This is just the best information available on post op care. Incredible. I just got face lipo and the swelling isn't going away. But these tips definately seem like they are the answer...thank you so much for this info..
Great video. I had chin lipo done two weeks ago and I’ve already seen an improvement in my healing from following your techniques. Thank you for the informative video!
I just had my procedure yesterday but I watched your video a couple months ago, along with other videos, I found yours very informative and much more helpful than the others. I was catching myself clearing my throat a lot (felt like a frog was stuck) and after following your techniques I immediately felt some relief. I will continue with your regimen daily. Thank you very much for taking your time creating this video. It is so appreciated!!
I just had my lipo 18 days ago. No instructions How to massage, just to do it after 2 weeks of operation. Great video, thank you! ☺️ Greetings from Finland 🌺☀️
This is a great video. I already do most of this myself but some of these are some great tips. I find adding compression actually causes me more swelling. My dr wanted me to use compression for 3 months. I even tried using lipo foam because I have two spots on my neck that look like “grandma” neck now and thought it was compression adding the wrinkling. I do massages a couple times a day, specially because by my neck “bands” it burns/stings so trying to help desensitize that area.
I had my underchin done 1 month ago and after 3 days i had fibroses all over my neck and chin. But i went to see a massage therapist and now i only have very little. it is clearing. Also with your advice i do it everyday at home and once a week at the massage therapist. Also i am still wear my garment with lipo foam every night when going to sleep all of this helped a lot. finally i am seeing the result because after 1 month it is still a bit swollen and very sensitive. It is advisable to do 10 massages at least with the massage therapist. My plastic surgeon told me to get the massages. Thanx a lot.
@@sv0726 same. Got it on the same day as you. Doctor told me i could stay away from the garment after 6 days, i wear it anyway. But now i have two hard swollen rolls on my neck 😩 how is yours going?
@@LaUra-nf3fd Hey there sorry I'm just now responding, I started to bet lymphatic massages so far I've had 3 and they have helped a lot. Also staying away from salty food. Hope your doing better, also try icing it and gently stretch out your neck, and self massage.
Hey Santi Vargas. I have a hard knot under my chin after neck lipo almost two weeks ago. I see you’re 3 months out now. Did you do these massage techniques and did your knots go away?
This video is extremely helpful! I'm a month post-op and been doing everything according to my plastic surgeon (lymphatic massage therapy, self-massaging between sessions, compression garment for 2 weeks straight and now only at night) but have had a lot of scar tissue/ fibrosis and still feel swelling under my chin. I'm going to see about using the foam and cupping tool. Thank you!
@@exosport1008 Yes, I have used it a couple times. I think I have liked the extra foam when I'm using my compression garment best though. I have seen improvement, it's just taking time. Hope it works for you :)
I had mine done 3 days ago and this massage made a huge difference and reduced my discomfort instantly. How long do you recommend self massage be performed and how many times per day?
I am 6 weeks post op and only got my massages twice due to unrelated medical issues that kept me from getting my massages . Now that I’m better I’m wondering if it’s too late to start getting my massages. I don’t look as “snatched” as I would like to, but I definitely see the difference. I know it takes a few months to see results but I’ve seen women with great results so fast. I’m getting discouraged 😢
How frequently should I do this? I’m 1 month post op. You are a life saver. I’ve been so scared of doing this on my own. I took a before and after picture and the difference is huge! God bless you!
Got mine done in Mexico after the procedure immediately They gave me massage. My pricing came with 10 ultrasound and hand massages included. Massages is a very important part after this type of Lipo
Hey ! How many days after did you take your wrap off to start massaging? I’m on day two and I feel like it is painful to the touch? So massaging sounds really painful and scary? Haha
Hi Kathleen, thanks for making this video. I found the massage really helpful. However, I got bruise on my chin (just a small area). I think I did the cupping for too long without noticing the change in my skin tone. Should I be concerned? Can there be any long term complications due to this? Thanks!
Do you have any tips on how to care for a tummy tuck regarding contour? When to use foams, boards, fajas? I’m 6 days post op tummy tuck right now I’m wearing a compression garment that Velcro’s all the way around my abdomen.
Hi Kathleen! TY for this super informative video! Do you have any creative ideas as to making this piece of foam at home? Do you think even a doubled up Dr. Scholl’s foot pad (for sneakers) could work? Would Dollerama have any options, I wonder? TY so much! :)
@@KathleenHelenLisson HI sweetie, last week I received some Lipo Foam from amazon and it’s definitely doing the trick. -I cut a piece to put under my chin strap in the evenings, but I do take the foam out before bed & sleep with the chin strap on. I also put foam against an undershirt near my tummy tuck revision scar. I’m feeling very good that I had found that medical grade foam on amazon! Whew! 😂
Hi Kathleen, I’m 1.5 weeks post op and I have some red bumps/bruises all over under chin and neck. What do you suggest? I’ve been taking Arnica pills, using arnica gel and arnica cream, but it’s now pretty dry. Also do you recommend any particular compression garment?
do you recommend getting radiofrequency treatment as well? my doctor from mexico recommended it and that i should have started 2 weeks ago but i just saw a video of a girl saying these type of self massages are preferred and no frequency massages
I do not leave the cups on at all. If you'd like more advice, please book a session with a lymphatic massage therapist in your area for personalized recommendations.
Thanks for sharing. When to start messaging post op? and for how long each time? I do not have the form that you mentioned, can I just use the pressure garment? Doctor prescribed me a bruise and swell cream, can I use that to massage?
Hi! I’m a little over a month post op with chin lipo and implant. I’m just starting self massaging as my surgeon told me to not massage with the implant. I formed significant cording and fibrotic issue under the chin that I’m hoping will heal with these techniques 😫 but this does NOT feel good at all. I have a burning sensation on my skin when I touch. Is this normal???
My Dr or nurses didnt tell me SHIT about those massages or hard balls smhhh they just said massage gently , but thats not what they are supposed to tell you smh thank god I realized this wasnt normal , thank you this helped so much i had hard balls under my chin but slowly they are disapearinf and feel less pain
I’m 3 months post op full facelift neck lift and fat removed from the neck. The swelling went away I didn’t have any lumps or bumps. Everything perfect except in the morning my neck is stiff under my chin? Will this disappear on its own or do I need to get massages? I’ve been putting Vaseline on my neck at night and stroking toward either side as shown here. I never do this on dry skin. This is the best video I have seen on this topic 😊
I'm so sorry you never were able to get professional massages after such an important surgery. Do you have the ability and resources to get this type of postoperative care?
@@MindfulCoachKathleen yes. I’m wondering if you know of anyone in Orange County? After watching your videos I can see it all massage therapists are created equally 😊
I had chin liposuction a year ago, unfortunately I wasn't instructed on post op care, my skin is really lose since then. My surgeon told me that I have good skin and will get better on time, but it didn't. Actually now, I feel I look older for all this lose skin. Do you have any advice for a case like mine? Thank you so much in advance!
I had chin lipo plus buccal fat reduction 3 days ago and my whole face has swollen up like a balloon even with wearing my compression constantly. Really hoping this massage will help as I look insane
Where are you located ? I developed two water like lumps under my chin after the lipo to my chin can i send you a pic or video so you can help me please ??? I have no idea where to go to get it looked at.
Hello! Just saw this and gonna start doing everything you mentioned. However, my massage therapist said no vibration for lymphatic drainage, specially to sensitive areas like the chin and I did start to develop the putty like lumps after using the vibrating GuaSha at 1 week post op. Now I am 3 weeks po and have been without the chin garment from day 5 po until day 13 po because the dr said I can stop wearing it. It turned out to be a mistake. When I don’t wear the garment I get bigger lumps. So my question would be is the vibrating tool GuaSha ok or not for self massage? Or not so soon? 🧐
If you have a well educated massage therapist that you trust, please do exactly what she says. I am not sure what vibrating GuaSha is. Did your surgeon recommend you use vibrating Gua Sha?
I’m now 9 days post op and at the one week follow up my surgeon told me to start massage and that any tightness or hard patches would soften over time. I trust him completely but I’m still super worried that the hardness will be permanent. In your experience is this normal? And if so will it in fact get better over time with massage and continued use of my compression garment?
Thanks for this great video! It has been 10 days since I got chin lipo and fibrosis started forming in the last couple of days. Doing this massage helps and I feel like it started breaking down already. How early can we start cupping? I am 30 and I feel like I'm healing very fast and I don't seem to have an issue with skin elasticity.
also my doctor did not tell me about fibrosis, lipo foam or cupping so thank you for informing me. I feel like he just performed the procedure, got paid and abandoned me later.
Kathleen, my doctor did not warn me about fibrosis. I had chin liposuction 5 weeks ago, but I already had severe fibrosis after only one week. I have very hard knots. He used a needle to break up some hard sections, but it seems not to have helped. I look deformed. I go back to him on Friday, but he has not mentioned massage. Is it too late to start this type of massage after five weeks? I don’t want the fibrosis to get more entrenched than it already is. How many times a week do you recommend massage initially and how long per session? Have you had your patients who also get ultrasound along with the massage? Does massage help once the fibrosis and hardness are five weeks out like mine? Thanks for any information you can provide.
I would recommend that you have an in person massage ASAP and ask for the therapist's advice after they do a session - they will have customized advice. Hopefully massage, lymphatic cupping and foam can help you.
Thank you I am having a lot of worries Its worse than When I went in, so depressed, my smile is lopsided, about to chew my right side lip off when I eat, i was always so happy, now I am defeated and broken..i had it done in va My entire bite is off..Im so scared..
Hi! I am 2 weeks post op from chin lipo and I Was wondering if the massage wont let the skin thighten up? Could the massage prevent the skin to adhere again and therefore to stay loose? Thanks!
Can these techniques all be used after having FaceTite and lipo of the submental area? And, if so, how often should it be done? I am 16 days post procedure now.
How fast can we start doing this massages ? I’m about 4 days post op and not sure if I can start this also do you recommend radio frequency for the chin?
I just had chin and jowls and neck I started day 6 I was to sore so I waited a few days and try again it get better each time I'm 3 weeks post op with some swelling still and numbness but I hope get the lumps out
Thank you so much for your video. I just recently had neck and chin lipo a week and 2 days ago. I wish I would have found your video sooner. One side of my chin is smaller and have lumps and tight skin on one side side. What can I do to help the lumps go down? Is this normal?
@@LaRachellLovee It’s looking way better. I don’t have no more hard lumps just a little bit of fluid that still needs draining. The lymphatic drainage massages really does help me a lot.
It's been a month since I got my chin lipo and did do 6 lymphatic massages during the 4 weeks. I do notice fibrosis and some hard areas. Hoping this will help. Anything else you sugggest?
I had a Lipo chin 3 weeks ago and I feel a lump that moves what should I do? Can I continue cupping? Or is anything else that I can do? Tx in advance ! God bless you all!
Hi, just came across this video. Extremely helpful. I’m 1 month post op with chin lipo and have bad fibrosis. I massage it but still a lot of swelling. What type of foam do you recommend I buy to cut and make my chin shape out of?
Where is that grey foam from? Is it hypoallergenic? The white foam gave me a bad reaction. I tried taping it with athletic tape and it still gave a reaction.
Hello ma'am, I am 13 days post chin-lipo. I was told to wear garment for at least 2 weeks and I was also told to not massage at all to allow the skin to reattach. What are your thoughts on this? I do feel a hardened 1 inch area under the chin nearing the start of my throat. When can I start gently massaging it? I'm 33 yrs for reference with good skin I believe.
@@Tay0Co you will not get fibroids from liposuction. If you are worried about fibrosis, please book an appointment with a postop massage therapist and they will give you tips on self-care in between visits.
Same with mine! Did you end up getting fibrosis? Did you end up self massaging? For some reason I’m so scared of fibrosis, I’m 12 days post op and haven’t massaged at all.
@@ashleighdubie4250 ok so I sent to a post op massage place that was massaging me SO hard. Then I went to get a facial one day and my facialist was like “she’s doing it wrong, a lymph massage should not be hard, especially on your face. Plus, it it clearly not making a different. I’ll show you the right way and you’re gonna see a huge different after the facial”. So she gave me a correct lymphatic massage, which is extremely gentle and just moves fluid. And my face looked so thin after. So I regularly went to her, and then learned to do it for myself (you can search on RU-vid lymphatic facial massage, or facial lymphatic Gua sha massage) and do that. It’s very gentle, and I don’t have fibroids
Im confused as to how the foam works? Is it to add extra pressure and compression eith the garment over it? Or is it for comfort only? What does it do?
How tight is a chin compression garmet supposed to be? To me, mines loose compared to my faja. My surgeon said it's supposed to just guide the swelling but I feel like it's loose.
@@KathleenHelenLisson would you recommend getting a lymphatic drainage massage the day of surgery or the after surgery ? (I’m getting chin lipo on Monday)
