Cactuars are the best enemies for memes but the worst to fight. "1000 needles" deal 1000 damage regardless of defense and since he's a Gigantuar he can do "10000 needles"

Well, the cactuar king in FFX looks like a normal, small one But his attacks are 10k needles and 99k needles

I know a known tactic in XI when we had to deal with Cactus NMs we had to have EVERYONE huddle up on the boss cause the Needle Damage gets divided among each person in range of it

Have you unlocked the ability to use chocobos? If you haven't, I'm pretty sure you need them to jump to the particular cliff where the cutscene triggers. If you have, then eh? Not sure? As for the Gigantuar cutscene, you need to accept a B grade mission from a C'ieth stone, which, from memory, is right near a cliff edge with herds of enemies all around. They lied about it being B grade; for the uninitiated it's one of the hardest fights in the game -__-

It's only when you, the team leader is down it's an automatic Game Over. You can continue the fight if your teammates are down. You can only use Phoenix Down on your teammates, not you. They changed it in XIII-2 when you're down, you immediately switch to the next member in your party.
