When you said 'one of my favourite authors' I somehow immediately knew it was Patrick Ness! Looking forward to reading Release, when I actually have time again. I really enjoyed Ness' Class series, his teenage characters are always well portrayed.
Funny that you mentioned that Nathan and Vee were like Romeo and Juliet because Blackman says that it was a rewriting of Othello! But I agree with you, their love story has some Romeo and Juliet characteristics! I also did a review on it on my channel! :)
Release sounds so interesting! I have a complicated relationship with Patrick Ness books, but that sounds like one I'd really enjoy. Also, your book videos are always so interesting and fantastic to watch so it's always a treat to get one. :D
I'm doing my leaving cert in June so I haven't got to read much this year and I miss it so much but somehow this video helped quench that thirst to read
Great video :) I've got chasing the stars, bought it recently and hoping to read it soon! Just bought Release too and going to see Patrick Ness in Brighton on Sunday!
I read Release last week when it was released. I did enjoy it, but not nearly as much as I'd wanted or expected. Same with The Rest Of Us. Maybe I just need to reread both of them someday, and not rush through them as much as I tend to do. Maybe I also just need to adjust my expectations a bit? IDK. I've absolutely adored all other Patrick Ness novels though. Encounters sounds really interesting! I'm looking up the alien incident right now, I'd never heard of it either. I'm currently going back and forth between The Voyage Out by Virginia Woolf, and The Invention of Nature by Andrea Wulf.
Nice video, these books seems interesting. Honestly I don't often read novels but maybe I'll try some of these out. Your videos nicely describe the book you have read.
I literally just finished reading Chasing the Stars and i'm so sad because I'm literally already done..like I want more I wish there was a sequence..Its just too good to be true
I've only read one book by Ness (A Monster Calls) picked up at random - watching your review makes me want to pick up more! ..though honestly just makes me want to read in general and not necessarily the things you review, because I just need to read more!
I'm currently reading 'How To Be A Bawse' by Lilly Singh aka IISuperwomanII and it's really amazing! Those books you recommended seem really beautiful and a tad mysterious! Great video 💖😊
When my exams are done in a few weeks, I have 3 months off so I'm planning on finishing all the books on my shelf! If anyone wants any book recommendations by me though, I really recommend the Half Bad trilogy by Sally Green and anything by Rainbow Rowell, especially Carry On and Fangirl! 😊
Currently reading Elizabeth the forgotten years by John Guy. As well as counting towards revision for my history exam it's genuinely a really interesting well written biography
Hi, Candice, you should read 'Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda', and 'The Upside of Unrequited' when you get the chance - they're both a bundle of smiles :)
Have you read "A Monster Calls" by Patrick Ness? I think that's one of the best books. I'm thinking of reading "More than this" by him but I don't know yet
Reading Release right now (alliteration wasn't intended, but I like it). I'm finding the girl's bits very distracting and confusing, but I hope it will pick up. By the way, Christian? Adam is a Jehova Witness, right? They keep asking him to be a witness to everybody, so I assumed it was so. Anyway, I'm very interested in checking out the other titles you've shown :)
I know! I just assume that the YA to non-YA ratio is around 10:1 ;). I can't seem to find good novels lately so if you can help I will like you even more
Lorenza Pozzi I know what you mean, I'm not a YA fan myself either! If you haven't heard of them already, you might like JenCampbell & MercysBookishMusings here on RU-vid. They tend to focus on a broad range of adult fiction 😉❤️ happy reading!!
thank you for this comment!! I've been trying to find non-ya booktubers! I really like watching candice's videos but the books she reads don't sound like something that would appeal to me
