85 equals 95 . Higher highway speeds equals more efficient traffic flow . We should adopt Germany’s driving programs . More education and training for safer roads .
American drivers SUCK. They don't know the rules, pass on the right, swerve to turn .... if you can't manage the metric system, you certainly won't manage driving.
A drivers license in germany costs all together around 2000 € which is around 2400 dollar. 70 Percent of the german autobahn dont have a fixed speed limit. The recommended speed is around 80 mph. You can not really compare the autobahn to a regular interstaate. The autobahn is much wider, flater and offers more security. 100 mph in a modern cars feels like sitting in your living room. Above 140 mph becomes interesting.
Should have a higher license option that permits speeding to a certain extent. (Most) Street racers are the best drivers I've ever seen. 99% of them put safety first.
Yall don't have 85mph on regular roads, only certain parts of the Autobahn, so stop flexing. Most stretches of the Autobahn do have individual speed limits. Only a few long-distance stretches between cities truly don't have a speed limit of 80mph or less. You wish you could drive 95mph to work every day. The TX-130 is just a normal commuter road. It's not even an interstate highway.
Back in the late 90's Montana didn't have a daytime speed limit on their interstate highways. I drove through the state many times going over 100 mph back then. 85 mph so what.
@@fighter5583 bro. I was doing 85 myself. I've seen the guy maybe a half mile back and he passed me in like a second. It was a mustang new model 2018 or 2019 I believe. Its like he or she was racing some1
@@specialopsdave It works very well in Germany - much less accidents than the US and not everyone has a Porsche - VW can zip along great as well. You can still get ticket for unsafe driving (whether that's too fast or too slow). There are slow and fast lanes. Cameras can enforce regulations for unsafe driving as well.
My stock 19 year old audi with 200hp will cruise at 125 easily so when compared to newer more powerful cars I think speed limits should be higher than 85
Edison73100 The problem is driving tests here are too easy and people here are generally bad drivers. It would cause fatalities. Notice that there is absolutely no lane discipline....
Ok I live in Texas and the average speed on the highway is 70, but everyone goes 75-80 all the time to the point were I pass cops All the time going 80 and they do nothing.
They should have autobarn FROM Canada to Mexico and New York to west coast . I drive around 110mph because these New cars can go really fast but 100 to 115 mph is a good motorway speed. Trucks should have their own highway, slowing and blocking the arteries of the freeways.
Gee since gas prices have risen and I have a 6 cylinder SUV (Gas Hog) I have been driving 55-60 mph. I am in Ohio and our speed limits vary depending which highway, toll road or interstate you travel on -ranging from: 55, 60 or 65. Got to admit it would be nice to travel this new 130 highway in a awesome sports car on a beautiful day though!
Its a nightmare driving on Texas roads with the increase speed zone. Even the 80 mph speed zones on I-20 > they made it a living HELL ZONE. Cause of the slow cars and trucks THEY NEED TO PUT IT BACK TO 70 MPH ! TOPS
You also skip the massive traffic jams between Georgetown and San Antonio. I-35 is a nightmare thru those areas due to San Antonio is the 6th biggest city in America and Austin is 11th. From 30 miles north of Austin to San Antonio it's totally developed. I've driven the toll road several times. Most drivers do 85. Very few speed compared to a 70mph stretch of rural interstate.
Try driving there in a 1980s car. Watch that old silly 85 speedo max out as soon you reach the speed limit and possibly see the needle stick out as you go 90 or 95 mph.
Joshua Fujiwara I mean NYC u can rarely even reach the speed limit unless it’s late at night but 30 over is pretty normal. NJ turnpike is basically the autobahn, way too many cars and idk how a cop will pull you over in the car lane
@@joesucks8417 Jersey cops are usually on their phone half the time, only seen one with a radar gun out in my life. NYC has seen very little speed demons in a while, Manhattan lap has only been done 3 times. Although I know a guy that claimed to do 200 in Manhattan a month ago in a Turbo Hayabusa (current official record is around 140) . Which is very hard to believe but you have to take in account that it was in Upper Manhattan which is less crowded and it was at 3 am during quarantine.
