This was Grant Williams last television appearance. He tragically died in 1985 at the age of 53 from peritonitis. The actor was long rumored to be Gay but his death though suspected was not confirmed to be AIDS related.
Ponce Ponce was so rude and insensitive when he answered with rape. I'm surprised they allowed it on the show. Neither side was very good at guessing answers, but his was horrible.
@@auggie803 Agreed. They were asking for trouble with that question. But what's even more disconcerting is the guy couldn't seem to get why his answer got the reaction it did...."......it was a Beautiful answer ....."
Steve Harvey asks really creepy questions all the time, but at least the contestants aren't creepy as well. The guy in this episode had a wife and three daughters at the time that this aired!
June Lockhart looked stunning here, and Guy Williams was so gorgeous and sexy in his costume on Lost in Space, definitely the hottest tv dad of all time! Wonder where Billy Mumy was?
@@williamchristie7365 Truth. Billy said this during an interview with the Television Academy. He was working on a project at the time anyway and said Jonathan was glad both of them were going to turn it down. Billy did a spot-on impersonation of Jonathan saying, "Family Feud? Dickie Dawson! I'm not going to do it. And if they don't got us, they got nothin'".
@@davebevpeffer4176 Yes, Billy also said he wouldn't have gone on anyway as he doesn't do that type of tv. The movie project was a legitimate excuse though.
Amazing stuff seeing grant williams and troy donahue from Hawaiian eye on family feud. Tragically grant williams died at very young age of 54. Gave some good performances the couch and the incredibly shrinking man
One more episode of Family Feud with Gilligan's Island vs. Hawaiian Eye and that completes the entire week of the 2nd All Time Favorites of Television on Family Feud.
I actually don't have that one but you can find it on the family feud dvd set they released. It's funny they have that one on there but are missing many of the others!
Pretty sure it also wasn't acceptable back then though. In fact i'm pretty sure it was still illegal. And the guy's response "...it was a beautiful answer ..." is somewhat troubling, to say the least.
@@wsjustice neither was rape..... because only psycho's fantasize about either and the question was for 100 random people (where at least two have to say the same thing)
I think that Asian actor didn't know any better. Richard (in so many words) did make sure to let him know his answer was not a Kosher one (even back in the early Eighties). The real question is who came up with that topic, and who authorized it to be used on the show? Definitely one of the worst and most bizarre questions in F/F history.
Since I love watching Family Feud. My son in law’s grandfather Poncie Ponce Hawaiian eye was famous actor, singer, Hawaiian’s fave. This was 1961-1963 tv episode. I met him..such a nice guy, very charming and adorable. He passed away 5 yrs. ago. RIP.
Que hipocresia! Llamaron a Guy Williams para estos juegos cuando ya lo habian olvidado. Se quedó en Argentina porque ahi lo valoraban de verdad. Que verguenza este programa.
Back in the sixties I eas totally smitten with Angela Cartwright, even before Lost in Space her role in Sound of Music. Sister Veronica in an episode of Twilight Zone and then more recently on the Closer.
Bob Conrad was away with a project at the time..Bob was Connie's best Bud in real life...The bizarre irony also was when Connie got married in 1963 Bob Conrad was in Europe and couldn't make it.He would have been the best man there too........Connie is Godmother to Bob's son.
You so know I was rooting for Lost In Space!!! Angela as Penny was always my favorite! Guy and June as Prof. and Mrs. Robinson were outstanding as parents to their tv children❤️
To be a female contestant, you need to be subjected to Richard Dawson's kisses...ewww. I've always thought it was so gross that he would go down the line and kiss each lady on the lips...what a way to spread germs. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
@@Rogue849 Haha!...thanks for pointing that out! I think you're right and I'm surprised that I didn't notice that at the time. I just thought he was some sort of hating troll or something. 😀
@@electraglide9357 I do wonder at what moment was Guy wanting to slap him. I mean, after the guy said what he said, they don't really show Guy on the screen for a while
Notice how they said "Late movie"? Because back then, television didn't run 24/7 and nobody had a VCR. The only way you could watch a movie at home back then was late at night.
In those days, after the late movie went off, the Star Spangled Banner was played, then white noise (snow) ended that channel's broadcast for the day. 24/7 broadcasts (and 500 plus channels) are the norm, nowadays.
Based on this episode, Dawson was a terrible host ... poor attempts at humor, very ordinary dull voice/tone for a host, and all over the women in a very uncomfortable way.,....
@@supportvawa2213... Not just creepy...he is disgusting...and a vile person 😩 They should change the show title..as it is no longer a family show. The questions are all sexually suggestive...and intended to encourage the contestants to use innuendo...and dirty, tacky answers. All the while ...repulsive Steve Harvey laughs all the way to the bank..😫
@@christinecatt8039 yep.....there was that one celebrity, a sweet Christian lady who gave the answer - rhymes with heinous - to where your man likes to be kissed. Then she went on a talk show to attempt to clear her name and the embarrassment. Luckily, no one was paying attention, except for people like me and I understand the pressure contestants are under to stop to his level.
Different era. Dawson came across as the debonair lounge guy, a throwback to The Rat Pack of the mid Sixties. What is considered gross by today's standards, was acceptable back then. Nowadays, he would have been hit with a sexual assault / battery charge, then sued civilly for compensation for a host of reasons. Times sure have changed.
