To be fair to Porsche I think they have handled it fine. Any Carrera GT owner has dozens of other cars. If a joint failed on some hairpin in the Alps, all the Carrera GT owners (with plenty of funds to throw at lawyers) would gang up against Porsche in a class action lawsuit. It’s not worth the risk for them.
I'm guessing aftermarket companies can't make/supply the parts either? Considering the CGT's iconic status, I'd have thought Porsche would want to rectify the issue _somewhat_ quickly.
Keep it all cosy in the Cotswolds or wherever Tom,it’s money in the bank and 12 months will soon pass then we get to hear that glorious sound again.🙌🙌🔥
Saw this car for the 1st time at the british motor show in 2001. (im nearly as old as you). I had it as a poster car on my wall for years, love it. Is this a knee jurk reaction after the Paul Walker accident?
Too many companies worry about initial appearances. Instead of long term consequences. I'll never get that at all. Just do the right thing. It builds trust and confidence in your brand.
Shame Porsche is dropping the ball on this issue, but onwards and upwards, I think they are stunning, I remember watching vids of VRAlexander belting round the streets in his modified one many moons ago and it had to be the best sounding supercar around!
Ok, I understand the Porsche no drive instruction to protect themselves from any court action, but to pull the inspection for this part seems bad form on their part, seems obvious they simply don't have a solution hence the Q3 24 comment you made. Knowing the Germans they will probably totally over engineer a new part so hopefully that is something to look forward to, Good Luck Tom!!
Don’t forget Porsche have had negative history with the road worthiness of the CGT. Ie Paul walker and the court case that the car was designed with inherent flaws. Yes they’re being over cautious but I understand why.
Their actions might imply they found the same issue on more than the one car. It doesn’t sound that serious unless it’s being minimized. Things corrode. Is it corroding because of a manufacturing defect? Or should the parts be considered wear items? Maybe they can sort it faster than 15 months. Wish other OEMs would stand behind their products like this. They did something similar with 991 GT3s. All owners should work towards a guaranteed allocation for the next GT car for the inconvenience.
Next video's: "HYPER CAR SHOPPING... WHAT DID I GET?" "REBUILDING CRASHED 918 SPYDER" "PORSCHE CAREERA GT JAILBRAKE HACKS" and before you know it, your raking in profit with millions of views 😂
Maybe it’s different in the US but it’s sort of odd to issue a stop use or recall on a nearly 20 year old vehicle. I think it’s great Porsche identified the issue and plans to address it but how it’s been handled is bizarre 🤔
Ouch, a year and a bit of Carrera GTs being parked up. I can only assume Porsche dealers will have to give them a good service after addressing the issue. Still, it should look very pretty as an ornament in the garage!
Love your channel but to say the Insurer’s should let owners operate a defective car is never going to happen. If the known part fails and you veer across the road and collide with a family and injure and kill them what then? Good luck with the repair and it’s too bad Porsche didn’t handle it better.
That car does has a bit of a bad rep especially in the us does it not ? Perhaps Porsche don’t want to risk anymore bad press ?? Got to say yours is looking fresh , very jealous!
I can't see what difference it will make. It's a car you could afford to finance but have never been able to afford to drive. The finance on this has used up so much of your credit bandwidth that you ended up buying all kinds of second hand trash which alienated your RU-vid demographic while coming up with some disingenuous reasons for the various disposals. The small number of videos you have made with this car have not exactly set the world alight on the view count, maybe this one will do better.
@@TGE In your dreams. That absurd valuation would put it above the most expensive ultra low mileage examples ever sold, and has no basis in fact when compared to the current market. Just another example of your normal BS that everything you do is a huge success and all of your businesses are massively profitable. Chump.
