Every single time. Either that or one of my players are following a winger who is far past the rest of my defensive line, so then their striker can just run past all my defenders and still be onside

Literally hate defending in this game, no matter how good my Defense is I always concede goals, one problem I have is when I try to switch players and it goes to someone who’s really far away from the ball and my defender just decides to go into no mans land and let the striker walk straight passed him

I hadnt played any fifa since fifa 14. I only got started with fifa 2020 and neal guides helped me undo so much muscle memory from old gameplay. Wasnt easy. Started playing fut only in fifa 20 and tactical defending was so hard in the beginning but i kept practising. Lost my first 21 games in fifa 21 fut in very horrible ways but i still kept watching tutorials and never gave up. Now i have 17 wins with a 4 game win streak yesterday. Thanks so much Neal!

You said dont expect to be a defending god/maldini after watching this video! Tell you what my game changed entirely and i realised defending is the most important part of this game. Played 10 won 8 enjoyed, have watched few of your videos but hadn't subscirbed, did it after watching this. You used a live game and talked us through on what u do, could not adapt everything but did adapt a few things to change my game. This is the best defending tutorial! Cleared rttf knockout stage 6/7 games in div 4, hopefully moving a div up after your crucial tips

Just got this game and every game ends in ridiculous scorelines. Its so hard not to concede goals. Fifa 21 is so much more attack based. All people do is sprint towards goal and score.

Mate i’ve just played fifa 21 for the first time in like 6 weeks and i just have to say how horrific it is man, legit defensively it sucks i try and cover the pass lines im reading correctly but none of my defenders can intercept, intercepting is a myth on this game. The thing is my players arent even players they are spectators in the game

Been doing this since day 1 yet I cannot get the ball I make the most perfect tackle where either the ball just bounces back to my opponent or the opponent player falls on the ball so my defender cannot get it and then I concede it’s very annoying to see this happen and it happens every single game not now and then but every game

I used to be so good at fifa back in FIFA 15, and that was the last time I played fifa. Now that ive started to play fifa 21 and after 6 fifa games, fifa 21 defending is hard because back in the fifa15 all you had 2 do was hold x and u were good

manual jockey + analog sprint on is so much better, you have much more control, i can not imagine going back to assisted jockey. But I have to say it's more exhausting because you have to constantly adjust the pace with the right trigger, but you will be rewarded.

Ive been watching your videos for some time now, and with all respect, this thing with walk into players instead of tackling is just not working for me. The only thing it does for me is giving away free goals sins my players doesnt take the ball. I alson dont understand why I shouldnt tackle since the standing tackle is working perfectly fine? I find that for some reason the right anolog stick is best for defending it keeps your player in line and works better for some reason ...I find it strange all I have to do is track and use the right anolog without pressing tackle

Is there a way to pull back your back line towards the goal? I give up so many fast breaks because the skilled players just run past my back line. Also, opponents can knock me off the ball easily, but their players seem to have a force field around them...What do you do to knock someone off the ball when going shoulder to shoulder?

The only problem when waiting and not committing on tackle is , the opponents other team mates get ample time to make runs and then nit becomes difficult to contain 2/3 players together

What i can suggest you mate is to use ball roll skill, crossovers and first touch fake shots ! Practice it a lot and you will see the difference ! When used in a good timing and in the right direction, it can create a lot of space !!! Good luck

It seems you know how to defend, but your video would be way better with some editing presenting the position, options, etc...I know it takes time, but a 5 minutes video well edited is a thousand times better than a 17munutes one where you have to adapt to what's happening in your game). Neal I tried this in weekend league and just using my cdms defending the middle worked till about 14 games or so and then the better opponents just start exposing the wings? They literally will just run down wing with anyone and I can’t do anything about it..

How do i defend against someone who only attacks the goal and keeps holding the ball if i play defensiv and wants me to attack , but when i attack they instantly shield the ball and start running backwards, i never ever get chance to get to the ball, what would be a good option to get to the ball if something like this is going on?

The game is a mess. I won 8 games consecutively I could control my defenders and then all of a sudden in the next two games I got hammered and barely had any control over my defence at all could not move them into any position that I wanted to every attack against me was almost a goal and it was effortless just an L1 tap and a through ball and my defence and whole team for that matter just went to sleep and didn't want to play anymore

I use Ramos and Kounde as my CBs, should i change Ramos with a faster CB like Diego Carlos or Lenglet ? I can’t find the answer for it faster better but ramos is powerfull and insane at defending what do yoh suggest ?
