Awesomely brilliant video Tom. The dealership seem to be fantastic Allowing you that access for us etc They are clearly hugely thorough with everything, and very transparent about all with the vehicle. For a 16 year old, bespoke Supercar, this particular service was, imo, good news. U have a complete and accurate heads up of where the CGT is at. Under the circumstances, the bill is reasonable ( IMO ) The CGT is going up in value. This record of the service, adds hugely to the provenance of the car. Future potential buyers could watch this, and it alleviates many potential concerns. The service cost u $ 16 k today, but, it’s probably immediately added $ 50 k, or more to its future potential value ? That $ 16 k bill, has actually been an excellent investment in the CGT. Big thanks for this, and all of your efforts with content. 🚗 💥 💨
This is one of my most favourite videos you have ever done, I love seeing all the parts and how it all works. It’s a incredible piece of kit, it’s a work of art. This is also why I think Tom is epic, he’s honest, works hard and can’t believe it’s two years since you got this! ( £400 for a Porsche badge? Ouch!) but it’s a incredible car and wow, that bill from the car at collecting cars 😭😭
I love these real world ownership cost type of videos. The final price didn’t seem too bad to me when I compared it to 12K to repair a very sick 04 Bentley conti GT a specialist 2 years ago! At least the Carrera GT is appreciating in value.
Brilliant video, I love all this kind of stuff you do. Running a group of body repair shops I know what goes into this sort of thing but seeing you going through it step by step is great!
Awesome to get so 'up close and personal' with a rare supercar, thank you Tom. Great insights and love the TGE TV techinical videos from the service bay. Watched in full 👍
Great video, well done on the service it's never fun getting the first inspection done on a fancy modern classic but the relief you feel afterwards is always good!
Enjoyable video Tom!!! I always love seeing content on the Carrera GT. A lot of money spent but I'm sure it's a satisfying feeling to know the car is sorted.
Very cool having a look at components we don't see often. The engineering is on a different level from more accessible supercars, CGT is so cool..great video👏🏻
Thank you for sharing the walk through. My Porsche dealer Service Department has just begun videoing their inspection/evaluation and I think it’s a great way to learn.
Brilliant video Tom. Nice to come back and see quality stuff - really enjoyed that service run through, review. A whole different “snack bracket” but great to dream… Cheers
Looking forward to watch this fully. Did a passenger ride in a CGT at the Supercar event at Goodwood over the weekend. Definitely on the dream car list if I ever make it big. I remember reading somewhere the once every 12 years engine out service is around £40k but still not bad considering the value of this now & looks to be increasing even more. I remember thinking, flipping heck that's expensive when you bought it but it's pretty much doubled in value since then. Well done sir.
Mate awesome video loved it. Got to keep on top of her not only for reliability but for history and it’s all huge pluses for the value and appreciation
Good evening TGE hope you are doing well i have absolutely loved this video thank you so much much i find this so interesting again i loved seeing that special place that all CGT have where it’s going that is brilliant thanks again TGE keep winning brilliant Video Best regards Tristan
Thank you Tom. An excellent insight, very informative, really interesting. Painful to see the total but in the great scheme of things understandable. I’m glad it’s turning out to be a great investment. The good news is that it would be better to put a few more miles on it to keep all the bushes active. Enjoy this work of art, that sounds like a wonderful symphony too.
Wow, seriously beautiful car. I’d no idea you had one (my bad, not watched your channel enough clearly!) but the colour is stunning! Bet it sounds the nuts too! Hope you enjoy a few miles once you’ve got that work done!
Really interesting Video Tom as its great to see the car in bits along with a rundown of all the parts and work required. I know the CGT is going up in value but I cannot get my head around a 16k service bill!! That said, it's worth paying that to keep it's provenance and history tip-top 👍
Thanks for sharing this Tom! It's something no one will ever know unless you are a millionaire. 16k is expensive but as the car is an investment for you it balances itself out. To me though it looked like they only really did oil/filter/sparks/tyres and some odd bits here and there......that VIP labour rate is insane! Interested to see when/if you sell the car whether or not it was worth it for you. The potential of a 50K service bill is surely worrying for anyone so I hope the overall ownership of the Carrera GT has been worth it so far 👍
A mate was supposed to be collecting his from service at Reading on Monday and heading up to spectate and join us the PCGB Silverstone track day. The silver CGT in the background looks very, very similar to his. Love seeing the detail son these things.
Brilliant video, Tom - very informative! I've always wondered how 'manageable' these things are in the real world. I'd say that the cost is almost trivial compared to the vehicle's value - it's probably appreciated more than £16.5 in the time that it took to carry out the service - no joke when you also consider what the 'value' of seeing that service stamp would be to any future potential purchaser anyway! A huge bill, but it must be far more painless when you consider what you're sitting in, financially anyway. Plus, if you carry on only covering similar mileage each year then you're pretty 'safe' I'd say!
Awesome video Tom. Really interesting and a great insight as to the costs of owning such a legendary car like the GT. I personally would like to see you make more videos like this. Great stuff!
It’s always the Labour they get you on, even on this it costs more then the actual parts. Still considering the car that’s not actually bad. I mean a Bugatti set of tyres is what 22 grand. But at least you know it’s a good car as they’ve stripped its engine out and checked everything. It’s important in the U.K. to have your car regularly checked because if the weather and climate, it can rust parts easily. Plus our crap roads wear parts away. Thanks for sharing a great informative video.
Came here from some instagram #. The poor baby hanging up there holding on for dear life! Never seen that before and I absolutely LOVED seeing this! I never even knew there are places like these where you can still get every part replaced from Porsche itself! That is amazing! Does other manufacturers actually do that?
Thanks for putting this video on. It’s very interesting and Iam pleased your car is good. I noticed spark plugs are about £45 each and you need 10. Damn lol.
Fantastic video very interesting information a bit strange why they want to charge you to re clip the clutch cable they have had to remove to get the engine out. Surely that should be included in the original labour costs!!!!!!
