@@godz52 depends on how thick the leather is. Although I doubt those tights are made of real leather. I suspect the real challenge with this costume is the cloak and cat tail.

When they players just send the fighter past any traps you kinda need to ramp up the difficulty, I would have made a single deadlier trap myself but I guess adding more works too.

Well they had a rogue player this time. Patrick probably put those there for the rogue to use her skills, but Evandra was too busy being a fighter

@@loke6664 Johnny Chiodini, DM of the OXventurers once said in an interview that if you really want to challenge a party, the best way to do that is to make them fight an army of low level NPC'S, instead of one high level NPC. I always figured that logic applies to traps, too. One high DC trap can be bypassed with a lucky roll. A lot of low DC traps are different. Sooner or later, the player is going to roll low, and trigger a trap. Likely multiple traps, given the way dice rolls work out in this game.😆

@@andrewb1921 Gary Gygax, the creator of AD&D first edition and co creator of D&D the White box had a very different theory. He just really lethal traps instead, like he did in "The tomb of horror" and "The temple of elemental evil". Many of his traps were triggered by the players own greed or stupidity (just like in this case). I think I am on Gary's side here. Personally traps I use are often puzzle traps where the players have to figure out how to pass them instead of just rolling a dice. Sure, I mix it up with some standard Indiana Jones traps too but those puzzle traps are the deadly ones, no matter what level you are. Smaller traps tend to more annoy the players and maybe drain their healer, they are a good distraction for ambushing monsters but I don't think I ever seen a player of higher level then 5 ever dying to many small traps and I been playing since 1984. And speaking to one DM to another, which one is most fun for us? A player eventually dying after failed saving throws and disarmament rolls or the players who totally fails with a smart puzzle trap and kill themselves? Sure, a 100 goblins can kill a level 20 warrior (but only if the warrior is unlucky and the goblins constantly crawl over their dead companions) but I ain't rolling and keeping track of all that. Eat a couple of mindflayers instead. Some players enjoy killing tons of trashmobs but they are far more likely to remember killing that dragon then a hoard of moblins for a long time.

Nothing brings a smile to my face more than my contributing a fun thing that spreads... and I don't care if I get credit for it because I'd rather not at all be in any spotlight. I love being the whisper in the ear more so than the face in the spotlight in front of the mic... I actually hate being more than a whisper in the ear. And yes, I was one of those DMs who had Doppelgängers and actually clever bad guys, a pest to the party no matter the level of the party. I didn't limit my gift for sh^ts and giggles to the real world... I used it for fun gaming inspirations too.

@@That80sGuy1972 lol. I knew someone who used doppelgangers to replace a high lvl groups scouts because she knew they would never check to see if they were or not. The group beat a low level necromancer and had him under surveillance instead of killing him, I forgot the reason. They would send a scout to check to see if he was doing anything he'd kill it and have a doppelganger go back in its place to give the all clear. He went from low lvl necromancer to vastly power lich because she had him take over entire towns and cities while the group was away. When they came back they all died.

Oh yeah the furry rogue with cat ears is very good…. 🤡

Yes, but it's more realistic this way seeing as Fey Ancestry is maybe the most forgotten trait in the game.

Elf and H-E are resistant to sleep and charme spells and spell-like powers. Not poisons and drugs.

@@storyspren I once had a wood elf player who's backstory involved being put to sleep by the fey for 100 years, I pointed out to her that she was immune to magical sleep and she was like "oh crap I have to rewrite my entire backstory" then I was like "nah I'll just make an evil fey who can somehow bypass immunity to sleep".
