My longest fast was 4 days. I am currently more than halfway through a 5 day fast. Hopefully I can do it. Staying very busy is also my plan. I only think about food when I am bored. My husband is also fasting so I am not around food.
I enjoyed learning about your fast. I have been keto for 13 months, and recently I did a 7 day fast with daily bone broth, coffee, and tea. It was a pretty tough experience. Now I do IF (alternate day), which is easier for me and probably more sustainable. Thanks for sharing.
thank you! Wow, congrats on completing such a long fast! Great to hear that you found out what works best for you, as sustainability is really important - even though sometimes longer fasting challenges like this can be fun to try out.
Congrats on your fast. You did a great job. My longest fast was three days, but I don't do them often. I'm normally doing ADF/Keto, so I fast every other day.
thank you :) Awesome! Alternate day fasting is great, seems like quite a number of our viewers are following this fasting regimen and seeing great results.
I've done a few extended fasts (maximum is 5 days) and your point about "missing food" is exactly how I would describe it. After a few days I wasn't craving, but a general hunger that I could ignore but after a while, I missed sitting down and enjoying a meal. Good job on your fast. It's nice to see that you continued with exercise and then broke the fast very well.
My longest fast was 14-days. I did have some lemon, salt & touch of honey by the third day once every day mostly for the 12 remaining days. I had not even heard of ketone then. Thank you for sharing your tips & experience. Maybe I will go for a 72 hour fast. I haven't done an extended fast other than maybe a 48hour in a very long time, but I usually fast every day with IF😄
Gratz on completing your fast! The longest fast I did was nearly 3 days. I felt fantastic and almost euphoric. The problem I had was my blood sugar levels crashed on the 3rd day, and I suddenly felt very ill and nearly passed out. I was having all the right supplements during the fast, so I have no idea what went wrong. I haven't tried doing a long fast since.
thank you! Were you getting enough sodium? Half a tsp of sea salt really helped right after getting up and then some more spread out throughout the day. There is no need to force longer fasts. It's always good to keep in mind that you can always stop it (and eat) at any time, especially if you're not feeling well. Maybe intermittent fasting or fasts that last up to two days work better for you. Just make sure you have someone looking after you if you do decide to try a longer fast again in the future!
I am glad for you. I hope to work up to this. You are an inspiration. I need to practice using more salt. I didn’t know it can help you stay warm. I just purchased a warmer down coat and vest because I have been cold when I intermittent fast even with cream coffee. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Peace to you both. 💕Virginia
Thx for this vid. So timly for me I'm starting a fast tonight and the plan is 48 hours but would like to go longer if I feel good 5 days would be ideal. My longest fast was 56 hours and it was 6 month ago. U looked really amazing during the fast especially after the workout when u were in the kitchen with you're first meal. U looked toned and very healthy. I'm even more motivated and exited about my fast. And defenetly will be having salt water close to me. I'm keto 4.5 years.
Thank you for sharing, you look great! I have been Keto since Nov. have done a few 48hour fasts..and have stopped because my blood sugars have dropped to very low and didn’t like the feeling in my body (and headache) after more research I feel I need to push through this. I believe my body isn’t wanting to use my stored fat possibly...? Since Nov, I’ve lost 12 kgs (9kgs at the start and 3 kgs in the last 2 months) loving Keto/IF Best diet for me in decades of trying to lose weight... I have 10kgs to go.
first of all, great to hear that you're doing so well on Keto! For me personally, both of those issues were solved with regular doses of sea salt. Just make sure you listen to your body (you can stop a fast at any time) and check in with your doctor if you're still not feeling good after taking some extra salt or eating some food. There's no need to force yourself to fast, especially if what you're doing is working so well already!
Any sign of muscle loss? I fasted once so far, 48h straight, with weight lifting after 24h. Only lemon water, black tea and salt as needed. It went rather effortless, to my great surprise, perhaps because I am keto adapted. But I can't say I was bursting with energy in the final 12 hours of fasting. I'm still on the fence about it all, I'm really afraid of losing muscle, and my gallbladder was a bit ruffled for a couple of days after I started eating.
I wouldn't worry about muscle loss when you're not doing fasts that last longer than three days - working out helps maintain muscle as well. Personally, I was able to beat my own record during my workout and felt even more toned.
Our Vitamin D3 droplets come with MCT oil, so that's not an issue. I think most D3 supplements come pre-mixed with a tiny amount of fat for better absorption.
@@mostlyKeto I would check out more info on this, just to be sure, if I were you. Because it would be disappointing thinking to be fasting, while a small decision like that, would throw you out of fast
