A song that Willie Nelson wrote and sold it to faron young. But faron never paid him for it. And that ended there friend ship All because he didn't want to pay Willie that measley five dollars. And that's a fact 👍
The word going around Nashville was that Hank Williams "stole" Billie Jean from Young, but Young told a different story when interviewed by Carol Lee (Cooper, of Carol lee Singers fame). Billie Jean, the 18 year old daughter of a police chief in Louisiana (Bossier City) and already once married and divorced, came to Nashville with Young. Williams and Young became fast friends, probably due to their similar drinking and carousing lifestyles, and when Young had Billie Jean over at Williams house one night, Williams told him, "I've got to have that woman," to which Young replied, "Take her. She means nothing to me." Very soon afterwards, she and Williams were married. Not that long after that, Williams died in the back seat of his Cadillac. Billie Jean then, after a time, married Johnny Horton, who died in a car accident. Faron Young, who was not that tall and seemed to be a bit self conscious about it, said in the Carol Lee interview that the word got around Nashville then to: "Stay away from that Billie Jean. She killed Hank Williams, she killed Johnny Horton, and she stunted Faron Young's growth." LOL Straight from Young's mouth, after which he laughed uproariously, so I know it's true. Billie Jean Jones Horton is still around --90 year old -- and is a zealous caretaker of the Johnny Horton estate and legacy. Good for her.
I saw Farron Young in Montana. He sounded great, but His roadies scammed me by over-pricing the cassette tapes. I knew I was being taken advantage of but wasn’t old enough or bold enough to speak up. I always remembered being conned!
Surround yourself with friends and family move in with them if you can please don’t go through it alone things will get better no one should be left alone in this world
Thanks for this, I know what depression is, and hope that Farons battle with it that led to his death will make people aware of how acute such suffering can be! Also, I HEAR YOU TALKING is one of the coolest rockabilly songs I've ever heard!
….I tried twice, luckily I’m still here. Tried approximately at age 18, age, 27 now I’m 60 and doing well. My advice, just find a way to get through your problems second by second by getting in a new environment and hopefully things will get better day by day, it Did for me. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be Saved.!!! (No works involved Ephesians chap 2 verse 8)
I had to move apartments due to getting flooded. That's why I'm late seeing your videos my friend. Now I'm off to Jim Croce, which I can't wait to see !
Maybe I’m missing something, but I cannot understand anyone who has been a huge success, becoming depressed, or having an issue with alcohol. Stories like that, make me very sad, even though I cannot relate.
Depression is caused by several factors. Some people have a hard time adjusting to life after the limelight. In this particular case he felt that he was thrown away like a used toy by the industry he helped build and the general public. In addition he had recently been divorced. So he felt abandoned there also. I hope this gives you some insight about factors that were involved or I should say I speculate were involved based on my research
Excellent video Dave ! Being a country music novice, I thought at first this was the guy who sang "On the wings of a snow white dove": Also, did you see the recent Hank Williams movie ? If so, was this the guy that Hank walks up to and says "Are you gonna marry this girl ? Cause ol' Hank is "
