Wonderful truths of thought of drawing students inside themselves. Planting the seeds of the practice. Arising from the students own depth. Love everything you explore demonstrate & draw us to. Om Shanti ❤

Namaste Stephanie❤ This was an A+ presentation! Viewing/listening to your suggestions as an Iyengar teacher myself helped me go back to the basics of a home practice. Thank you for your detailed outline, tools and openness throughout the video!!! Take care and keep these videos coming! 😊😊

Thank you so much for this video!!!! I found it incredibly useful, especially the three stages. I have been practicing iyengar yoga for almost a decade and I have had a home practice on and off but life or injuries (or school) have gotten in the way of keeping it up. I found tip #2 of embracing the short and sweet really helpful. As a perfectionist I want to do long practices but then I don’t have the time and don’t do anything! Or I feel down on myself for only doing a few poses and don’t think it’s good enough :( This was validating to hear. (It also goes with the love loathe invert philosophy! Short and sweet!) The idea of using a journal is new to me and I think it’s what I need to give me confidence for a home practice and in seeing how my body responds to yoga. More of these talking videos every now and then would be wonderful.

haha yes staying motivated is half the battle! Love, loathe, invert and the journal were both instrumental for me. If you give them a try, I would love to hear how you are making out. Keep me posted 😉 .

I tried the journaling the other day in class - it was quite helpful! I would love to join your online classes sometime and chat with you “in person”. -Rebecca

@@pintoreb That's wonderful, Rebecca. it can be a really powerful technique 💜. I'd be delighted to connect with you and have you join me in class! Check out the classes at studiopoyoga.com. My schedule for the rest of July is a bit unusual as I'm off teaching a retreat but shoot me a message if you have any questions (email is best, if possible).

Stephanie, do you have an opinion about doing meditation before or after a practice? I want to schedule both during my day and wondered if you’ve explored meditation as part of your own journey.

Hi there, thank you for this question. I don't have a traditional meditation practice, only pranayama. I tend to practice asana and pranayama at different times of the day. I know many people enjoy pranayama first thing in the morning but I LOVE starting my day with an asana practice and so then I'll typically incorporate pranayama at the end of the day to shift out of work mode, or even before bed. Ultimately, I think it's quite personal. My suggestion would be to try out a couple of options and see what lands best for you. You may even find that your needs change, day to day ;)
