Man, every time I think about the Full ATB skills in 13 I just think they were such a missed opportunity. Who else looks at Army of One and thinks "the slow-mo parts look cool and all, but they also slow down the actual combat -- maybe we could input some buttons to keep the combo going or something to stay engaged"? Maybe match that by making Hope's a charged effect (release at the perfect moment for more blasts), and Sazh's a rapid-fire attack where you have a couple seconds window to spam fire? I just hate that each one for a given Paradigm is functionally the same (with the singular nuance of Army of One taking so long to execute that you can switch to COM during), especially with the two COM skills even being nearly identical animations.
They always felt a little underwhelming. I never really felt like I was in a position where the limit break was a tide turner in the fight. Plus the fact that nothing stops you from using it every turn your character has (assuming you’re in a position in the fight where you can push the offense) waters it down a bit.
