I have had watched a family members 2 boys, from the age 12 to teens & sometimes now. Now I just pointing out my experiences & what works for them. They don't like physical touching very uncomfortable for them. Since I have been around them ( love them) since birth, for example my hug to them is 2 taps on the shoulder & they give 2 taps back. Small note- eye contact is hard for them, they give a fast glance to someone they are comfortable with but otherwise meeting new people, for example- their mom or dad will say- say hi & they will say hi (the best way they could, non- verbal too) & give a wave but no eye contact. Their parents take pictures & that is ok for them, but uncomfortable for some reason if its video, & they could take video without them knowing but because they know they are uncomfortable & can not express that, to give them respect, they don't.

I work in a school if you are working and being paid you can not or your not supposed to be taking and posting pictures with your student or students!!!!

Honestly I didn't even realize it until a couple of years later that the phone calls, randomly showing up on all of my breaks and basically trapping me in the classroom, wanting to know what I'm up to and where was stalking. It totally explained the crippling anxiety I developed over school for the next two years. I understood why I always looked to the classroom door when the teacher announced a break. Checked all the hallways. Thankfully in that semester my brain somehow new I wasn't safe (I was dealing with other trauma as well) and I stopped going to class. Failed a semester, but I still think that I may have saved my wellbeing.

@@MrShaniyahlewis Yes, it could still happen. If she wasn't all over the internet, maybe it would happen less often. What kind of parents let those things stay up that were said about her? When my son was in middle school, he had a creep approach him over xbox. It was a game that only he and people he knew in real life played. He kept sending my son messages that weren't nearly as bad as what was said about Abbie. My son told him to knock it off and when he didn't my husbabd talked to the guy and took care of it. My 12 year old middle schooler had more sense than these so called parents.

My friends would be like “we are all gonna hang out at Pizza Hut, you coming?” I’d be like ummmm I’ll meet you at the movies after or something. And dunkin? Maybe you love their coffee, but does anyone truly love their food? Even when they make a good food item they are completely inconsistent about it. Of all the establishments to be attached to...ugh.

They also keep trying to get her to like coffee. Like why? Abby doesn't need to drink coffee for crying out loud.

I absolutely agree, when I first saw that creepy person who talked about having a sex doll and stuff, My immediate thought was this person could be working in a doctor's office or at a school! How hard would it be to take a student or a patient out of the line of sight of the parents!

I’ve commented on that. And when I say I know what it is like when my family tried to make me do things I clearly stated I didn’t want to do. And I mention I can clearly say no, I don’t want to do x. But while Abby can’t say No, she does it with her actions and body language. And she can’t communicate I don’t want to do x now but maybe I’ll do it later. Give her a break. You want her to go swimming? Don’t push her towards,the pool and try to corral her if she goes to leave. In her own way, she might be thinking let me do what they want and then they will leave me alone.

When home schooling started last spring, Priscilla was making lunch but getting Abbie involved. She was doing fine. But Abbie wasn’t interested and was trying to leave. IIRC, Priscilla said she would put the food away and when Abby wanted lunch, they could do something then. At some point, Asa said he was leaving to go do something else. Nope, he stayed and even took over from Priscilla and said nope, this is better. Abby complied but I felt she might have done it just to avoid dealing with him. And he was undermining Priscilla instead of having her back. A reverse splitting so to say. Usually it’s like a kid that says to themselves well, Mom said I can’t go the party so I’ll ask Dad. And if he asks, I’ll say Mom was too busy but Dad was just hanging out. So Dad says yes and when Mim finds out, there’s that issue that I said no so why did you go to Dad? This is the opposite. Don’t listen to mom. She doesn’t know. Listen to me, I know better.

Asa, at least when he’s talking about something like why they got lawyers and accountants to set up trusts and the like, you can tell he put the effort into thinking about what he wants to say. But when he goes off the cuff, say showing they are the “cool parents”, I cringe. It’s like watching third graders in a school play they write and directed themselves. Isiah usually looks uncomfortable and Priscilla with the fake smile and the batty eyes and affected voice. Notice they no longer see the Brazees and Lauren, who visited often, even before her pregnancy, was there less often. And Kaidale’s mom is the new “bestie”. Something happened there. And god, yeah, try to be in tune with your kids but I don’t care if you are very young kids. You have one kid in college and another about to be 16. And when Isiah came home for the first time with a bunch of friends for the first time from college, I get that they want to see him and spend time with him and stuff but it seemed like Asa and Priscilla got themselves involved as much as possible in the kids’ weekend. What college kid is going to turn down a free meal? So of course, they took everyone out to dinner. When I was 18, my friends would see my parents if they came over but my parents were always like If you are going to make the movie on time, you should go now. It was never Oh, I want see that movie too so well join you. My parents wanted to see the movie, they went by themselves at another showing.

Exactly! I loved Crazy Nanny. She really had a heart of gold. She couldn’t help that Abbie’s and her art collaborations were sold by Asa and Priscilla. I think something was said after the first year of ornaments and by the second year, Nanny was out the door. We seen her less and less and it seemed a riff was formed and a story about another family needing her more made up (or maybe they gave her more hours and she decided to jump ship while it was good)... She makes a reappearance for donations but rarely is on camera too.. Brandi had a heart of gold too but I think she didn’t know how to handle Asa. She tried to do what she could with Abbie but without follow up and continuing on using the skills and suggestions, Abbie just couldn’t grow. Asa believed he knew better than Brandi and would constantly talk over her or try to change what she was saying around to fit his narrative. The reduction of hours and “surviving ABA” per Priscilla, was only due to Abbie not progressing anymore and Medicaid will not continue paying for services if a child isn’t progressing. This is all due to what Brandi sees when she was working with her and what she is required to document. It was horrible that one of the last visits, Asa nor Priscilla could take time away and meet with Brandi to go over things that needed to be worked on, but had Becca sit with her instead... It goes to show, the decline of great help that is leaving and I believe it is in direct correlation to the exploitation that is getting worse and worse...

She did have a long while off due to Covid but came back they said on a consult only bases because per Asa “Abbie has done so well that she doesn’t need Brandi anymore, like she use to” and Priscilla has eluded to that Abbie has survived ABA and has came out better on the other side. In reality, Abbie has had no follow thru on PECS chart of scheduling (the big red folder with pictures and creating a schedule) that we seen the Maass family only use 1-2 times when Brandi wasn’t there but she used all the time. We rarely seen the iPad used, though Brandi stated constantly that Abbie needed it in reach at all times, so she can learn to verbalize her wants and needs better. Brandi talked about having the family using Abbie’s sign language back to her, we never see that done. This list can go on and on. Therapy doesn’t stop when the therapist walks out the door but Asa and Priscilla really got lazy and believe that it does. Eventually, Medicaid does stop paying, if they don’t see growth. Abbie hasn’t been progressing in the goals Brandi and Asa set up, so naturally, eventually, therapy will get cut and eventually defunded by Medicaid. I think Asa and Priscilla are paying out of pocket for the consults because at least in my state, ABA doesn’t pay for parent consults but only when working with the client and my state and Florida usually run on the same rules bases.. Also, a respite worker is never allowed to be working when our ABA therapist is in the home. It is a huge red flag on Medicaid, yet, they left Becca to talk with Brandi... No idea why, not like Becca is suppose to work on goals with Abbie...

@@oldhager7268 you nailed it anyone who knows about IEPs, speech therapy and special education could see how they were not following through with her goals at home she's only given her AAC when they ask her what she wants to eat most of her day she's left voiceless and option less a combination of PECS, signing and her AAC could give her a well rounded vocabulary and most likely cut down on her aggressions and meltdowns as well as other unwanted behaviors like her PICA very telling when strangers are more concerned about her education than her parents

This. It's as if they don't feel that their child needs protection. Don't think about age, don't think about disability. Who wants their child to feel uncomfortable and unsafe all the time like that. I find it extremely weird that people make fan pages for kids. Like fan pages for Everleigh LaBrant and stuff like that. Ummm. Wtf??

The fact that they do these sorts of meet-&-greet events at ALL is just absolutely sickening to me. Abbie's parents aren't idiots -- they surely MUST know that at least some percentage of their daughter's "fans" are into her because of more nefarious reasons than her role in spreading autism awareness. There are a LOT of creeps & sexual predators out there who definitely watch their channel. The fact that Asa & Priscilla exploit Abbie by parading her around at these meet-&-greet events like she's a goddamn dog or a show pony & not, y'know, an actual human being is bad & dehumanizing enough... but when you think about the fact that they clearly MUST know that some of the people who come to these events are creepsters/predators, & they still force Abbie to meet, hug & take pictures with these people regardless... it literally makes me feel sick to my stomach. They clearly value money & the potential to grow their fanbase above ALL ELSE, even their own daughter's safety & wellbeing. If that isn't BLATANT child exploitation, then I really don't know what is. It's sick. How ANYONE supports this family is beyond me.

They could choose activities and outings that are good for her, not for them. Having meets and greets is not the best thing for her, even I know that. Too much stress and people.

People who are sick like that would stop at nothing. It could take years of planning and finally one day they finally get the nerve. Her parents have absolutely set the scene for something very bad to happen and not just to Abbie, they could all be hurt or worse in the process. This is the kind of stuff movies are made of. If something does happen, God forbid, it's their fault and no one else to blame. They've given the creepers ALL the info they need to pull off whatever creepy dangerous thing they want to.

Well I'll tell you this. My daughter is IDD/autistic. Me and my husband rotate to take care of her. No nannies. Just use. I work full time as a nurse caring for sick preemies/neonates. I spend my free time with her because I love and enjoy her company. On that note, I do have a housekeeper biweekly and it's been a God send for us.

THIS! i cant even begin to fathom the agony shes going through mentally, physically, and emotionally while being forced to do these things. I wouldn't wish those 'over stimulated panic attacks' on my worst enemy, and yet here we have this sweet girl who's being paraded around like a dancing monkey for the selfish benefit of her caretakers. I hope to Heaven that covid has pushed those meet and greets far far from ever happening any time soon. I began watching their channel a year or so ago and I always felt something off about the parents. I could never pin point what it was, but now that I've found this channel, it all makes sense.

Check out the video where they took her to a hockey game. They got really high up seats. The poor baby was in tears. Hearing her cry broke my heart.

I'm in Ireland so the law is different to where Abbie lives I'd like to think the same would apply for the person's privacy especially when they can't consent to the photo being shared

I believe it varies by state. I'm in NY, I also work with children and adults with developmental disabilities and it is illegal to post any names, photos or any identifying information UNLESS the individual has a consent form which many do not unless they are very high functioning . We sign disclosures stating we won't share information and if we do its grounds for termination and an investigation through an institution called The Justice Center and can be quite scary. It can lead to fines, charges, job termination. It's very strict in NY if you are working with other honest people. There's a lot of abuse that happens when you get people who shouldn't work anywhere near an individual with disabilities.
