Not really, I had to use a piece of wood to make them stay in one place. I made another video about that in case you want to check it out, it would be out later on the day.
You did turn the plate i see? Is that so it the wheel is not to close to you? And could you use 3 M6 bolts this way without making any extra hole in the plate? Waiting for the stand alone base to use on my Playseat Challenge
I have the same setup (none Pro). Yes the plate is turned here and the wheelbase is quite far away from the driver. Yes you can use three bolts without drilling, my setup looked similar to this shown here. What I did and I would recommend: Either use 2 bolts or drill another one in the middle, in a closer distance to the driver than the original middle hole. Then you are more flexible in positioning of the wheel distance - plus: the weight is more balanced to the pipe-center, so the whole seat is not that front heavy anymore and the plate movement while driving becomes a little weaker :)
Yes, I did. Otherwise the wheel was in front of my chest. It was the only way without drilling any new holes, also, as pointed out by @Sascha R the weight it is now more to the front and it can fall over. Not sure yet how to fix that but I will experiment.
@@saschar8496 Yes, it didn't occur to me and I also didn't have the proper tools but it could be a much better way way as the wheel weight would be more balanced.
@@saschar8496 Won't the wheel be too close of the chest if you put it more in the center? i guess this is the best way to provide the plate to move while driving and without driving
Kind of. It is stable to a certain point. For playing is all right, you can play and notice nothing. But you need to be careful on the weight distribution as if it can fall forward because of the base weight. You also need to be careful when opening the seat to sit, as it can fall on its side. So, it works but be careful.
Not much, it is a bit wobbly, it works but it is not perfect and you need to be careful. There is a recommendation in another comment to drill a third whole to make the wheel a bit more to the center and more balanced.
@@Fishmaat404 Cool, I will post a video of how to install the base, it is very simple but if you have a G29 you have to move a few things around, it also shows a bit how the seat moves while you are playing, so you will have an idea in case you wanted to replace the Playseat Challenge with something more sturdy.
