I lost T17 somehow in my Fanuc om CNC mill. It would not change to T17. Here I go over troubleshooting it and how I fixed it on the vertical machining center.
Hi Shane, Love the videos! they have been a huge help. I have a question for you. I have a 1996 Komo VR408, converted to a VR508, router with the Fanuc O-M. It had a static tool changer that was upgraded to an 8 place carousel style tool changer. Long story short, we forgot to change the batteries and lost our parameters. After about 9 hours of manually putting them in by hand, we were back in business... With one exception. The Automatic tool changer. I can do a tool change all day long in MDI mode, but as soon as I go to put it in a program, NOTHING! Any thoughts? Thanks!
Hi Shane, Do you have any info on how you go from the machine home position to a work position i think it is a g54, ie how you program the offset ,i am a cnc virgin. I have no books on the fanuc OM , my cnc is excel like yours
My workflow is set all tool offsets which I did a video on. I use the gage line method. I use a Haimer 3d probe to locate the WCS I defined in Fusion 360 and setup a work offset that matches which is normally a jig or fixture point. Are you using Fusion 360 for CAM?

I having problems with a fanuc OM controller getting the M06 toolchange command to work... could you share your settings for parameters 40.5, 230-239, 240-242, and any O90xx programs that are loaded onto your machine?? Just bought mine and there are no O90xx programs so I think they've been lost

Hi Shane. Thanks for this information. My issue is when i command a tool change the ATC just turns back and forth. Does not actually change tool. Any idea what this could be? Ladder issue?

My fanuc om has the rigid tap option and the machine is setup for it (Spindle encoder). I use standard tap holders like this one. www.toolmex.com/itemdetail/8-245-4010
