Funny story: When I beat this boss as a kid I had the sound off so I didn't hear this glorious music. I was also rushing to eat dinner and somehow beat him on my first try.
@@michaelkilbane1185 I mean, it’s postgame only, but the fight against Dynal when he’s using all 3 Dinaurian vivosaurs is absolutely the most brutal fight the series has to offer.
@@brunolinares604 This theme rocks, and those fights are significantly harder. Like this first fight can easily be beat without a single vivosaur, and it has epic climatic very fitting story wise music. Yet the final rematch where you need a specific build for any hope at winning has the generic boss theme?! Kinda stupid, I wish I complained about this in my review now. 😭
1:35 I remember that choir giving my 10 year old self some existential dread for some reason. Considering the hardware they had at the time, they really pushed the limits with this.
@@utryping No, when I wrote that I was talking about my troodon. It has a 100% success rate but never works, and I use it in the SZ attacking the AZ as a sort of backup. In my entire time using troodon, I have only successfully poisoned someone once with its 100% poison rate.

I actually was really sad when I realized that this was one of the only times in the game where the theme would play by itself without going to the music people. It's a gem that I might remix some day
@@Cole-xq2tl I think the most notable thing is his stats in champions. His LP was cut in half and all his other stats is lower compared to the original (put a silver fossil and the stats get even worse). Most of his skills cost a lot more FP too. Sadly I didn't get to unlock him because of the Wi-Fi shutdown.

Am I the only one who thinks while battling him, this song plays, and when you beat him after a well fought battle, the victory song just hits different?
This is one of THE greatest boss themes of all time.... dare I say it, it rivals One Winged Angel! ..... yet just like the series itself it is way overlooked by many except for us devoted fans....

But maybe that's because I haven't played FF7, so I didn't know whether you were comparing it to OWA because you liked both songs, because you probably *have* played FF7. But I just made a few assumptions, so feel free to correct me.
@@yuyaricachimuel555 I see. They're both really good. I think I just prefer Dynal's theme because I played Fossil Fighters as my first video game pretty much ever, so it's definitely ingrained in my mind.
After beating him _which took me years_ it felt so fulfilling I remember jumping up and down while crying tears of joy. If you know you really know😭 But afterwards I oddly seen him with love and respect as a father-like figure. Just wanna say in case anyone is stuck with FF's or having trouble with things in life you are not alone and can get through this! 💛

This battle is way harder than the Guhnash one! I marathoned this game to this battle when I was about 6 and quit out of frustration when I got to this battle. I came back when I was 9 and picked up where I left off. When I was 6 I was terrible at strategizing, so i focused on attack, when I was 9 I knew better so I went and searched for Maiasaura, because I had gotten one of its bones and was curious to see what it would be. After finding all but the head, I eventually got the vivosaur, it had a healing ability, I threw it into my team, I practiced with it and then battled Dynal. I won the battle using my first strategizing vivosaur. Eh, Nowadays I don't suck like I did anyway, I'm replaying it. Well I'll continue to replay it when I find my damn DS!
Dino Dare You do know there's such thing as focusing on strategy, and attack at the same time right? I ran in with Futabi, Ourano, and Spinax. Futabi and Ourano lowered defence by 32 when combined. So spamming Spinax combo until Cyclone became available was a viable strategy.
The best villian from the franchise, though Don Boneyard and Zongazonga are practically on the same level. Also when I first fought him I had thd music off and just rushed through the fight(my team was over-leveled)
When I first heard this, I was freaked out, and it also didn't sound like a battle theme to me for some reason, it sounded like something that would play outside of battle
Woogie Master he actually breaks the second time you battle him after you beat the game when you have to battle him to recover something for Dr.Diggins. he literally sucks in that battle but afterwards when you battle him a 3rd time it's practically impossible to beat him.

I'll be real here. I preferred the world level event with Guhnash than the shenanigans with ZZ, but as bosses. I'd rate them about the same. Beneath King Dynal. The king indeed.
now the question is if their was a cross over between Pokemon and fossil fighters what tier would dynal be I would say Ubers or OU his stats would be this 130 hp 150 atk 120 def 80 sp.atk 120 sp.def and 50 speed so his BST would be 650 and would have a ability to lower atk and special attack or something else
My favorite game ever by FAR!!! Screw Mario kart, screw sonic adventure 2, screw Pokemon in it's entirety! THIS game was the SHIT when I was growing up. Beat Saurhead and got ignosaurus and got all the dinaurians AND Gunash vivosaurs late game. The story was amazing and it had a worthy as all hell sequel! It's so polished for 2008. My idea for Dynal as a fighter for a hypothetical Super Smash Bros. 6: Special Attack (B): Royal Fang (bites the opponent) Up + B: Regal Combo (a spinning attack, similar to Bowser’s Up + B) Side + B: Imperial Wrath (spits venom at his opponents, can be charged similar to Squirtle’s Side + B) Down + B: Rex Roar (powers himself up and blows away opponents by roaring) Final Smash: Mass Extinction (an all-out attack using the dinaurians’ Team Skills: Dynal’s Antimatter Beam, Duna’s Sapphire Beam, and Raptin’s Positron Beam)
How is he even possible the 2nd time, his support effects make pretty much all your AZ stats go down by 70, even with my shanshan and V-raptor they were still down by like 30
Reptil, Prince of lizard people what team did you use? I also had no trouble with him the second time (when he had compso and penta) or the third time (when he had duna and raptin), but I had an overpowered team the second time and a specialized team the third.
Melonisgone depends on what you mean by "second time". If you mean when you're trying to get the time machine piece, just get a strong attacker and any two of the overpowered support vivosaurs ,compso, smilo, sopteryx, or guan and target his compso before anything else (I used Lambeo in AZ and compso and sopteryx in SZ and just kept attacking compso and confusing dynal, worked wonders for me). If you mean fighting him when he has duna and raptin, have frigi in the az and compso and orno in the sz and only use the move Ice Age. Or if you don't have frigi, I think a strong attacker that's team skill compatible with orno and compso should work too.
