Yeah...definitely screwed up the bit about the speed of Saitama hopping back to Earth from the moon BUT on the plus side, it doesn't change the final outcome. Yes, it overestimates Saitama's power for that one calculation, but it's not his MAX STRENGTH that we calculated for the falling meteor. It also still PALES in comparison to Vibranium's power, so yep, Cap's shield still stands!
If Thanos can physically break the shield, as demonstrated in Endgame, Saitama can easily break it. Edit: my apologies for opening up this can of worm of a statement. Let's just remember that Saitama is a gag character with the intent of being a parody of the strongest hero, which means he is as strong as he needs to be, and not at all meant to be taken seriously.
@@extremelyboredtatsumaki.495 you can't compare mcu thanos to one punch man he's a lot weaker saitama is around multi continent while normal thanos (without the gauntlet) is large country but thanos in the comics without the gauntlet is your usual solar system level

If Thor's hammer weighs that much, then the most strong object in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be Tony Stark's glass table in the "Age of Ultron"
We haven't seen him do it, but it is speculated that saitama can destroy a planet. When saitama fights Boros, Boros says, "I'll blast you and this planet to hell!" That implies that Boros can destroy a planet. Saitama then fully counters Boros's attack with an even stronger one. Saitama can overpower a supposedly planet busting attack. So, Saitama can probably destroy a planet.
he also reflected a blast capable of destroying the earth so it went the complete opposite direction and it still destroyed boros one who was able to survive the punches from saitama and saitama reflected it in one punch while thanos had to dismantle the moon part by part. saitama on the other hand could destroy the planet in one punch vibranium couldnt even stand a chance against a not even moon shattering slap so yeah make out the rest
Sorry to ruin it for you but season 2 shows that one punch man can cancel out an attack capable of destroying a planet in 1 shot. The scene where he fights against boros
Saitama punch like a thousand hiroshima bomb when he's fight Lord boros and it's not serious punch, he can split the sky. how to serious punch of saitama? he can destroy the half of Earth, maybe. 🙄
Dear matpat after 4 years of opm chapters later I can safely assume Saitama can break vibranium without even knowing it’s suppose to be hard to break, also the fact saitama destroyed half of Jupiter with a single sneeze 👍
Alex it was stated in many different guide books including the anime itself that the attack was planet level, in one guide book it even said it was Star level. It could of wiped out the entire planet, probably of done even more.
@@Alex-hj2jd Boros is fringe God, the Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon was said, to either be able to destroy a whole planet or destroy the surface of one, depending on the translation used. The aftermath of their attacks pushed clouds across nations,, and didn't do damage nearby because Saitama's serious punch negated it.
Well the thing is thanks broke it with his double bug blade thingy which is supposedly what mjolnir and storm breaker is made of. It's the most powerful metal in the universe while vibranium is only the strongest metal on earth.
I can imagine Saitama picking up the shield, playing around with it and accidentally breaking it without even trying. And then he would hide the broken shield, acting like he didn’t do it.
I think he would just give it back without giving a big fuck about it because captain America has nothing now and your gonna say his muscles but he's really strong
so uru in the form of a hammer with lightning powers, and enchantment that makes it literally impossible to move if you're not worthy doesnt break vibranium, but uru in the shape of a double edged sword does? also, in the comics, the power stone breaks the shield, but in infinity war, the power stone can baically shatter the moon, but also not break iron man's nano tech. infinity war is basically saying iron man's armour is stronger than the MOON, yet thanos can rip it with his hands.
linfu scarlet witch is one of the strongest avengers of course she snapped it, also it would have to be Uru because no other metal is stronger at attacking. Remember storm breaker is made of it, and it fucking goes through all of the infinity stones put together at once, remember if you have 2 infinity stones of ANY kind you're already the strongest being in the universe, and storm breaker shrugs off 4 more lol
Matpat needs to make another episode because he posted this before Endgame were Captian America's sheild was not just dented for the first time but straight up destroyed by Thanos's double sided sword. It took a few hits to break Cap's sword so all he has to do is figure out the material that the sword is made out of and then calculate the power of Thanos's hits and then see if Saitama has enough power to break the sheild.
No. If they wanted to melt it they would need to use at least the energy equivalent of 100 megatons of tnt. At once. Then immediately form it into a shield. Not going to happen.
Nope, you single handedly forgot about the scene were Genos and Saitama have a bout and on the last punch Saitama breaks open an entire mountain with just the wind of his punch.
it would take around 1.13031186 ⋅10^27 Joules to completely destroy that mountain with just air if my calculations are correct (they probably aren't, but if you are good at calculations, I can tell you that the mountain's volume was 5406380m^3 if my estimates are correct) hope some1 calculates the actual value
@@Arevilov3 Im not sure what calculations you used, but the actual amount of energy would actually be far greater than that since the mountain is probably somewhat aerodynamic, meaning a lot of air will just go around it. Not to mention that's just the air that went towards the mountain, to create an omnidirectional shockwave of air that releases that much energy would be a insanely high So yeah he definitely wins this one XD
10'000 Eiffel towers...ahh yes...americans use almost everything...except the metric system (Yea i know that Mat uses the metric system but others dont)
That just goes to show how we Americans are willing to use anything from washing machines to Eiffel towers to show measurements instead of the metric system
Fun facts: the creator of one punch man said that nothing had ever tool a direct punch from sitama. Everything that sitama punched was blown away with only from the effect of aitamas fist hitting the air.
Destroying the meteor is not Saitama's greatest strength feat. His greatest feat of strength is overpowering Boros' final attack, which was said to be strong enough to destroy the Earth. Which means Saitama is capable of planetary tier attacks and wouldn't have any trouble destroying moons, thus Saitama can destroy vibranium.
Boros sait it was strong enough to wipe the surface of the Earth* That's very far from being able to destroy planets. Of course, mistranslations allow for some ambiguity. He may be planet level. A guid book can be translated to even star busting capability, but you'd be trying really hard to believe that.
Coming back to these videos now that Matpat had left feels different. It makes these old videos feel all the better, knowing there may be no more Matpat videos.
9:42. MatPat, 20 million meters per second is not the same as 12 million miles per second. In fact, it is 12,500 miles per second. 20 million meters per second is only 1/15 of the speed of light (6.67%). Did you mean km per second?
LOL, I was about to corect him the exact same way... i mean it take aprox 1.2 seconds for light to travel to the moon... how can OPM be faster than light if it takes him 19 seconds to travel the same distance? thats nearly 16 times slower than the speed of light...
I'm at 9:51 and I had to stop the video to see if anyone else had stomped into the same mistake. Light takes a second to travel from Earth to the moon. If Saitama takes 19 seconds, then hes obviously not going faster than light
Captain America: “Haaaaaaaaaaa!!!” *charges towards Saitama with shield in front Saitama: “ Consecutive Normal punches” Accidentally destroys captain America and half of the universe, who needs Thanos?
And remember, Saitama could use as many punches as he wants to in order to destroy vibranium. Also, he could stick out his pinky finger to focus the force of his punch in one smaller area. I know that sticking out his pinky finger would sound like it would weaken the punch, but the only reason it doesn't work for us is that we would likely break our pinky while saitama wouldn't. The reason how we know this is that saitama doesn't seem to be clutching his fist in pain after punching considerably large and hard objects. So his bones are probably indestructible too so this wouldn't even be close to a fair fight. Saitama would decimate the vibranium.
I think in the end when rating thanos power from the comics won’t give you a good result. In one comic he breaks captain America’s shield and in another he gets arrested by the local police
Plus using the moon fragmentation as a reference isnt too accurate. Thanos didn't want to destroy the entire moon because he would risk injuring himself and losing the time stone. If he wanted to he could. He fragmented enough chunks to take care of the other avengers that were getting in his way so that he could deal with strange
@@B4NSHEE_WITH_A_4 That seems to make a lot of assumptions about Thanos' intentions. He never said/showed that he could break the entire moon, and he never indicated that he was holding back in order to limit his own recoil damage. Besides, he had the space stone by then so by your logic he could have brought the whole moon down then warped away if he didn't want to be caught in the blast.
@@kasrkin100 i did some math and if we are going to use the serious punch and if we convert its power to a single explosion, *he can break 13 bedrock with one serious punch* (to break 1 bedrock you need 1.4 million tnt since bedrock has a resistance of 18000 to tnt)
The reason he didn't reach earth quicker jumping from the moon is because he would've destroyed it if he pushed off harder. Also, his strength doesn't just come from his speed. When Saitama fought Boros, Boros used his finishing move "collapsing star roaring cannon" which apparently had the power to easily destroy a planet. Saitama used a PUNCH to mitigate the attack, push it back and obliterate Boros. If you read the manga and web comic, he has way crazier feats of strength, without really trying. I have a feeling if he used his real strength, it would either destroy earth or the galaxy.
Honestly itd kinda b pointless, to redo the whole episode to go over one fight seems sills as we know soon he'll show his true strength, what abt instead of saitama vs caps sheild its something like saitama vs (some charecter that can absorb any impact, sry couldnt think of anyone specifically but u get the idea) so that there would b a debate, noe saitama could sneeze and break the sheild
The final attack of Lord Boros was “Collapsing Star Roaring Canon”. The amount of energy of this attack was equal to 36 trillion nuclear bombs in your face. And Saitama countered it with a superior amount of energy. And... He wasn’t at his full capacity.
Tank Dempsey Actually (no trolling), according to the official Japanese data book of One Punch Man... Boros’s final Attack is actually strong enough to destroy a Star. It was a mistake in translation of the English manga: -Original Japanese: “I will erase you from the surface of the planet” -Mistake in translation: “I will destroy the surface of the Planet”.
Not really. If Saitama released that much energy, the atmosphere would be annihilated and planet's inhabitants would've died. That clearly doesn't happen, so Boros' attack is just pure wank and isn't all that strong. If you're gonna use science, you're gonna have to apply it to everything, not just to make your argument look good.
@@kengorion8190 Everything has a limit on how many times it can absorb energy even for vibranium so imagine Saitama did the punch barrage he did on Boros
Cue the ending of avengers 4 when Saitama walks into battle says "Genos forced me to come here" Thanos jumps to him but Saitama just punches him and Thanos dies. The end.
"Simple sword?" Remember, this is _Thanos'_ sword. You think that Thanos would just have some regular sword made of steel? Thanos has been alive for thousands of years. A war monger like him would obviously have a powerful weapon that has the ability to destroy metal (in this case, vibranium) on some molecular level. Against a shield that can stop countless gunfire, punches, explosions, fall damage, repulsor blasts, lasers, and hits from Thor's hammer, you think a "simple sword" can break it?
Aidan Infinity ye, he obviously used a euphemism here. He doesnt think thanos sword is actually that simple, he‘s just putting it into perspective. Saitama onehits everything. It doesnt matter how strong or durable. Its gone.
Saitama: *Snaps back* Thanos: Impossible! This one will have the same power and will target YOU! *Snaps* Saitama: OK? So do you wanna fight now? It’s getting hot in here.
One Punch Man DIDN'T punch Genos and that destroyed mountains behind Genos and split the cloud! his hands are beyond infinity stones, The man's punch defying logic lol We're making too many assumptions here, even that his punch operates like regular punches when they may just appear to. Saitama would knock Vibranium out with one as usual IMO I don't even get why we're debating this but... Okay
Exactly. Vibranium is extremely durable, but it isn't indestructible, only almost indestructible. Also his shield isn't even pure, but made from alloy less durable then invented later Adamentium. Saitama on the other hand is a satire on OP characters, he can one punch anything just due to power of plot.. strongest force in fiction ;D PS: Thor hamer clearly isn't made from neutron star as it is not how physic work, and I don't think I should remind that Thor isn't brightest so it isn't even a plot-hole. Such singularity would also make Thor collapse in the ground if it would have absurd mass. My guess is that it is probably just form of vibranium, plus some high tech gimmick making it glued to gravity field (Vision was capable to hack it). And I don't even mention fact that Thor probably didn't punch him too strong, as he didn't intend to kill Cap.
Actually throughout all of Marvel history the only beings that have destroyed Cap's shield are ones that can MANIPULATE FUCKING REALITY! The Reality Stone in the Infinity Gauntlet most likely allowed Thanos to destroy Cap's shield, not his brute strength, but if Cap's shield was constructed by Tony in the modern day it might actually take an exploding sun and not even have a scratch.
@@decimation9780 actually there's another being that can destroy cap shield.. molecule man the only limit of his power is himself (damn weak mind person 😒😒)
Saitama beat the last boss and he didn't really try. we don't even know his true limit or if has one. remember he's a parody. why bother debating? the person on the other end of the shield would be smash to pieces lol. a lot of fanboying going on if you think Cap shield won't break...
How come no one talks about Saitama’s fight against Genos where he makes a crater in a mountain about the size of the Grand Canyon with the WIND from his fist
can we mention that saitama in the manga destroyed the biggest threat to the universe without even trying and simply hit the threat to the universe gently because he was bored. when he was fighting boros who could destroy stars and planets easily he only faked trying because he didn't want boros to be upset
Matpat the times you showed people destroying Captain America shield is when they were pulling it It can only absorb kinetic energy it’s like a cinderblock. It can absorb a lot of force by being hit directly, but time apart is quite easy.
MCU Thanos with the stones would solo one punch man and his universes and his comic version does not even need the stones to solo one punch mans universe
The wind pressure from use of less then 1% of his power is what he used to destroy Boros. But it doesn't really matter, because Saitama is just a joke. Judging his power is silly. There can never be anything he won't defeat that easily, in any universe, because that is just what Saitama is. The only reason to compare Saitama to anything, is to make a joke about how he'd still only need one punch to annihilate it.
Saitama once destroyed Boros' collapsing star roaring cannon which, according to Boros himself, said that his attack would be able to shatter the surface of EARTH. And Saitama stopped the attack with the AIR PRESSURE of his serious punch.
I posted it in the comment but it will probably go unnoticed, sorry to use your post for visibility There is a mistake at 9:40, he goes at 2x10^7 m/s which is 1/15th of the speed of light... NOT 67 times the speed of light !!! Ps : sorry for the bad english, it's not my first language
Zuzu “Zuzu”🔥, By The Way, Using Saitama as a Shield has already happened in the manga, (A Shield that acts by “itself” before you even notice). King used Saitama as a Shield 👍
in one of the one punch man episodes, it was said that his human limiter was supposedly disabled / removed, meaning he has the potential to become infinitely stronger
if that is true, i believe that he could solo goku, seeing as they both have the potential to become infinitely powerful, the only issue here is, goku has access to incredibly dense training weights, aswell as gravity manipulatable habitats allowing for tremendously increased training/growth speed
Actually the force of the serious punch pushed the attack back hitting Boros so technically Boros didn’t get hit by it explaining by he was still alive (barely) Elder centipede got incinerated by Saitama a serious punch because it had full contact
Honestly I think saitama would’ve pulverized the shield because me never see his true power but considering some of the things he broke like the meteor I would say he would crush cap
Tbh he will he able to break it since if that fight with boros was with 1% of his true power, the vibranium will shatter if it can barely handle his power at 1%. Thats what I think anyways but who knows since vibranium may have a more inpressive feat in one of the next movies.
Loved this video, but there are two major problems with it 1) You are considering that it took the entire force of the power stone break the shield, while in reality all thanos did was backhand it. 2) You considered the meteor to be saitamas greatest feat, while in the last episode of the anime, his serious punch is able to completely cancel out an energy beam which is supposed to be able to destroy a planet (and there's probably even larger feats in the Manga which I haven't read)
Saitama didn’t even go full force in that moon jump because if he was on full force lets be honest a shockwave from a few miles away would destroy the moon instantly
Saitama's moon jump was basically animated as a hop with a little effort in it for him. little more than skipping rope. It wasn't even close to his full physical capability.
@@goofyrise3612 Dr Genus has said that Saitama has broken his limiter while Boros said that he cannot sense the limit of his energy. Now to believe this or not to believe this is upto you.
I feel like if this were to ever actually happen Captain America would have just finished explaining how strong it was and Saitama would flick it and it would break
Saitama would be like,‘That’s awesome, something that can withstand more than one punch!’ Then Saitama would use a normal punch and it would be destroyed.
@@cloroxbleach2394 on all technicality no one on the other side of the sheild would exist after the punch. what exactly do you mean by feats? He's beating up all sorts of monsters left and right. Do you mean that we don't know exactly how strong the things he's fighting are??
Lol vibranium is not bound by common sense and neither is saitama point being neither of them really exist. I hate seeing “he was made to win”. Ok lol so was every Shounen manga/DC/Marvel character with plot armor wtf. That doesn’t mean they are unbeatable. As with saitama being one punch man, just has yet to meet his match, like most if not all being from the genre list I gave.
@@jjad14 I don't think that was his strongest feat (I think there was something tougher in the manga?? I can't remember) but didn't the creator or something say that his full force punch was some sort of equivalent to the big bang or something? I know I'm saying 'or something' a lot but like idk
@DarkMindsMedia 666 And he couldn't beat Boros in one or two punches? That's stupid. He can't defeat Superman, at least at this point in time. Because he doesn't have the feats to support anything that'd make him win against the man of steel. What was saitama's strongest hit by fair in the series? Serious punch? How strong was it? It split the atmosphere? Speed wise? He jumped from the moon and back while damaging the moon while going back? And you have VERY EARLY master roshi that blew up the Earth with one shot. And may I remind you, Goku is a lot stronger than roshi. Goku's speed literally bends time. Against hit, Goku used his new form to stop "time-stop". A literal move that stops time. Guess what? Goku moves within that. Goku trading blows against beerus, it could've destroyed the whole UNIVERSE. Superman? Hell just going from one universe to the next is just enough of a feat on it's own to show you how Saitama's feats aren't going to match any of Goku's or Superman's feats. Saitama's hasn't shown any planetary level attacks. He broke a meteorite, true it isn't his true strength. Neither was roshi when he blasted the moon into a pile of dust. Superman within the comics actually moved Earth, not just Earth, all the planets within the solar system. Superman prime one million is too much to go against Saitama. So is Goku's Mastered Ultra Instinct. Saitama at his most quickest of speeds, managed to create substitutional illusions, yet he didn't destroy the building within that, nor did he destroy a fly. Even if you say that he is holding back, meaning, no matter how much you play him against sups or Goku, it just won't happen, because literally all of them would hold back. Goku holding back because no one is in danger, same reason goes for Superman. So even if you bluntly say that Saitama holds back, is pretty weak, compared to planetary levels of attacks from being not even trying.
The thing is saitama is literally made to be op, so he’d break it, and beat anyone you put him against, because it’s literally the design of the character
@@Titanic-wo6bq he would break the piece of bedrock without any force (compared to his own non-existent limits), then some 12 year old server admin would ban him off his christian minecraft server.
That's because the people who broke it didn't just brute strength it, they ruptured the molecular bonds it's the easiest way to destroy adamantium and vibranium.
I mean I kinda agree with the comments Since Saitama hasn’t even used his full strength and hence using Serious Punch to stop the force of a planet destroying move and also taking the opponent out. The meteor strike was not a grave accomplishment. Saitama didn’t want to punch Rover (who is a dragon level monster) yet it destroyed the ground and caused earthquakes. Saitama is also very fast, which can help give him speed and will annihilate the shield easily. Saitama also hasn’t used full power, as Boros said it wasn’t even close to his full power. Saitama also used Serious Table flip and flew Garou so high, that he couldn’t see the ground and also altered his vision. Also Tatsumaki also known as the strongest Esper had no effect on him, she tried to fling her to the moon and all she did was make him float. Saitama’s Serious Punch also took the Force of Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon and took out Boros without even hitting him, also wiping partially the clouds and surface of the Earth.
Ye I feel like mat missed the part of how much energy it would take to alter the weather on a planetary scale with one punch. Ask Austin, His Zelda videos are evidence of that. I am not an expert or anything but I hope he at least asked Austin about how much energy it would be.
well for one that's not really quantifiable and although impressive given the wind aspect isn't necessarily his largest display of energy since the meteor which isn't too different in size also happened to be moving insanely fast
Saitama’s serious punch likely isn’t him at his strongest, as we’ve never seen him at his fullest. He could most likely throw more than one serious punch or maybe even a much harder punch. He doesn’t know his limits because he doesn’t have any lmao Edit: I fixed it lmao
