Do most of you not feel that sooner rather than later, the pull of the Filipino way of life with its more realistic prices and warm humanity ( warts and all) will eventually get to Chrissie and she will desire to return home to the islands and family
Fun video Tim, my Filipina wife is exactly just like Chrissy and says the funniest things all the time even though she has lived in the US for 35 years. They never change. The Lobster looked good to me!!
Cheaper homes better weather. Tim's parents are walking distance to the beach. I think they own a 2 to 4 million a house. A safe hotel to sleep in without addicts begins at $125 a night. I think $5,000 per month without airfare per person. to tour at their speed
Really liking the videos as of late. I think it’s cool. Giving people the insight of America, especially from a foreigners perspective will do really well. Thanks for the videos. Make them longer if possible 👀👀
I wish you the very best Tim, I hope everything works out and you have a beautiful life you're a real decent guy I wish the best for you. Now let's be fair and tell her that is a grocery store for the rich, then you should take her to the common grocery store a little different.
Poor Chrissy, her teeth were chattering in the cold store. I think she needs a parka. She is an absolute hoot! What a treat to watch her experience this part of the world.😂
My ex is Jamaican and even though we lived on the Carolina coast where it is 95f throughout Summer she would take a sweater with here everywhere because of the AC in stores and at the movies. Then subsequently I dated a girl who was literally from Siberia. The coldest inhabited place on Earth. We went into Starbucks in the middle of Summer and she needed me to get a coat out of my car for her. It may not be a Filipina thing so much as just a girl thing. ;)
The cashier was being polite towards you Tim. Most Filipina workers here would think it is rude to speak tagalog to another Filipina if her husband only speak English. ESpecially in a workplace setting. Anyway welcome to California Crissy. I live near Newport, we are almost a neighbor. I’m a Harold Baldar fan, I watched you and Cris story since before you became a vlogger. All your adventures with Harold in the Philippines. That’s how I subscribed to your channel when you started it but I seldom make a comment on your vlogs.
@@stevegoins6426 I was curious because that grocery seems super upscale i never seen that before. I know Walmart is cheap in the USA. In Canada it's the same
Tim, you should take her to Seafood City in irvine. It is a Filipino grocery store. If they stay in America, Crissy will need to take TOEFL and get her degree reviewed for foreign credentialing. Plus maybe take any additonal classes any state she wants to work in by the state licensing board. It will take 6 months to a year+ normally for Crissy to get reviewed and license here in any state.
He will. He is spending his savings quickly. I know he is watching his numbers. Hopefully he will go to the real shops for the added savings. Then come the tents, garbage scavengers loud customers, beggers, etc. best he hide out at Costco and have both join a gym to save on monthly entertainment bills. A two night weekend getaway in a safe hotel? $140 a night. health insurance? Hahaha $400+ monthly each .😅😅😅😅
I have been watching your channel since the very beginning. The chemistry between you and Chrissy is amazing. The two of you could do a comedy vlog every day just by you asking Chrissy questions and getting her honest answers. You never know what she's going to say!
@@codywy5579 Normally, I would agree with you about keeping the Filipina in the Philippines. However, I think Tim and Chrissy have a strong relationship, especially having Dale. They also have about a 20 year age gap. It is much different than a 60+ year old man with a 20 something bringing her back to the states. Tim is still in his early forties. I don't think Chrissy would stray in a few years of living in America. They seem to have a pretty strong family bond. I plan on staying in the Philippines once I move there. However, I also have strong family bonds here so it would not scare me to bring my Filipina back home if I found one I wanted to marry. Contrary to what the media is constantly telling us, most of America is a great place to live for anyone who is willing to work hard. I would just stay out of the metro areas of large cities. I have a great life here, but I loved my visit to the Philippines and will be returning for another visit shortly.
WOW! California is expensive! I remember taking my FIlipina wife to a grocery store first time in the US - quite an experience - Chrissy reacts just the same! Makin' Memories!
Great video Tim!!!! Chrissy looks like she like it. Cant wait to see Dale and see how he like it there. Tim you always crack me up how you always joke with Chrissy. 2 thumbs up my friend!!!!
These videos are so fun to watch, thanks to Chrissy for being a good sport. Crank out the videos twice a day and I’ll send you a $100 gift certificate to Porto’s Bakery and cafe!
TIP: When frying fish, esp. dried fish, get a small pot & boil water with cinnamon at the same time. It will remove the smell and keep the house smell like cinnamon instead of sinky fish.
I just love d way u laugh when you think something is funny...very good u r patient introducing Chtissy to the American culture..salamat po from Denver
@@sabridjoparto582I think Chrissy already got her nursing education in the Philippines? Nurses from the Philippines here in California are really the best nurses!
She still needs to pass the TOEFL and get her education reviewed for Foregin Credntialling. I forget the oprganization but my wife had to do that since her masters was from the PH. But then she passed her doctorate in the US so no more worried about foreign credentials.
@@sabridjoparto582 yes, but to work in the US she will have to have her education reviewed for credntialling since it was not from a foreign school/university. I haev numerous friends from PH and my wife from PH who all had to go through that. They are nurses, OTs, and PTs. Just pointing out taht once my wife got her doctorate here, she no longer has to do that since it is from a US school. Needless to say, Chrissy will also have to take ongoing courses to meet her CEU requirements as well.
My wife and I are awaiting her consulate appointment for her spousal visa. One of the things I look forward to is seeing her reactions and comments regarding grocery stores here in the US. Luckily I know all the Asian spots like SF Market, Ranch 99 and Seafood City. 😂
This is a great example, and 1ST hand look at our wonderful, prosperous, and glorious USA 🇺🇸. Tim do us a favor, and now you need take her to Downtown L.A. & The tenderloin in Frisco so that she can capture exceptional, longing, and precious memories of her visit.
The price in California is the reason why I spent half my time in Arizona and California. I bet you, Chrissy was shocked when she saw all the prices of the food in those supermarkets. Hopefully soon I’ll be heading to the Philippines, when that time does come, I’ll try to message you somehow prior to going, and meet up and have dinner somewhere. Another video that put a smile on my face.
Hello, I hope all is well. You both are awesome to watch. I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for taking good care of my kababayan, God bless you and your whole family. Happy New Year!
You two really seem to have good chemistry😊 Hopefully, when you finally move full time to the states Chrissy keeps to her filipino roots and does not become 'westernized' like my filipina did when I brought her to the states 😢
I'm glad you're vlogging her 1st experiences here, and also glad you checked out Seafood City. I always make it a point to take my Wife when we're out this way so she can stock up
We head up to the Chicago Seafood City when Mrs. Rick wants a taste of home. Much cheaper than flying to Manila, and it's only a 90 minute drive for us. My work took me right by there yesterday so I stopped in and picked her up some dried fish for her dinner. She was happy.
Welcome to the USA Chrissy and Dale. Seafood City in Irvine is our go-to Filipino store. Blowing out the house with fish stink was hilarious. Great video, Tim. Looking forward to some more footage.
Being on the East Coast I've never even heard of Bristol Farms (although it sounds similar to Whole Paycheck). But once she gets over the massive size of US supermarkets, sadly Chrissy will discover what we already know...that the fruit and veg only LOOK ripe, but never really are. The apples only look red and delicious but taste like wax. The mangos have to sit on your counter for a week to ripen, etc. It's not so bad, but compared to fresh-from-the-tree Philippines, it will be disappointing. We won't even get into the seafood. ;)
Be prepared for her home sickness. It is a important challenge you need to be aware of. Filipinos don't usually Express their feelings. She may not tell you she is home sick. She will expect you to realize it on your own
Chrissy ❤ I love her how she reacted everything😂 I thought Im just the one who are so particular in prices 😅but the most she so lovely how she bring herself and smile all the time❤❤❤ Keep it up Chrizzy...Youre did it amazing job! 🎉🎉🎉#ProudFilipino...
You should stop by a Philippine store, there’s one here in Long Beach. And loads of Asian super markets in the OC/Westminster area. I know loads of spots I always go to 😅 There’s a place here in Long Beach where you can take her to see the whole Long Beach and the beach. I would suggest that, I want to see her reaction 😅
USA use to be world leader in cheapest food prices, now most expensive and don't forget everything in pounds weight, Australia is much cheaper in kilograms
She's talking about the cold in one of the warmest places in the US this time of year. Take her to some other states that have some actual real winters. Then back to California and she will be lovin it. lol
You forgot the red horse beer 🍺 I would like it if my hubby counted every penny 😂I spend $100 a day atleast 😂for her first time there you should let her get whatever she wants 😊
People coming to America is always good times in the beginning then later they start thinking about money how to make money,Tell her to take the N-clex exam for nursing is she graduated already from nursing so she can get a state license so she can work and make money for herself so she won’t depend on you.Life in America is not that easy if you don’t make money cos enjoyment is only in the beginning.I wish her luck in United States 🇺🇸
@@haikudaily-vk8tr Thats Bullshit Yeah they work their ass off they work so hard are you kidding me Google it how much newly grad net salary in United States so u know ,what’s $50 thousand for a newly grad today not enough in u.s look at the nurses in New York they went strikes what the heck,If Ur computer programmer working for Microsoft maybe he don’t have to work a nurse u kidding me they are not making more than $100 k physical therapy in the hospital for years they get paid higher than the nurse, the only way nurse can make a lot if they keep working over time.I know how much the nurse earned here in u.s. to them still not enough and too much work they handle in the hospital or other facilities and that is the truth of being a nurse thats why they’re so stressed out that’s why I feel bad for them cos they work so hard and not getting paid enough money.
So fun to watch Chrissy experiencing California... and fun to see/hear you, watching her. As you know, I was raised in California (Ventura), but conditions forced me out almost 10 years ago. I can see it hasn't gotten any cheaper since then, either. Yikes!
A husband that cares would sit her down and have a heart to heart talk and explain why staying in the United States is a very bad idea. The "food" supply is governed by lobbyists and loaded with seed oils, high fructose corn syrup and chemical preservatives. Our health"care" system is manipulated by who can profit the most. Big Pharma controls TV commercial time and the "news" is 100% full onslaught propaganda. Even the fruits & vegetables are grown in soils that are totally depleted of nutrients and an apple today contains only 25% of the vitamins and nutrient content of apples grown in the 1960's. The entire American population is metabolically sick, malnourished and dying. This is why the life expectancy in the USA has dropped from 78 to 74 within the past 3 years.
Hey Tim. Welcome back to Newport Beach, and welcome, Crissy, glad you made it here. Maybe I'll see ya as I walk my dogs down there. Hope you guys are here for good.
When I brought my wife here from Russia back in the 90's, her culture shock was our grocery stores. Now with daughters and grand daughters, Costco is her store lol. Your wife seems to be an awesome lady with a beautiful sunshine smile. You're a blessed man. Thanks for sharing her journey with us.
Ain't NewPort Beach like one of the most expensive places in the US? Anywho, I love the interaction between you guys. Always full of laughter and smiles.
Tim, my wife and step daughter came to the US in Sept 22 and I see so many parallels between Chrissy and her. Makes me chuckle at what she is experiencing, deja vu for sure. We live up north in Seattle area, let Chrissy know it could be much colder. It freaked my wife when she first saw "smoke" come out of her mouth...haha A great adventure awaits all three of you...good luck.
You know Im a South OC boy also.....you took her to one of the highest priced stores and anything in Newport Beach is going to be even higher. Take her to a Costco so the channel can see that we do have decent prices in the OC. I was born in Newport and then moved up to Orange. I tried moving back after high school but couldn't afford it while going to college plus all the girls were snobs. And I notice at the 8:40 mark as you walk out, there is a typical BMW parking job, cant even get it in the stall and doesn't give a shit if they don't.
