Omg seriously. Where that tunnel at cuz I love this song. And that's some damn funny stuff. It's on the tunnel wall. You made my morning. That's a beautiful thing to do for a guy. Especially one that's considering. I don't want to bring anybody down
This song was written by Willie Nelson when he was a struggling songwriter/singer. He offered it to Faron for $500.00 but Faron said he wouldn't buy it but he would record it. Faron said that when Willie got his first royalty check "he kissed me right in the mouth" The check was for $20,000.00. Faron Young was an honorable man.
As a Texan, this is the country music that I was raised on. It’s what I’m sure many of us native Texans consider to be the genuine article of country music.
I'm 70 and believe there really is a hillbilly heaven! But, they're not ALL gone - George, Alan, Dolly and Whispering Bill are still recording! And Wilson Fairchild, Malpass Brothers, and Mo Pitney are awesome REAL Country performers!
My old man is repairing and painting the walls of their 20 year old lakefront home in Michigan. It made me think of this classic, so, naturally, I had to send him a link to this song! HELLO, CEILING!
I just spent the last 10 hours being forced to listen to this modern day country music while hanging out with my friends and all of that can't even come CLOSE to how awesome this is. This is real country music.
Yes, amazing how great such music. Today's sounds are calculated to sell to uneducated youth who respond to stars that look like aninmae characters. Check out webb pierce I ain't never on same stage.
yeah absolutely I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless.. I miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together. seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia 🥺
Fell in love with COUNTRY music while watching Faron singing on the Grand Old Opera when I was 6-7 years old and still love it (and him) 75 years later!! :)
Mr. Young dated my my Mom when he was in service. Before she passed away she gave me a set of china that Mr. Young gave her as a gift when he was stationed over sea's. May he rest in peace.
@@@tedpittsinger9688 Charlie Pride is definitely one of the greatest country singers of all time. And today my friend is one of the luckiest day of your life. The day when you find out, not only that Charlie Pride is still alive, but you can see him perform. In Sparks Nevada, January 10. I'll be there. I hope you are too.
Hello 👋 Margie. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I’m Antonio Williams and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
+MusicMC1 oh come on. 10,000 plus better? that is nonsense. it is 10 MILLION times better! :) and it is . country music TODAY is nothing but pop with the exception of a few old times such as Willie Nelson.. but he was singing back when it was great.
I remember long hot summers in the late 60's as a kid going for day trips in my dad's old logging trucks listening to this type tunes on a old tube type am radio. I miss the old days, they were more fun without cell phones and computers
youtubeaccount wouldn't necessarily say that they screwed us because computers give us so much, I do however agree that the parents should get us outside from a younger age and keep us using technology for education and such
This is one of those classic sad songs that help a man cope through their perfect lyrics and delivery. The love of my life for the past three years passed away in July- I find myself saying hello to my walls a lot now.
The 50's and 60's were the best for country music. I guess I was lucky to have lived and grew up in that period. What they're making today isn't even close.
this is the good ol' country music...I Love it. country music at its finest! brings back memories and times in my life where I felt that way myself. this is my country music!
This was released in March of 1961..it became a MASSIVE hit record....it reached # 1 on the country charts...# 12 on the pop charts..and spent 23 weeks on the charts...a classic...
Born in early 50's, have heard the besty of the best of music! My family played instruments and I grew up with music all my life! Loved these old songs and new, too!
My dad used to say "hello walls" to me all the time. He taught me to love country music. I didn't know which song "hello walls" came from until today!!! Now I'm 58 and this brings back such beautiful memories. I miss him more than words can express. I love you so much dad 😊🤗😘💗💗💗
His music has not been forgotten. It’s a shame what happened to him. He seemed like such a genuine gentleman. I’m a child of the ‘90s but I’ll listen to his voice over a lot of today’s country music any day. Brings back good memories of my grandfather who really enjoyed the early days of country music. He was featured in a 12 VHS set of 1950s Grand Ole Opry episodes that my grandfather had when I was a child. I gravitated toward his music. 20ish years later, I definitely understand why. What a crooner! 😊
All these Faron Young songs remind me of my Dad who I love & miss so very much. I'm sure if there is a country music band in heaven.... my Dad will be up there playing his Gibson guitar!!
i just heard the story about how this song was written. Willie Nelson was a struggling songwriter, and he was in the employ of a publishing company and was working with Hank Cochran writing songs together, but they weren't coming up with much. Hank had to leave for something one day, and told Willie while I'm gone, why don't you just write a song and play it for me when i get back. So Willie was sitting there in the office, saying to himself I have to write a song, what am I going to write about? And he looked around, saw the wall, and just said, "hello wall", and realized that could be a song. That's the brilliance of Willie Nelson. Later, as has been mentioned, Faron Young refused to buy the song from Willie, instead he loaned him $500 in exchange to sing it. Of course, Faron made a lot of money just singing it, so when Willie later told Faron he wanted to pay him back the $500, Faron said don't worry about it, but I tell you what, I know you have a cow, how about you give me a calf from that cow one day. So from then on Faron and Willie whenever they saw each other would joke about how Faron's calf was doing, and how it was growing. Some time later, Willie bought a prize bull, and had it delivered to Faron, dropping it off in his driveway with a note that said "your calf is all grown up, Willie." Faron made a good living in retirement studding that bull out, apparently. And that's the story of Hello Walls.
I love Faron. He was the "Young Sheriff"...a great singer. It troubled him that the newcomers made so much more money than ones of his time. A tragedy when he died.
Faron and his newcomers singers of his age made money that singer of his pass didnt... Hank sr had to travel across country in cars but close to faron travels thay had revamped greyhound bus's :)
This hit from Faron Young went to #12 on the Top 40 charts. It went to #1 on the Country & Western charts and to #13 on the new Adult Contemporary charts. It would finish at #45 for the year, 1961.

Great Real Country Music! I have playing guitar and singing for over 50 years and have been in a few different bands, and all we did was Classic Country Music. it is the Best.
I would start listening to classic country music while living overseas away from my wife for years in Kuwait. This song almost made me mad but in a way helped me cope. Then I got lots of cats off the streets and shipped them back home as a cry of help. No lie, lol. They are all still alive in 2023, since 2015.
I LOVED Far on When we were at Tootsies my seat was always Far one left knee.I loved this man Not to many people left like this in world.always a class act and a friend forever Wine me up was my song.I will always remember those days
Seen this faron Young video could not pass it by my father was Young's drummer in Nashville 1960s My dad had the funniest stories about faron who nickname my dad clip stories of them on the bus after the show's drinking and daring each other to do the wildest things which they all done but the Nashville stories were truly the very best he had. So this is going straight into my dad's playlist favorite's they're gone now but will never be forgotten.
I’ve listened to this song 100 times on you peoples tube and every time it brings me back to those days Everyone talks about from that foregone time of happiness, warmth, Mon/Dad, and goodness! Is this Part of the human condition or are we trapped in some wonderful place until death do us part!
Great memories of these two harmonizing and married. Good looking couple. I loved them. They do RIP as we enjoy their talent in fun songs. ❤😊 Forever Steve and Edy!!
Faron Young has always been and always be my #1 favorite singer!!! Four In the Morning and Hello Walls are the best!!! I was fortunate enough to meet him a couple years before he died. What a gentleman!!!
My Dad and I listened to these classic gems as he was going through chemotherapy. He passed on in 2007; and, has a front-row seat to the country greats, now.
Hello 👋 debi. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I’m Antonio Williams and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
@@antoniowilliam9287 Hi Antonio, hardly country; I just loved my father and, the music he loved. I grew up listening to classic country, among other genres. I'm from Alexandria, Va. Enjoy a wonderful day! 🙂
My Mom played this song on the guitar for my Dad! Would sit on back porch and sing with each other! Loved how I grew up, music was a big part of my life!
