version, yay! I love audiobooks in theory but if I don't like the voice of the person who's reading then nope, sorry, can't listen to it. Does that ever happen to you? :O
