FC 24 is NOT GOOD - Review 

It is the same thing every year. They either make minor menu changes to make it look new or they make a “new” feature that was in the game before

it's crazy to me that people will be reminiscing about this game in 5-7 years as if it was a golden age because of what EA will do in the future.

The removal of prematch walkouts and lineups is almost a dealbreaker for me and this game as a career mode player.

Fun fact : EA spends more money on marketing to fool us consumers than actually making a good football game

Btw. The only reason there are massive packs already is because everybody was given 4.8k fifa points for pre-ordering the game. EA know people will get excited, buy them with no promos, and not make many coins. Most who have done that rather than saving the points will then buy more points later on in the game

I used to play FIFA religiously since FIFA 08 until 23, because the last 5 years I gave gained more attention to Football Manager. And imo Football manager is a better game then FIFA

Idk if it's just me but the entire branding being different for every FIFA back in the day is what made it for me. I've been bored to death by this same exact look for years on end. The changes are minimal. This is a multibillion dollar company we're talking about. How hard is it to refresh things a bit.

I’ve actually enjoyed the last 2 games, I don’t think that the big store packs are that much of an issue because when you really look at the details the packs aren’t that good. You can have a good team without buying these packs. The menus in 24 are much much better than 23 in terms of usability but the crashing is an issue. The gameplay in 24 is promising but the defending does feel a little weird at times, other than that tho I don’t really have any complaints

One crucial thing that wasn't mentioned about Player Career mode: They've removed the ability to request loans and transfers. This really breaks it for me, I started a career mode, saw there was no possible way to go on loan anywhere or request a transfer to see which random clubs may want me. And the fact that fulfilling the objectives for your target club is piss easy, it's so arcadey now. I won't say it's bad, it's an interesting take, but it's nowhere near what I want it to be. Might just stick to 23 for player career mode lol...

Hopefully EA give us more evolutions so i can make a Mohun Bagan (local Indian club) super team in UT….our new CM Thapa has a crazy evolution already

To be fair to ea evolutions is pretty good and we can do it with more players than i thought we could so for example atleast you could upgrade a player like brownhill or some other Burnley player so that alone is more change than in the last 5 years

This years gameplay is absolutely terrible. Players gliding/sliding more than ever, players bending the laws of physics just to get the ball from you.

Every new FIFA game for me (I either pirate it or it’s on game pass) is the same, it’s way too easy and I work my way up the difficulties until I reach a setting where it’s ruthlessly impossible and lose interest. I’m always winning 7-0 or losing 3-0. The whole experience is just trying to find a balanced difficulty. I remember ISS or Pro Evo not having that issue where it seemed pretty fair, every game against a decent opposition was a challenge but i never felt the AI was just arbitrarily f-ing me

I'm just going to wait for the free release for this one, haven't bought a fifa game for 2 years now. I'm mainly a career mode player and the lack of attention to that mode over the years has been awful, yet ultimate team gets everything because its their cash cow. Not surprised about those super packs being released already, they know they can milk content creators because they have to spend the money. I like that you said defensive AI is weaker … would make me so upset losing to people with 50+ tackle attempts with only around 5 successful tackles…. They mess up and the game plays defense for them and recovers, so annoying

EA never ceases to disappoint the more mature and demanding players. Heck, even my 13 years old boy (who never really paid much attention to realism and details) is getting tired of the grotesque and persistent flaws and bugs. Personally, I would not mind paying fortunes for a good football simulator, but these series resemble more a lunatic/kook simulator. AI movements are extremely defective and robotic. AI awareness is often non-existent which absolutely ruins the gaming experience. Overall, the gameplay, players interactions and physics are dreadful. Several bizarre stuff still occurs during gameplay, due to EA's laziness and/or unwillingness to address them. The game is also (and still) highly scripted. EA's simplistic and ruinous way of increasing game difficulty is done by completely ignoring players' stats and attributes, offsetting it with pure scripting, which is another thing that completely exterminates any attempt of satisfaction and enjoyment. They invest in the easy way out (scripting) and disregard the more satisfying and sustainable (AI + Physics). Tbh, when compared to gameplay, I could not care less about cinematics, stadium atmosphere, players' interviews, and all that peripheral aspects of the game. It does add a bit to the gaming experience, but in terms of importance: gameplay is 95% and those other things 5%. These series used to be fun, until the grotesque flaws became so clear and persistent. I stop playing these in 2009 and I never regretted that decision.

Biggest Pro: I really like the gameplay this year. Body checking is massively improved, I always manually defend and I find that body checking actually works this year which is massive for me. Worst Con: Nike Mad Ready is absolutely gross - literally pay to win behaviour and it's only for people who paid the £99 or got the 10 hour trial (me via GPU) (expires on Friday I believe). What's worse is that the objectives give you 1000xp each + the lat objective gives you 2 85+ players. All for something based on luck if you managed to packed a Nike card or paid at least 50K coins for a card. Madness. Also, as a Luton fan, I had to buy it this year lol

Sports games as a genre died for me after it became infested with microtransactions to feed the whales and the skill curve became ridiculous to force people to pay to win. The golden era for me was when career/franchise modes got lots of love and online play was about working on your ladder ranking by playing real teams (circa 08-15).

i found defending easier after swapping it to advanced defensive, yeah its difficult to pick up but i feel more in control of it

The gameplay is making me frustrated because: 1.goalkeepers 2. Glitches (I have got them constantly) 3. Minimal change to gameplay 4. Tri trivella shots need i say more.

It is crazy that I had more customization, more realistic settings and more things to do in Fifa 07 career mode than EAFC 24. Almost 2 decades later…. You’re forced to spend money playing Ultimate team. I hope PES (or whatever the new name) ups their game. Same problem with 2k. They don’t need to innovate anymore without any competition

I genuinely do not understand the appeal of UT. Why is it so popular? For online play, Season's is far more fun and less arcade-like. What we truly need is an online Career Mode taking inspiration from Soccer Manager Worlds where you join game worlds. If you manage Man United in a particular world, only you have those players unless you buy/sell. So you'll never play someone who has the same players as you.

No mention of clubs? OKAY HERE IT GOES. 1. The AI is worse than ever before to the point you almost have to play as any just so they do not pass it straight to the opposition. They have a habit of pushing the ball right in front of them as if they are making a run but it just ends up getting taken by the opposition EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is by far the most annoying thing and they do this every game. Even the AI goalkeeper has seen a decline,at least in the last fifa the GK would just kick it far if it didn’t know what to do but this one brings the ball to his feet and leaves it really easy for any striker to come up and grab it it’s so dumb. The other AI also have literally no touch at all and long passes will cause them to manage to make them knock it out of bounds. 2. The customization is so terrible. There have been multiple times where I have had to edit my character because I notice it changes it’s hair color or nose shape or something every once in a while it’s so annoying. Not to mention the fact that it’s literally impossible to edit the AI appearance as easily as last year. It literally gives them the same face no matter what I do to try to edit it, just deletes all my progress. 3. Drop ins are pretty much useless since losing matches doesn’t mean anything anymore but even if I wanted to play it I can’t. Everyone in my party has to restart the game if they want to play a drop ins match sometimes and I can’t even start it at all. It literally gives me an error every single time I try or connect. I play on the ps4 version for my mates cause I have a ps5 so idk if this version is just bad or what but I’m so disappointed

I have had two FIFA games. FIFA 15, which I played for quite a while (it was a package deal with a PS4) and later I got FIFA 20 on the cheap. So the changes from 15 to 20 were quite significant for me when piling up all the changes from the additions in between.

I played it and I honestly prefer my FIFA 23 with the Realism Mod. It just makes it so much better

It seems like manager mode never gets better.

It's too slow and the movements of the players doesn't feel fluid, it's sluggish and feels awkward.

Hey Vizeh great video as always! Im surprised you havent pointed this new dribbling feature using L1. I mean dribbling is part of the game and i love it too but my point is its absolutely exagerated. Bear in mind the game hasnt even come out yet. Its pretty impossible to defend against and as a result if you are a good player its garanteed you will score and concede at least 4 to 5 goals per game. Again no impact on players fatigue doing skills and dribbling the whole game. How realistic can that be? The game is definitely different but for me so far I find it irritating as everyone is just so focused on dribbling. Even defenders can do it thats insane.😅 Anyway propz man

Seasons is like an online career mode for me, I enjoy it more than the other modes and it hasn't been touched in years. So with the future patches to speed up the game coming soon, average describes it pretty well.

Its the worst game I ever played. Dont play online there they just press R1 and then they run through your complete team hahahahahahaha, they don't realize ITS KILLING THE GAME and its RETARDED.

As someone who’s had about 30-40hrs of playtime on FC 24, all i have to say is: 1) Terrible passing. Both short and long passes are somewhat inconsistent. Had many experiences where i conceded dumb goals bcos there was no weight on the pass made. Over the top through balls felt massively nerfed. Its like the game wants us to slow down and keep passing it around the defence and midfield. 2) Defending is extremely difficult. With controlled sprint introduced, it just feels like everyone is abusing the new mechanic and its not fun to defend it at all. Understand many have asked for manual defending over the years but EA has to nerf controlled sprint a little. Also for some reason, my players cant make clean tackles and the ball keeps spilling after most tackles and this infuriates me so much. 3) Lastly, dribbling feels harder to do. Left stick dribbling is the META. No more depending on agile dribbling which sucks bcos EA basically forced us to learn it in previous FIFAs only to slap us in the face with controlled sprint . Overall, id give this game a 2/10. Its very hard to enjoy FC 24 for me atm. Lets hope EA addresses the issues brought up by the community bcos i do feel that the game had potential to be better.

Kids sweating fut over the past decade have ruined the game. Now it’s just fut 24. Original Fifa players remember the pro clubs, player career normal career, Fifa street.. gameplay is made for fut only too.. embarrassing what money does.

25:35 Also every other sports‘ game has this lmao. I play MLB a lot and they show real stats of players up until the game was released, and then the simulated stats from your career mode save afterwards. And they have a bunch of stats too, shouldn’t be too complicated tbh.

Every time I see people complain about FIFA I never relate. I don’t play Ultimate Team. I don’t play the story mode. I don’t play pro clubs. I play seasons. All I need is good gameplay and better graphics every year. I’m always happy this way, never dissatisfied.

Its absolute bs this game. Me and my mate were playing a match on fifa. It was 2-2, it was the 90th min and 1 min extra time. It went to 95min, the referee doesnt blow the whistle and then we bloody loose.

on the contrary, breaking down defense easily simply because the AI is dumb isn't enjoyable for me and this side. I prefer the FIFA 17 gameplay where every player was a bee and the game had to be played from defense to mid then to the final third. Moving the stick left and right doesn't necessarily make you a good player. taking on challenges makes you one. The current gameplays makes your defense part ways like the red sea which scks and ruins the mood. I would rather my opponent's AI tackle me if I make a bad mistake rather than it letting me go through. Ask yourself, does making bad decisions and winning make you good or bad?? Scoring 13 goals and above is not enjoyable

I'm a nintendo switch player (don't have any other console and my laptop is shite) so I'm kinda excited for this. Already pre-ordered, and I'm hoping it's gonna be different from the "fifa __ legacy edition" we always have. I get that you can't have the same graphics on the switch cause it's smaller, but I'd atleast like to have more features in the game. Like dynamic potential, switch fifa 23 only has the 5 training slots every week you get to pick who you put it on, which I believe is like fifa 19 and before (?). In general it's horrible playing on switch and I'm hoping fc24 is gonna be atleast a bit more different.

How do you know it's not good you've never played it?

FC 24 is anarchy. How do they make a competitive, collectathon game which operates like a card game, but don't have constant regulation to keep the game balanced? If there is a meta, there has to be an anti-meta, and that functions as a cycle to keep the game balanced - the fact that there is no limitations on squads other than not having more than one of the same player, along with the plethora of special cards that have been introduced, along with ridiculous loans like a 99-match loan Haaland or Sam Kerr is downright ridiculous. For context, I play Yu-Gi-Oh competitively, it is necessary in Yu-Gi-Oh that I am only allowed three of the same card per deck, unless it is too overpowered, then official ruling may limit them to 2 or 1 per deck or may outright ban them. This is to keep the game functioning and balanced. I think EA should do the same with players, not outright ban Mbappe or Ronaldinho, but limit special cards within each squad. The game should regularly review ratings for its 'meta' cards and change them accordingly if they break the game. I am not competitive at FC 24 by any means, but I keep seeing the competitive player base getting frustrated to an unhealthy degree, this frustration doesn't do much to help their results, and they are right to be frustrated due to how broken this game's formula actually is. Fun should always be a priority over results.

I had the same mindset on the stadium & other EAFC items. For the stadiums I just apply any stadium I pack, now you can apply items straight away.

Making a menu redesign and selling a game as new is the biggest con ever. EA is being lazy and just tweaking FIFA 23 and repackaging it as a new experience. We're all suckers for buying into this.

Something changed between 2010 and 2015ish. The game stopped feeling arcadey and shifted into a fake realism that just doesn’t work for me. Which is strange, because on paper, realism sounds great. But all it’s done is make the game feel “floaty.”

fc24 for some reason feels better than if it was fifa 24. the menu and match UI feels so much better, and it feels like fifa was holding ea back, specially on the nintendo switch, where its finally the same game as it is in the ps5 and xbox with only a graphic downgrade and lower fps. i mean atleast as a switch user its the best one thats came out on a nintendo console, but it must feel average on other consoles since the only different things are the menu, ui, and other small things

I've had a few occasions with a "ghost" player on the field, I'll be running or passing the ball and it will just stop with nobody around and then start dribbling itself down the field towards my net and it has even tried crossing itself before.... I've noticed it's when the other team gets a red card it is more likely to happen, besides that and the goalkeepers are still dodging some shots to allow goals I've been enjoying it

This game is a horrible mix between fifa 20 and fifa 23 imo defenders stuck in the mud, can’t play attacking football or take risks cos you get countered. I’m having to play anti football to get out of division 7 it’s a game ffs it should be fun and I’m bored already 🤣 menus are also glitchy af

I dont like how the other teams ultimate team isnt guaranteed to be shown and can be skipped too easily.. previous fifas you would always know what team your going up against.. also I havent played since 2015 and some of the skill moves I remember dont work anymore so I have to relearn new ones

The game is the same crap. I won’t be wasting my money buying this piece of crap. It might be playable now, but when they release some new patch everything goes wack. When you buy the game new, EA always gives you 2-3weeks of fun play, then after that you join the other guys whose game is messed up and you’re back to square one. There is no amount of ad that would make me purchase this piece of thrash. I have passed a vote of no confidence on EA, I’m done

I’m just gagging for iconic teams like in NBA 2K. I want to play as Arsenal invincibles, Man United 1999, Barca 08, Brazil 02. It would be such an easy thing to bring in and would get us older players back into it. I only bought Fifa 23 to test it out on my ps5 and loved that they have so many legends to play with now but I don’t want to have to play ultimate team and grind or pay money to use my favourite players from back in the day.

It’s not inherently a bad game, there’s definitely some positives in it, FUT will always be that, it’s the cash cow of the game so it’s going to get the most love and next year more people are like to pay for the £90 ultimate edition next year so they don’t fall behind…it’s clever…shady but clever Gameplay wise…I find the defending massive learning curve, some games too steep to make it enjoyable,attacking wise it’s a lot of fun when you’ve got the elite players, I was lucky to pack Son and he has the gold finesse shot playstyle+ and he’s phenomenal at shooting outside the box

I am very dissapointed that match presentation and lineup presentation is missing. For me as a Career Mode player that feature is really important. And is annoying that on old gen version of EA FC24 is present. I really regret that I bought the game.
