That one with Peter in the robe is so genius. It’s a sopranos reference that most likely went over a lot of peoples heads, while he reads a paper about sopranos jokes going over peoples heads.
They cut to black for the ending of the sopranos because that is what dying is like. It’s just black. Tony gets killed in front of his family but they wanted to show what his perspective of death is like, he didn’t get to see his family’s reaction to his murder, just like how it’d be irl if you got shot in the head. You can’t see what happens next when ur dead.
@@jacktorrance2633 if you paid attention you would. Look into what the members only jacket and '2 black guys' gag mean then watch the final scene again paying close attention
I remember growing up with family guy thinking the sopranos was like a famous bad ending of a tv show, then I grew up and it’s insanely easy to understand and even hinted at. Like did the family guy writers not get it?
@@001variation I mean he either dies as soon as it goes black or lives in constant fear for the rest of his life . I think that’s a fitting ending for tony.
clearly, I grew up thinking the same as well but when I actually watched it I felt a variety of emotions, I was confused, shocked, intrigued, then it all came together and I understood.
What’s funny is that the Sopranos didn’t actually end mid sentence… nobody was talking when the screen cut The pattern of that entire scene was 1. Door bell rings 2. We see Tony look at the door 3. We see the door from Tony’s perspective It did that 3 times but on the third one it went 1. Door bell rings 2. We see Tony look at the door 3. Cut to black That cut to black WAS Tony’s perspective because he died. And obviously we didn’t hear a gunshot becaaaause “You probably don’t even hear it when it happens”
The whole point of the ending of The Sopranos is that you essentially get to choose your own ending in your own headcanon. That’s why multiple possibilities were set up towards the end of the show and none have been confirmed
And if you look at the Tony's song choices, you get -Any Way You Want It -Magic Man -Don't Stop Believing -Probably some that I missed Basically, it ends however you believe it did...but we all know Tony Died. 😢
Not really. David Chase has always maintained that it's ambiguous, so anyone can postulate what they think. Its like with Stanley Kubrick, if you try to think about it literally you'll just end up back at the start.
@@triplek-dysongamingwithdan7771 Chase had a Freudian slip and said Tony was killed. He “redacted” that statement, but he’s clearly bullshitting. Tony was killed. Cut to black. End of story.
@@kaj7135 Also Chase says there are hints all over the final episode. It isnt made obvious but theyre there when you rewatch. For example during one of the scenes one of the characters abruptly leaves a funeral wake in a suspicious manner. Hinting that they are setting something up, etc.
@@Brand-New-Adventures you’re acting like i’m saying it’s bad cause of one episode, no it’s been bad for fucking years now they should’ve ended it like over 10 seasons ago lol
