I don't like this boss. It's finnicky, some of the timings are weird, and most of all, ITS SO ORANGE. It's orange mechanics from an orange boss on an orange stage surrounded by an orange fire wall set against an orange backdrop. Just...why?
In addition to being faster, the dark plumes have an additional mode that requires 2 stacks, one ranged/healer stack and one melee/tank stack. It's not traditional light parties.
Add phase, the same rules apply in normal, but 4 spawn at a time, and you have to do it twice. In the second time, the birds will tether a person, and then that person will tether another person. They then dash at them in sequence. Note that it's not safe to stay still after being dashed once, as the second dash has a fairly large hitbox and will hit the first target twice given the chance.
Fountain of Fire (5:57) - Orange (because of course it is) circles spawn in a ring on the outside of the arena, and buff the boss if they are not soaked. Whoever soaked it takes enormous amounts of damage, but gains a massive healing up buff. This allows the soakers to heal themselves through all of the damage. We had healers soak the fountains. At the same time, the boss will target the closest 2 players with an aoe that spawns a bird that will dash through the player that spawned it. We had a fixed bait order (melee - ranged - tank) and had them run their birds through the middle of the arena, making sure not to hit the healers on the way out.
Firestorms of Asphodelos (7:09) - Three tornadoes will spawn living liquid style (but their positions seem to be fixed). The boss will then do three sets of mechanics:
In the first, the boss will do a spiral of triangle AoEs, and then follow with an ashplume (spread or light parties).
In the second, the boss will fire proteans at the three closest players, while each tornado also fires a protean, while two tankbuster tethers target players. Players have to be careful not to shoot each other with the various whatnots.
In the third, the boss will do empower each tornado with a color, and then do 4 baitable eruptions. The purple tornado knocks back, while the orange (because why wouldnt it be) tornadoes do a donut AoE. This follows immediately into another ashplume. Use your melee vs ranged groups to get knocked back toward different tornadoes and then resolve the mechanic.
Death's Toll/Life's Agonies (8:35) - Boss hits everyone with 1, 2, or 4 stacks of a debuff, and then targets 4 players with Fledgling Flight. These 4 will place their...eyes (?) pointing inward toward the middle. Players need to get hit by the same number of cone aoes as they have stacks, so they should position to get hit by the correct number. Note that the Life's Agonies raidwide hits hard as hell, so heal and mitigate properly.
