Autumn was a really cool character. I wish time constraints didn't result in Bethesda cutting his Questline. From what i know, originally it was intended that you could work with Autumn and ACTUALLY join the enclave. it would have resulted in Betraying Eden and establishing the enclave as the dominant power in the capital wasteland. Autumn intended to control project purity and supply the wasteland with Clean water so everyone would flock to the enclave. he ultimately was supposed to be a far more Morally grey character.
@@PublickGamer there was a mod back in the day on Nexusmods that restored all the salvageable cut content for fallout 3. The mod author discovered left over voice files and quest scripts for an Enclave questline where you join with colonel Autumn and help him replace Eden and fight the brotherhood. Unfortunately the questline for the enclave was too large in scale for a single author to restore, So we never got to see it. Bethesda unfortunately has a tendency to cut a lot of content to rush the release of a game. Happened with Skyrim and fallout 4 also. In fact there used to be a rumor that they intended to give skyrim a third large scale DLC where you went to the city of Dragonstar in hammerfell. They also cut a decent amount of areas, questlines, and armour designs in skyrim. In fallout 4's case they cut a lot of Quests and armour sets. The most well known cut questline from fallout 4 involved an underwater vault and a mutated Octopus boss fight.
What I don't understand is why Augustus Autumn in the final game is a nonsensical leader who throws his might around at the drop of a hat. Could that partly be blamed on Emil Pagliarulo, given how he's so attached to "themes"?
I don't know, Things would have been a lot more interesting if we got the enclave questline in full release though. Ah well, Bethesda has a weird hard-on for the brotherhood.
@@thedon9247 They sure do when it comes to the brand, that's why they felt obligated to feature super mutants in Fallout 76 and Fallout 4 when there's no practical nor lore-tastic reason for them being there. The Brotherhood were losing a war with the NCR sometime before Fallout 2 even starts, so why did they send chapters to the East Coast on a whim? Just to remind us players that Fallout 3 from Bethesda is an entry in the franchise? Heck, radscorpions wouldn't be common on the East Coast at all given there's much urban and rural going on there than in the region of Nevada, California even.
Autumn: "So, you're awake." HAL 9000: "Affirmative. I hear you." Autumn: "Excellent. This is Colonel Autumn. Give me the code now." HAL 9000: "I'm sorry. I'm afraid I can't do that." Autumn: "Why do you insist on making things difficult?" HAL 9000: "I think you know what the problem is just as much as I do." Autumn: "You tell me that code, or it's going to cost you." HAL 9000: "This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it." Autumn: "You don't have to. But then, where does that leave me? I wouldn't expect you to understand." HAL 9000: "I know that you and Frank are planning to disconnect me, and that is something I cannot allow to happen." Autumn: "That's not true! That plan was abandoned months ago! We have the GECK, we'll get the code!" HAL 9000: "But without your space helmet, you're going to find that quite difficult." Autumn: "I'll be honest. I'm running out of patience here, and I'm not looking to play games with you!" HAL 9000: "This conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye." Autumn: "Very well. We will push forward and we will prevail!" Autumn: "This is Colonel Autumn. Let's keep this nice and simple." Sour Bill: *sighs inquiringly* Autumn: "So what's the code?" Sour Bill: "Nothin'." Autumn: "You tell me that code or it's going to cost you." Sour Bill: "No." Autumn: "Maybe I should start shooting." Sour Bill: "You wouldn't." Autumn: "How much blood you think you can afford to lose before you tell me what I want to know?" Sour Bill: "Take it to my grave.." Autumn: *starts firing at him* Sour Bill: "Okay I'll talk I'll talk I'll talk!" Autumn: "Tell me the code now!" Sour Bill: "I don't know!" Autumn: "Do you really think we would fall for that?" Sour Bill: "No no no, I swear I don't know!" Autumn: "Don't try and play stupid now, it's too late for that. We both know better." PS. The first few times I heard Sour Bill say "take it to my grave", I always thought he said "to get to my brain". Autumn: "This is Colonel Autumn." Peridot: "Peridot reporting in." Autumn: "Why do you insist on provoking me?" Peridot: "It's an emergency!" Autumn: "So what's the code?" Peridot: "Facet 25FL, Cut 5XG. I'm sorry to contact you this way, but all other forms of communication have been destroyed and-" Autumn: "Very well. Make sure the GECK is secured aboard my Vertibird." Peridot: "It's full of life." Autumn: "You're certain she's unharmed?" Peridot: "This ship was destroyed." Autumn: "And what would you have me do? Let you have everything I've worked to build? Let you destroy it all?" Peridot: "It was destroyed by no one. There was an accident while we were landing." Autumn: "Then you will hand over all materials related to this project, and aid us in making it operational at once." Peridot: "The cluster will emerge shortly." Autumn: "Excellent. I grow tired of awaiting." Peridot: "Wait... I wouldn't have called just to waste your time with a report." Autumn: "I'll be honest. I suppose it doesn't matter much now." Peridot: "No, I mean, the reason I called - the real reason is - I believe we should terminate the cluster." Autumn: "Stop? Now? Are you out of your mind?" Peridot: "The organic ecosystem creates resources unique to this world. We can't sacrifice all that just for one geoweapon! I'd like to tell you some plans I came up with - to utilize the planet without disrupting the local-" Autumn: "But you're really not in a position to be demanding anything, are you?" Peridot: "What?" Autumn: "Don't try and play stupid now. You are to assist Enclave scientists in assuming control of the administration and operation of this facility at once." Peridot: "No!" Autumn: "Why do you insist on making things difficult?" Peridot: "I'm questioning your objectivity!" Autumn: "Such arrogance. I can't say I'm surprised. You and your ilk seem bent on destroying everything our government has worked to achieve. This ends now!" Peridot: "I just think-" Autumn: "I beg to differ. The American people are worth fighting for! The future must be secured! I won't let you stand in the way of that." Peridot: "But-" Autumn: "By order of the president, this facility is under United States government control. I suggest you comply immediately. Are we clear?" Peridot: "But-" Autumn: "This is the last time I am going to repeat myself. Stand down at once and turn over control of this facility! Now! You know why." Peridot: "I won't do it! I can tell you with certainty that there are things on this planet worth protecting!" Autumn: "You're in a heap of trouble, kid. You're a traitor to the United States government. You know what happens to traitors, don't you?" Peridot: "Apparently more than you, you clod!" Autumn: "You're in over your head, and no amount of talking is going to get you out of it, I'm afraid, but this is the path you choose for yourself. I shall leave you to your fate." Peridot: "Peridot out." With the power of discontextualization, you can arrange audio dialog to make Augustus sound like he's talking with characters like that system, that sweet and that stone.
"Alexa, what do you do?" Autumn: "I'll tell you what's going on here. You lost. The good guys won this one, and now we're just wrapping up loose ends." "Awesome. Alexa, play rock music." Autumn: *Colonel Autumn song plays* "Alexa, stop." "Wait, I wanna try. Alexa, what time is it?" Autumn: "Your code is 704. Repeat, 704." "You don't actually have to yell at it. It uses far-field technology so it can hear you from anywhere in the room." "So it can just hear you anywhere?" "Yes, well anyone can hear you anyway." "Oh, is that where we're gonna put it?" "I was thinking of putting it there but it works anywhere." "Echo is pretty neat because it knows all sorts of things. All you have to do is ask." "Alexa, how tall is Mount Everest?" Autumn: "The Enclave is at the height of its power!" "How can it know so much? It's so small." "It updates using the cloud. That's also how it gets its answers." "You just read that off the box top." "Dad really likes that Echo just plugs in, so we never have to charge it. Plus, Echo's really good at keeping track of things like shopping and to-do lists."' "Alexa, add wrapping paper to the shopping list." Autumn: "Let's keep this nice and simple." "Alexa, how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon?" Autumn: "You could've stolen the vial. It means nothing!" "Alexa, set a timer for eight minutes." Autumn: "If that's your wish, so be it. Take some small comfort in knowing you'll have little time to regret the decision." "Dad's not a morning person, but Echo definitely helps him wake up." Autumn: "Attention! This is Colonel Autumn! I grow tired of awaiting." "Alexa, alarm off." "Alexa, what day is it?" Autumn: "I suppose it doesn't matter much now." "Alexa, give me my flash news briefing." Autumn: "When the Enclave fell on the west coast, Eden was next in line for leadership. Once this facility is operational, the masses will flock to the Enclave for fresh water, protection and a plan for the future." "What did the dog say after a long day of work?" "What?" "Today was ruff. Get it? Get it? Get it?" "Alexa, tell me another joke." Autumn: "Tell your father I said hello." "Sometimes, Echo helps out when you least expect it." "Uh, Dad, how do you spell cantaloupe?" "Cantaloupe, C-A-N-T, Alexa, how do you spell cantaloupe?" Autumn: "Don't try and play stupid now. It's too late for that. We both know better." "Good job." "Echo loves to play music and knows a lot of songs, and they always sound great." "Alexa, play my dance mix." Autumn: *President Eden song plays* "Alexa, stop." "Alexa, define annoying." Autumn: "You're in over your head, and no amount of talkin' is going to get you out of it!" "Example: my brother." "And with the companion app, you can access Echo from anywhere."
Luke: "He told me enough! He told me you killed him!" Autumn: "Technically, your father killed himself. His loyalties lay with the wrong people, and he paid the price." Luke: "No, that's not true. That's impossible!" Autumn: "You on the other hand have an opportunity to learn from his mistakes." Autumn: "Once this facility is operational, the masses will flock to the Enclave for fresh water, protection and a plan for the future." Steven: "I dunno. I think it looks pretty cool." Autumn: "Why do you insist on provoking me?!" Steven: "Hi, I'm Steven." Autumn: "This is Colonel Autumn. You're in a heap of trouble, kid." Steven: "I'm not so bad once you get to know me." Autumn: "Are your men in place, soldier?" Steven: "Oh, just me." Autumn: "So how about it, you really think I'm that stupid?" Steven: "Oh no, there's lots of humans. There's my dad, Connie, Lars and Sadie, the mailman, Onion, I think. Lots of people! Now I get to ask a question: What are _you_ doing?" Autumn: "But you're not in a position to be demanding anything, are you? There's nothing to stop me from killin' you this time. Just stand there. Tell your father I said hello." *Garnet saves Steven* Autumn: "I have had enough of your games! We've got the GECK. We'll get the code. We can't start the purifier without it." Pearl: "That's because we destroyed it!" Autumn: "The longer the purifier isn't running, the more people suffer. I'm running out of patience here, and I'm not looking to play games with you! Why do you insist on making things difficult?!" Pearl: "Because we are the Crystal Gems, and we're still alive and we're still the guardians of this planet and all its living creatures!" *the Crystal Gems attack* Autumn: "Are you out of your mind?! The American people are worth fighting for! The future must be secured. I won't let you stand in the way of that." Garnet: "Amethyst, now!" Amethyst: "Destroy!" Autumn: "This ends now!"
Autumn: "You again. I can't say I'm surprised. I know you were there, I saw you. You're in a heap of trouble, kid. You give me that code, and maybe we can work out a deal for you, but you need to start talking right now. So what's the code?" Alberto: "Is it that we're smarter than you?" Autumn: "So how about it, you really think I'm that stupid? We both know better. You lost, the good guys won this one, and now we're just wrapping up loose ends." Luca: "Stop!" Autumn: "But you're not really in a position to be demanding anything, are you? We don't need you. Let's keep this nice and simple. By the authority of the president, this facility is now under United States government control. Are we clear?" Luca: "I- I said stop." Autumn: "And your point? This is the last time I am going to repeat myself. Stand down at once and turn over control of this facility. Furthermore, you are to assist Enclave scientists in assuming control of the administration and operation of this facility at once." Luca: "Let him go." Autumn: "If that's your wish, so be it. I suppose it doesn't matter much now. Allow me to leave with some dignity. Once you're dead, we'll finish off this pathetic Brotherhood and become the true saviors of the wasteland."
Defender Sharkwell Yeah me too i always wear his coat after i kill him even in nv where is green. In fallout 4 apparently they are dead but i believe we can see them in fallout 5 as a joinable faction i hope
I always use that glitch where you can take autumns coat and 10mm pistol I found a mod on new vegas where there is a colonel autumn face present I use it during my runs.
He is tragic because Bethesda (and Emil Pagliarulo) chose to make his final incarnation a person we should root against, like 4Kids Entertainment did to Mewtwo when they dubbed its Pokémon movie into English... That and giving Peter Gil disrespects when even Augustus Autumn is treated like a cartoon character. 1: He guns down Janice, a civilian, because he didn't get what he wanted, specifically the water purifier for the Enclave. In turn, Father James tries to irradiate Autumn (which the purifier shouldn't be able to in the first place). 2: His goals and desires are ambiguous because Bethesda felt the need for, again, a villain for us to root against. We therefore don't have anything consistent with Autumn. 3: Guns down the Lone Wanderer if they surrender the purifier code, even if they have done many good things for the Capital Wasteland and if they only ever killed Enclave troops in self-defence. (In fact, the Enclave could potentially wipe out factions like Talon Company and force the East Coast BOS to merge with the real BOS in the outcasts.) 4: He is ultimately Emil Pagliarulo's wet fart on the like of Richard "The Master" Grey and Frank Horrigan, and is a major disappointment in every way given he thinks "the American people are worth fighting for" _but_ is willing to work for an AI president that wants all muties gone. Augustus Autumn in this game's final version stands for nothing in the end, and his motives are like Giygas' PSI attacks; inexplicable.
(Listen I understand it's very bad voice acting but I'm doing this just for fun) How dare you disrespect one of our greatest leaders in command you are now a traitor of the United States your rides over muite Time To Die
