Cu Alter mentioned that summoning his Riastriad self is bad news as he's nearly unkillable and uncontrollable based on an interview with Nasu. The same interview mentioned that even *Gilgamesh* wouldn't be able to stand up to him in a fight.

It would've been cool if lancer cu had an additional np where he can tap into that warp spasm and make himself a "berserker" for the time his NP is activated. It'd make for a really cool ability. But yeah, I think most of us are also still waiting on that true berserker cu
well gae bold is cursed. u see it whit cu as Berserker Alter what can happen whit that weapon. in UBW is when he killed Kotomine, in Stay Night he gets killed after a half day fight against Gilgamesh. And Heaven´s Fell well really bad luck. but from the Servants the child of light is really someone to like^^
Whether it be as Proto, Lancer or Caster, he takes the spot as my favorite Servant. His personality is charming, his design is really appealing and his abilities in ANY class are top-notch. A lot of people underestimate him, because Kirei used him as an scout, but he is actually one of the strongest Servants of the Fate universe. Summoned in Ireland, he is at the same level that Heracles, Karna or Arturia. Basically, Cu is best dog. Now and ever. Great video, pretty informative.

Cu Chullain is restricted by his master and then forced to kill himself, Diarmuid never got the chance to finish his duel with Arturia and Karna was interrupted by one rider wielding another rider's noble phantasm. They and berserkers are the only servants able to face sabers in fair one vs one melee combat. I would like to see a fair fight to the end between them.
One of Fate series most underestimated husbandos...doggy is really quite powerful in myth lore, he's irish Achilles after all but the class system really nerfs him.
xxChainingHeartsxx That's the point of the class system; nerfing the Heroic Spirit into a manageable state while still leaving some specialized traits intact so they're not squandered.
pwnorbepwned I thought it was because the grail couldn't summon them in their complete 100% forms ala true resurrection so the nerfing was just a loss of their natural abilities while class system helps to accommodate the issue by filling the blanks with class skills.
Recently, I've come to realise that Lancer might be my favourite (male) servant. Still wish they used his Fate/Prototype appearance in the actual series. Looks so much cooler and actually what I'd imagine an Irish warrior would look like, unlike his blue tights that make him look like a power ranger.
Lincoln Beckett-Scott I thought the spandex was parallel to celtic warriors fight naked with blue paint. if he appears to be irish it would be easy for enemies to narrow down who he is, his spear is already a dead give away
Best dog Cú's time to shine!! He really is one of the most tragic heroes, I believe a few of the accounts he's said to have tied up to the pole with his own entrails on his death. Being Lancer is suffering.
PaulNBlack Actually, the stories state that Cu Chulainn tied himself to a tree or a boulder with his entrails so that he would not die on his knees, but rather standing proudly on his feet. It's why he has A rank battle continuity in Fate.
Lancer has always been one of my favorite characters because of how earnest he was about what he wanted and due to my own shitty luck at times..... in fact i like the 4th lancer too, that dude deserved a better master

@@kziila0244 Well, that was artificial, he still qualifies for berserker due to his fit of insanity during the conflict against Queen Medb. Just like how Jeanne qualified for Avenger due to being a hero who was demonized.
You should have at least mentioned the ríastrad warp-spam monster he turned into during the Cattle Raid of Cooley. It's a really famous anecdote of him along with Ferdiad's and Connla's deaths.
i really Love these Fate Lore Videos, as they help you to understand the Fate Lore, one if the most complex in Pop Culture, better, more precise and more effeciently. i really hope that you first do all the original FSN-Servants before exploring the other stories and servants :) I am especially interested in Caster or Medea, and of course in Archer/Shirou, as these 2 are touched upon, i mean Archer has basically his own Route, but not completely explained. she doesn't much have a role in fate tho, aside from being the Ruler of Great Holy Grail War in Fate/Apo and her role as the 2nd ruler-class (the other ruler is Jeanne-Alter) in Orleans Singularity in F/GO
Wow...His story sheds new light on his character in my eyes. The guy lived life as a true warrior would. Though his ending is really sad, and his master from the 5th war didn't deserve what happened.
I know this makes little sense but sometimes I think Lancer was Rin's servant before Archer became a thing, it might be because of how much Lancer wished he was her servant instead and how in Extra Rin gets Lancer.

Hey DaiKun, a small piece of friendly critique. I think noting some character's roles/endings in routes they played a lesser role in are still worth mentioning. (Albeit more succinctly, maybe?) For example, I think Cu's final act in the Fate route was even better than in UBW. It's just a thought I had after seeing a Cu video without my favorite Cu moment. =)
It's funny, I never liked any of the Fate series, but I always thought the reimaginings of classic stories and legends were really cool. In the end I like watching these videos about Fate much more than watching the actual shows. I think that is the sign of a channel doing its job really well, when you can pull in viewers who wouldn't otherwise be interested in the topics your discussing.

Not done watching yet, but at 3:43 you say that Scathach is strong enough to even handle demigods. That's wrong. She was strong enough to even handle gods, not just demigods. She also didn't just abandon her immortality by choosing to live in and guard the land of shadows. She became that way(lost her humanity and became essentially immortal) from killing too many divine and phantasmal beings, after which she chose to stay in the land of shadows(where she remains still alive and still fighting even in the modern era, which is why she normally can't be summoned as a servant, she simply wasn't dead (in F/GO, the land of shadows disappeared while she was in it, so she became possible summon)).

I'm not sure what it says on the wiki, but I'm surprised you didn't mention the reason he lost his finale fight is because a geis forced him to eat dog along with other damaging geis that exhausted him. that's what I've read at least. and I don't know if this is accurate but I thought fergus die of a spear to the chest while swimming not fighting cu chulainn. otherwise I really like these kinda of videos you're doing great job. can't wait for the tsukihime video

After watching and rewatching, I am starting to think Cu Chulian threw in the towel when he refused Rin request to pact. If strikes to the heart with Gae Bolg truly couldn't be healed with mana, the heart pendent couldn't have saved Shirou right? Rin's strength as a master surely could have boosted him to a new form like it did for saber. Maybe Cu Chulian didn't have a full understanding the workings. Almost all the servants, except Beserker lol, said stuff that contradicted what another servant said. What if its actually me interpreting the rules wrong!?! Is Utofable lying to me!?! Otaku, am I going crazy?
My favorite Lancer, my loyal dog. No seriously, he's saved my ass so many times in part 1 that I've already lost count. And his legend is so epic, the fact that he fought a one man war for days and tied himself to a rock with his own guts so he could die on his feet is fucking metal.

Wait a minute, did you just skipped the reasons of why Medb attacked Ulster? It is explained in the Táin Bo Cualinge. She wanted the Donn Cualinge, which is a brown bull, since she wants to have equal richness as her husband Allil. However, the woman who owns Donn Cualinge refuses to give her bull causing, Medb to go nuts and attack Ulster. The curse on the Ulstermen was placed by Macha a member of the Tuatha Da Danann, since the king forced her to participate in a race while she was pregnant. And so Macha placed a curse which prevented all warriors from Ulster to defend themselves. Also, Cu Chulainn actually died because he refused Morrigan's love, and she took the shape of three different creatures to kill him, yet Cu Chulainn always defeated such shape. Cu Chulainn was indeed mortally wounded the first time but his father Lugh cured him. When Cu Chulainn realizes the Ulstermen were killed, he suffers his most well known warp spasm turning into a terrible monster, killing thousands of warriors from Connacht. Block all his spear atk that are deadly to even somepne with mind's eye 2. counterattack againts it (and it is hard to do in HEMA) 3. and manage to wound him, thus disarming him and his spear was used againts him or he redirected the spear unto cu chullain that guy deserve a promotion

I've only watched the fate/extra one ~ also yeah, what about EMIYA lore ... really really confused on how EMIYA became a counter guardian, yeah I know he become one because he followed kirei's ideal until the very end but why did he did that and what route? (The closest one IMO is the superhero bad end in HF but somehow just doesn't seem to connect some points).

Just a slight note on the Lore for you of how the actual story of Setanta vs the hound went he didn't actually strangle the dog the correct story has him use the hurl he had brought with him from the hurling game he had just finished and then using that hurl to shoot a sliotar (the small ball used in hurling) down the dogs throat when he moved to attack him. Just said I'd give that little input grew up hearing the story enough times I have a hard time forgetting it might be written down as strangled in a few versions of the story but the main version we talk about her in Ireland is the one with the Hurl and Sliotar
