It inspired me to play this game just like he had with so many other games. I've been playing for a while now and I can honestly say I love this game. Not a MMO but the Trails series is a long running JRPG series that does long term story-telling really well. There are story arcs and there is a lot of overlap in characters, including one major antogonist that are a secret society like the Ascians You should definitely check it out!

Hey Trin, I am so glad to see more of your FF14 content, I recently started playing the game (2 month ago) and wanted to ask, how can I convince friends to try it as well?

Based on what you said about long-term storytelling and such, you might enjoy Guild Wars 2 - while it definitely drops a plot thread now and then, it still does a far better job than most MMOs in my book. The gameplay is quite different, and there unfortunately isn't a samurai class (yet, at least, the next expansion is going to the setting's Asian region so anything is possible), but it still might be worth a try if you're looking for some variety.

100% agree on the NieR stuff, I dont mind the crossovers but it hogging the entire 24 man is kind of sucky, especially as a final fantasy fan who plays the final fantasy game for final fantasy stuff and I hadn't played any of the DrakenNier stuff
