I am only half way thru this video and I am a high pressure welder and pipe fitter. Without even seeing both frames I would say the one made in Europe would be just like one made here in Canada or the USA. Much better quality and workmanship. It’s like the Chinese just do not care. Not that I really blame them, they are likely paid nothing and the shops owner is likely a billionaire after a few years while the workers are starving.

You can press the cups in with some threaded bar and large washers if you don't have a hydraulic press. just be carefull to start them off square and like the man says grease them up good . Da iawn 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Interesting how they make an effort to perforate the internal panels and make the outside ones out of plastic to save weight. I wish I'd bought this style of frame but no going back now! p.s You should try and get sponsored by the grease company at this rate 😂

Yes there is quite a lot of holes in various places to save weight. I have ordered some wider composite side panels from eleek as the standard ones with this frame don't give you much width.

Nice and informative video as always, i do just now exactly same build with a Qulbix 140 frame , i was comparing this two and Quilbx have 50% discount in that time when i order and price was the + - same, build quality looks nice, have some problem with 83mm bottom bracket whitch is not included. I'm looking forward to the next video :)

Sadly the Eleek / Vector frame now costs over 600 EUR. And all the other components are incredibly hard to source. Has anyone got an update list of links where to buy similar components?

Have you put your discs the right way round, they have direction arrows that should point the same way as the arrow on the tyre

Yes I am aware of the arrows. I could turn the right side around but it would look silly and the rear of the disc has a recess. Maybe I will be change the discs to one's that are plain and flat.

A lot of the stuff does fit the bomber frame but obviously you have to check sizes like drop out etc as they can differ from frame to frame.

Unfortunately I didn't weigh them so can't compare. I have noticed on the European built one that it has a lot of holes drilled in certain places to reduce the weight added by the extra strengthening.

I going to use an 80 volt battery set up on a 5T hub, so I'm thinking that it has to be over 40 mph plus when the controller is turned up full. Obviously for the MSVA purposes and on road riding the power and top speed will have to be set lower.

Do you by any chance know of any other place you can get these frames as I’ve emailed both vector and Eleek and can’t get a response. I mean i understand why Eleek is not responding but Vector is puzzling? The thing that I want the most is the cargo rack on the back of your seat to go with a well built frame.

That's the only place I know of and I think Vector gets some of their stock off Eleek.

I see the rear shock mount on the swingarm is properly welded onto sturdy frame, while on the chinese clones it's welded onto hollow sheet metal. Chinese clones are shit as expected lol

I Order a White Typhoon Frame on the 16th of January 2021, it was dispatch on the 21st of January & the last DHL tracking advise was on the 23rd of January showing that it was cleared customs & awaiting departure from Frankfurt international Airport. It is now mid March & no one seems to know what has happen to my parcel. The Consignment note states that DHL was to transport to AUS, & then Australia Post would deliver locally. When did you order your frame & how long did it take to receive it in the UK?

I tried to order in December but they were closed for most of Christmas and until the 11th January. So the order started on the 11th January and there was a 3 week period to build added bike rack to order. When I had confirmation of shipping it took 5 days to deliver.

I am now at 7 weeks from dispatch, Artur assured me that it would be here in a couple of weeks. I asked for a refund or replacement as both DHL & Australia Post tell me that it appears to be lost and to contact the seller direct. Since asking for a refund or replacement, Vector E-Bike have stopped replying to my emails and their phones are disconnected. So you are lucky to have received your frame.

I'm not sure if the holes are in the same place. I think you would have to measure eeb frame holes and ask for the Moto seat mounting dimensions 👍

If you mean power wise then yes I think the frame is strong enough but a Bicycle rear shock seems to weak for me so I am in the process of buying a 125cc motorbike rear shock. I would also prefer 125cc front forks which I hope to do in the future.

I’ve been researching all of this electric stuff and my god it’s confusing for a beginner!! I currently ride a petrol scooter and want to go electric, but I can’t find exactly what I’m after so I want to build my own. I want a 125cc equivalent bike style, not scooter. I’ve seen these kind of frames on eBay but wasn’t sure if they could handle it. One more question, could you fit wider wheels and tyres on that frame? Cheers ;)

@@HowlingWolfLeather the Chinese made Frames are not as strong the ones from Vector Ebikes and sleek as these ones have extra strengthening. The rear swing arm on my frame would probably take a 3.5 inch tyre on a 19 inch wheel as the gap is 100mm max.

@@baconbuttties ok cool. Going by what I’ve read of the MVSA, there’s nothing stopping me using a vector frame and then registering it as a motorbike. I would research into what motorcycle front forks fit the frame and same for the rear. Thanks for the advice. All I’ve got to do now is get my head around the electrical side, I’m persevering though, I’ll get it…. Eventually!!

I think it does fit a 7 speed but I am just putting a single speed on it. I bought a 18 tooth freewheel single speed from aliexpress but it is about 1mm to wide so I will need a washer/spacer.

The 1 piece 1 Shock Bike Frames of MTB E BIKES are really not ideal fit due to a bike going fast needing durability of comfort and safety. Too much easing up on rough minor road conditions along with an always shaky rideover of lifting up ya butt once bike past the front shocks on forks or front wheel. Them frames should be tossed and obsolete because it is the 2 piece frame with DUAL SHOCKS that is truly the base of type of frames for most e bikes as going fast the bike needs to be durable and adaptive going over rough road conditions such as bumps, pot holes, lifting cracks, ect. The DUAL FRAME is truly IDEAL FRAME for e bikes that goes faster then 20mph and a much more comfortable, enjoyable and a safer ride. I have 2 of them, 1 shock frame and a dual sock frame. The 1 shock MTB is factory made while I build me a CKit 1500 watt DIY and chose a similar frame to an Enduro E Bike in a NEXT Power Climber and there are many other brands you can find cheap. All I know any new builds or e bike buys it will not be a 1 piece 1 shock bike frame.

Makes zero sense to me why you'd grease a part that's to be press fit, it defeats the object and also the inside of the bearings, same issue. You understand the pressfit part needs that friction right ? and same with the bearings.

You should grease press fit bearings, have always done it that way and is usually what is recommended. Somehow you think it is going to come out? That is not the case 👍 Also it stops any corrosion which will aid in removal when needed. It makes zero sense too you but perfect sense to me any many orhers.

@@baconbuttties I've been a machinist in the past and made 1000's of pressfit parts myself on lathes and mills and the whole point of a pressfit is it being tight and the friction, adding grease is nonsense. It'd be like greasing the soles of your boots. I don't care what some "others" opinions are you cannot change facts to suit opinions. I'm giving you and your viewers some solid advice but if you want to grease them have at it.

Same goes for bearings btw, they are designed for both rings to be solid against the 2 seperate parts. It is the reason for using bearings in the first place and not just using grease on straight through parts.

@@mevstormshot let me ask you this. Will a press fit cup come out if it is greased, nope. Will it help with corrosion, yes. Will it keep water out, yes. Are there any downsides to using grease? Are there any positives to using grease. Just because you think it is wrong doesn't make it so 👍

@@baconbuttties It's a FACT it is wrong not my opiinion. I've already mentioned the downsides. Yes a pressfit could possibly come out if greased. Grease shouldn't help with corrosion because water wouldn't get into a decent pressfit. You don't have to take my word for it, ask any mechanic, machinist, engineer etc. It's basic knowledge for any of them. You can do as you like it but making a public video giving advice to others could possibly be dangerous. I've only commented on it because of how obsurd the idea is.
