Thank you for your video. I really like hearing of your progress with the experiments for growing, flowering and healthy orchids. I'm not confident enough for the more exotic orchids, but love hearing about them all the same.

Dapper dots isn't blooming because it's not getting enough moisture imo. The new bulbs all have aerial roots, so instead of drinking up water, they are getting it from the older bulbs. When you divide it, and get the roots all in contact with moisture in this growing season, I bet it's really gonna take off. I love Catasetums and can't wait to see this one.

"Bright indirect light" in the tropics where most of these are from = brighter than you think *not* in the tropics - particularly here in the UK I think a lot of growers don't understand this difference, so they put their phals in north facing windows and wonder why they don't do so well... Always indirect, but as bright as you can get if you're in northern Europe!

Hello Michael as always it's good to see you on your RU-vid I just want to make a quick comment about water culture I am apprehensive about it just like you I know a lot of plants it's good to regrow roots but again in my opinion I think it's only good temporarily. I know other Orchid Growers out there are doing water culture or semi water culture and like I said in my opinion it's only temporary I would love to try it myself but at the same time I'm kind of scared but anyway thank you for sharing your beautiful Orchids with us. Have a great day keep safe and happy growing : )

My Oncidium Twinkle usualy gives me two spikes per bulb... itc8s normal. Enjoy your wonderful orchids!!!

It could be three spikes on that one Twinkle bulb. They are capable of producing up to four per bulb.

Instead of using duck tape, I use Grifiti Band Joes 8 x 2 Inch 4 Pack Long Lasting Silicone Bootle Grip from Amazon. I will place these bands around the jars/bottles to block the holes for soaking and uncover the holes when I am done with soaking but leave the bands on the jars.

Great videos! Could you do another led lighting video on your SF 1000’s? I’m curious about your experience on the height and sweet spot for sun tanned vs burned orchids. I know you can dial down the power of the SF1000 and was curious if you used that option? Cheers!
