Before there was a King Kenny and a Sir Alex, they were just lads in Glasgow. Beautiful that they've never had a clash despite people wanting to believe it so badly

In 1972 at Celtic Park I used to watch a forward line consisting of Johnstone, Dalglish, Deans, Macari and Lennox. They don't come better than that and it cost 15p. Great memories!!!

I dont get the impression Fergie has ever been intimidated by anyone apart from Kenny. Kenny was the greatest ever player for Liverpool, and probably the greatest Scottish footballer ever. And a man of huge stature.

Being a lifelong united fan, season ticket holder since 64 this guy Kenny was one of the best players I've ever seen, absolute genius, love listening to old interviews by the gods of football, some good ones on RU-vid, shanks, busby especially..

Agree am 48 and Kenny was my hero hed hold his own v the so called Goat's 😂 the goal he scored v spain to send us to world cup was brilliant. The goal he scored v Chelsea as player manager unbelievable..rush to Dalglish chest volley bang

All we Scots are never up for a fight, on the contrary we are sweet-natured, gentle, unassuming, modest, non confrontational, shy and peaceful folk. And we LOVE our english neighbours...)😊😁😉🤔.... 2 of my schoolboy heroes here, alang with Matt Busby, Jock Stein & all of the Lisbon Lions and all of the Scottish Rugby XVs 🏉.

Both were Rangers supporters . As was Kenny's Da , who advised Kenny to sign for Celtic after Jock Stein went to their house and spoke to them .

I was born & raised in Glasgow. (The old Gorbals, then Pollok.) I loved playing football in the park, street, stretch of grass somewhere with my pals & whoever else wanted to join in. Sometimes our plastic "Regulation" ball would burst & more often than not we'd manage to repair it by using a red-hot knife to mould the plastic over the puncture. Then it was "back to the game"!

We had more good players in each of the 60s, 70s or 80s than we have had since. That's the problem. They mined footballers in the Lanarkshire coal fields back in the day and most of them were exported to England. Those days are long gone.

As a big United fan back then I must admit that it was a stroke of luck for Sir Alex when Kenny surprisingly resigned in February 91 the men who followed weren’t in his class Graham took his bung and it was much like it is today for Pep no serious opponents the two rivals for the title in 93 were Villa and Norwich. They were top managers though .

Could be that when he signed for Celtic they were European Champions and starting a run that would see them win the league nine years in a row also in his ten years at Celtic they would win the Scottish Cup six times ,beating their Glasgow rivals in three of the finals .I also remember in his early days him being in the Celtic side that beat Rangers three times in as many weeks ,I could go on but you get the picture.
