I just want to start out by saying I’m so far from perfect & I’ve made lots of mistakes on social media for the sake of likes & views.
I’m very thankful no matter how hard it hurt my ego was to see these pages on tiktok, Instagram and RU-vid on safety & privacy when sharing on social media. It really made me open my eyes to my mistakes I’ve made on our platforms. I got caught up in the vision of fame
I’ve been trying to make lots of changes so our page is positive and makes you smile, laugh and cry 🥰
I’ve seen some pretty great family vloggers lately who are so positive and doing things right when sharing their lives.
I’m not going to keep dwelling on it but I’m going to try real hard to make our page a place where you don’t have to worry about drama, but will make you want to grab coffee while you watch our family share our everyday living

I was thinking if I were a RU-vidr I would also delay any announcements of upcoming travel, or even travel vlogs, shopping trips etc. People don't need to learn your routines or know your exact bdays. It's important to protect yourself at all costs. You learned from this and are doing just that, so good for you!

As a Mom myself I can only imagine going back and watching older videos that you decided needed to be removed for whatever reason. I bet that was emotional for you. When it comes to your children’s safety we sometimes see things in hindsight that we freak out over later. Had I been in your place I probably would have done the same thing. Having a spouse/partner being an extra set of eyes is wonderful and I am happy you have that in Luke. I already had much respect for you but it has grown. I can’t watch family channels with small children bc they can’t choose to be filmed. They have no voice. Your children are adults or at least the age of consent. I feel if any of your kids said they didn’t want to be filmed, you wouldn’t film them. Bless you and your family. God is good❤

You have to forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know until you knew it. I used to have a channel and lots of videos until some viewers wouldn't take no for an answer that I didn't want to meet them in person. That wouldn't be safe for a single old woman like myself. You are making positive changes and your smile and sparkling eyes will keep your channel growing. ✨️

Your humility is awesome! I’ve loved everything you’ve shared and I absolutely understand and agree with you taking certain things down. Even some of the more well known commentary channels really like your channel and you’re known as one of the families that does it right! There will always be people that say bad things no Matter how “perfect” someone does something. I started watching your channel after seeing how toxic some of the “other” channels are(I don’t even need to name names) and you are nothing like them. The sad part about social media is we often listen to the criticism over and above all the compliments. I think we’re hard wired that way? Thank you for sharing what you’ve learnt but I honestly don’t think you owe anyone an apology. You’re making a decision to enter a new phase that suits your family better. Family vlogging has become so common, that even people who start with the best intentions can get wrapped into the hustle of it, and don't always consider if something could be unsafe or exploitive. We live in a day where we have to swim against the current on a lot of "normalized" lifestyles.

I am not one to comment on videos too often unless I find it to be interesting/important. This is such an important video for all the “right” reasons. I don’t think anyone could have predicted what social media would one day become. What you are doing by releasing this video is showing viewers and content creators an incredible example of the importance in internet safety. Not everyone takes safety on the internet as seriously as they should. I hope you know what a blessing your actions are for your family. This is an example of what a loving “mama bear” should be. Your honesty and humility is admirable and I have so much more respect for you as a person since releasing this video. This is what love looks like, love is a verb that encompasses so much but one big component is protecting those you love most, no matter what! Your children and (hopefully one day) grandchildren will look back on this video and thank you for putting them above everything! Lead by example. I'm grateful for this video because you are giving a great explanation as to how easily it is to get carried away with feeling good about sharing. There's nothing wrong for feeling good about sharing because it's how we connect with one another on a human level. Your kids and how they interact with you with such love is a wonderful thing to share. Way back in 2006, I posted a photo at work. There was a small magnet of the company logo in the background. I thought I was being cautious. A man I grew up with showed up unannounced at my job the next evening. He began stalking me. I completely got off social media for a decade. I'm still wary of posting anything. You and your family are a breath of fresh air! Your kids all seem very happy and responsible. You and Luke teach them life skills with love and it shows. I love to see the kids helping each other out with different things without ever complaining, it really shows how bonded they are to each other. If I do watch a commentary about the family that shall not be named, I always come to your channel afterwards to see your family because you guys are uplifting, happy, and funny! I feel like the genuine, caring normal people out there understand that you need to do what keeps you and your family safe. You have to look at us like strangers. It’s hard for good people to imagine these horrible things because we would never dream of doing something creepy or criminal. All these people that ask all those questions you would think they’re just curious and you have to answer because you’re going to lose them, but in reality, they could be fishing and you can’t take a chance. God is good all the time!! I don't know if you thought of this, but I had also remembered watching an egg video of yours (we had just gotten our first chickens! Lol) and you had shown the name of your egg company on the cartons. I remember thinking "oh no, I pray the wrong people don't see that, because it would be so easy to find their home through that.." But.. you know the saddest part about it all? Is that we HAVE to think like this. This is the world we live in. 😔 What's wrong is right and what's right is wrong... we are the modern day Sodom and gomorrah. Thank Jesus, we have our blessed hope of the rapture to pull us out of this mess! 🙌❤️ With all the signs being there.. Jesus's return is surely immanent. ❤️

Hallelujah, thank you. Praise where it is deserved. Children need protection, children need to know they are safe. Takes a lot on a platform to admit wrong doing. Keep yourself protected and your children too.
