Ashe should fight Lonato so he can get some closure and talk to Lonato before he dies. Besides, it's Lonato that raises his weapon against Ashe first in that dialogue

Just finished that particular chapter on my own BL run (on GD, my first run, I didn't recruit Ashe until literally the last day to recruit people) and I _refused_ to bring Ashe anywhere near Lonato. It ended in F!Byleth getting the shit kicked out of her by Lonato (casual mode so no game over for that; yeah I'm a filthy casual, fight me :P) and Dimitri having to finish the job lol

@@birthdaygnat8314 She knew Jeralt from when she was younger, he's the entire reason she wanted to become a mercenary in the first place. It's probably just not expanded very much at the moment because Jeralt has no supports in the game right now, but has affection points, so he will probably have some supports added later next year with the story update and hopefully he has a support with Leonie that explains a lot more.

@@birthdaygnat8314 I'm not saying its an amazing thought out reason to buy into something, but the fact is that there is some backstory to it and its what drove her character into doing what she does. Hell Leonie isn't even that serious of a character when you dig into her, all of her endings she's basically the clown of the cast of characters and that's saying something when most of Benadetta's supports are played out for comedy and only get serious late into A supports or supports limited to B rank like with Dorothea. We already know there is going to be side story later on and that Jeritza will be playable, so its plausible that someone who has affections points in the game already will be playable then as well, like Jeralt or maybe Rhea.

@@birthdaygnat8314 I'm fine with archtypes as long as they're done modestly or their background/story fits in well with it. Ashe is all about wanting to become a knight because Lonato took him in when he was a petty thief and showed him the kindness of chivalry. Ingrid wants to rebel against her father's wishes because her dream is to be a knight and she's willing to fight for that. Huburt is sinister and acts only as Edelgard's retainer because his family has done it for generations and his father basically forced it on him. Dedue is all about cooking because its all he really has left to show of his dead country. Bernadetta is recluse and a huge worrywart because she was abused and told she was never good at anything. Marianne is depressed and hates herself because her ancestor turned beast because of the crest she has. Yeah Leonie's is for sure not really all that amazing, she's just a tomboy. I wish she had a little more backstory to her, a support with Jeralt would help her so much to show how she started as some little kid girl and seeing this kind strong merc save her village inspire her to be like him and do the same. But oh well, she just got the short end of the stick.

Yea Meloo is using homebrew software such as Edizon and save file editors to do this type of stuff. I know because I already done it myself. It's useful for when you need to grind dialogue and story stuff.

Honestly, I always thought that Female Byleth and Leonie essentially wound up being "sisters" in some roundabout way.

I asked this myself too and looking for an answer here ...

There are some optional battles that are repeatable so what you can do is just play them over and over again without advancing the day, allowing you to grind exp to your heart's content. The battles just get really boring because, well they are the same thing over and over again lol.

In new game+ you can grind on maps without using a battle point so it becomes infinite grinding until you decide to stop

No New Game+ on easy allows you to play battles without using points thus you can grind to your heart’s content.
