Fighting to Remove Melted Thermocouple Adjusting Pilot Flame 

I am maintaining a gas boiler. At first I wanted to show how to maintain the gas section with a standing pilot. As I started taking apart the pilot assembly to clean, I noticed the thermocouple’s base was melted and warped. I fought to separate the thermocouple from the pilot assembly. Installed a new thermocouple. I also removed the pilot assemblies orifice to clean Then adjusted the pilot flame to reduce heat on the boilers thermocouple.. Afterwards I fire up the boiler to make sure burners fire up.
