Zack met Reno and Rude 7 years earlier right before he met Cissnei. Reno didn’t have his ponytail yet. They were also supposed to find Zack and Cloud and take them to safety but Shinra found them first.
@@13chabs776 And I am convinced he was literally popped out the womb, adjusted his shades and in his deep voice "Hello there, Mother". Meawhile, Reno was born and instantly said "SUP, SHITBIRDS"
Rude's guide to manliness: - Jump out of helicopters without a rope - Fight people with giant swords because they beat up your bestie - Say it's not personal before you do it - Throw people into other people - Keep spare sunglasses in case aforementioned people with giant swords break your current pair - Have the victory fanfare be your ringtone - Be late for important work assignments - Be flabbergasted when people use your one-liners back at you - F E E D B I R B S
To be fair, the fanfare ringtone seems to be a running gag, since one of the Remnants ( I think it was Loz? ) had it in AC. Hell, I used it for a number of years, myself. XD
"Be flabbergasted when people use your one-liners back at you" Lmao, I just realised Aerith used Rudes own line against him. She's so quippy in this game, I love it.
I swear every time Rude throws Cloud in this video is unintentionally funny as hell. You've got Cloud flying out of frame on his way to the moon at 2:28, Cloud hitting Aerith like a bowling pin at 3:01 and she gives that "WOAHHH", Aerith talking about how much of a badass Cloud is while Rude twirls him around like a figure skater at 4:10
i really like that he rarely focuses aerith and when he does he just put her to sleep or does her version of the grab attack which is just a little back hand to put her down while he deals with cloud , he even say "excuse me" to her when he does it . its little things like this that make the game better
@Steadfast Survivor Close, but a little off. That was Black Waltz 2, who was given specific orders to bring her in alive and unharmed. 3 had absolutely no reservations against killing her along with everyone else. In his own words, "I EXIST ONLY TO KILL!!!"
@Isildur Son of elendil That is actually a sound theory. It was strange to be how rude moved the chopper when reno was going to kill tifa. At that point i don't think rude should have know who she was so how could he have fallen for her? unless he was spying on all of them and got interested in her But it still seems a bit off for him. Your idea on the otherhand Can hold water. With rude being older than tifa, he could have been an advanced student and seen her from time to time without actually interacting with her or may have seen pictures of her on visits to their master. The instance where he saves her from reno may not be him really crushing on her (yet) but looking out for his fellow apprentice. the falling for her could come after the ass kickingsxD
@@outlaw0987654321 I think rude just doesn't like fighting females. You can see evidence in this video here where he tries to put aerith to sleep but cloud he's going full on assault. I saw another vid where he apologized when he targets tifa for an attack during the Battle of sector 7
I liked that line. It shows that when Aerith says "Rude's not a bad person", she was telling the truth. Rude knows that something VERY bad is about to go down in Sector 7 (if perhaps not the full details), and he's basically telling Aerith to stay home for her own safety.
I really like this kind of duality between Rude and Reno. Rude has a silent and calm personality, even though with hands like that he is literal one-man-army. However, he gets easily confused when something goes not according to his expectations, and it seems hard for him to argue with someone (it is described perfectly in interactions between Reno and Aerith in this video). On the other hand, Reno is all about agility and speed. As cunning as he is, he is not averse to take some reinforcements and traps with him. His personality is more rebellious, and yet he also shows some kind of laziness and overconfidence (still easily dealing with his defeat). And yet he is also more aggressive, cruel and likes to play with his enemies. They really are the best duo.
I never really thought it through that deeply. I did notice though how Rude is seemingly very stoic and serious, while Reno is very laid back and emotional, if cocky to a fault. And yet, they give Rude the humorous tick of always having extra sunglasses on hand. And that's not including AC having Rude casually stand up after getting knocked down, just to get beaned in the head by a sign. But they made Reno pretty much a joke in AC, too. They put a LOT of work into making this pairing work well at complimenting each other. And I love the subtle nod the remake pays to Rude's crush on Tifa. Similar to how in the original, there was always about a 60% chance that Rude would outright skip his turn, if Tifa was his only available target, and would NEVER target her if someone else was.
@@vroomy619 Yup. He'll NEVER target Tifa unless she's the only one standing. And even then, there's a chance that his turn will just feature a dialogue box saying "...." This is elaborated on during an optional scene if you stop by the ruined Gongaga village / reactor, where you can sneak up and eavesdrop on a conversation between Reno and Rude, where Reno asks him who he thinks is cuter, and Rude simply responds, "....Tifa." For more information, it's notable that Tifa and Rude both fight bare fisted, and it's likely he admires her skills as a fighter, as much as her looks. And for that, I appreciate the nod they gave to it, by having Reno try to shoot Tifa from the helicopter, only for Rude to suddenly jerk the controls to throw off his aim, effectively protecting her from his own partner.
When I saw this scene I immediately thought "wow it would have been so awesome if he opened his jacket to reveal he has 8 pair of them, before picking one and putting it. You know, just in case."
They kinda did, since another scene later has his glasses fall off, and as Reno picks them up, he already has another pair in hand, and puts them on. I love it. XD He's so overly serious, and yet they have just the perfect little gag for him.
2:16-2:21 *cloud and rude begin fighting each other* Aerith: No need To get ROUGH Cloud and Rude: Stay back You gotta Love how Both of Them are Telling aerith To stay Back so That she Won't get Hurt from Their fighting Each other They both Care about Her safety
Yet rude throws a guy with a 200 pound sword at herxD. but yeah It's great to see games pay attention to details like them warning her to stay back (both knowing damn well she would jump into the thick of things), how rude would just put her to sleep or give her a a chopp behind the neck, or how his hand slipped when reno was targeting tifa:P
@@outlaw0987654321Rude really respects women. He didn’t beat or perhaps refuse to hurt Aerith and Tifa. Just gave a chop at the back of the neck to knock them out.
4:08 love that Aerith is Hyping Cloud up wile Rude casually spins and tosses him into her. Cloud: "you don't know me" as he hurtles through the air and crashes into poor Aerith.
It's one of the running gags in the 7 series. Barret does it sometimes after battle in the remake, not to mention one of Sephiroth's remnants in Advent Children has the same ringtone.
I was expecting a masterful fight, taking no hits. This guy did exactly what I did. Ran in, got punched in the face, kneed, and thrown outta the damn game. Lmao
I like how Rude just beats the crap out of Cloud and tosses him away like trash. One of my favorite boss fights. Hope they add the expanded Turks in the sequel...lots of possible fighting styles there.
@@alimichalkan8046 Disagree. At least back in the earlier years of his time, he one-shot plenty of A-copies with a handgun. (Crisis Core) He may have agents to carry out most fieldwork, but I guarantee he can fight if necessary. He didn't climb up the Turks ladder with paper pushing.
"No I'm not bad but like it or not sometimes I gotta do bad things" This verse play back in my head the moment he pushed the button to drop the plate on sector 7.... It's beautiful how that verse was a setup for that exact moment.. this remake is turning out to be a real masterpiece
Rude is right, just because he has to do bad things sometimes (whether he likes it or not), doesn't mean he's a bad guy You know what they say: Even Evil Has Standards
Maybe they did not. I don't know if it is confirmed that the Turks actually use there real names. In Crisis Core there is a Turk named "Cissnei" and she states later that Cissnei is not her true name. So who knows whether the other Turks use their birth names.
Can someone explain his “Cross my T dotted my I “ joke for me? I’m not native English speaker so I don’t really understand what he mean is it’s A pun ? An Idiom?
Rude's basically he wants to be absolutely sure that Cloud's the one who beat up Reno. The phrase comes from doing official paperwork, where you want to make sure everything is correct and complete, such as crossing your t's and dotting your i's.
I like that too! Even better, when he moves into the space to fight Cloud, there are still pigeons crowded around him because either they like him, or they're expecting more food.
I just beat him in my first try playing on normal he was alot easier than Reno all I did was equip wind and elemental on Cloud and synergy on aerith, when ride goes for cloud I switch to Aerith and put barrier on Cloud and when he goes for her I switch back to cloud and do second level wind magic so it back and forth lol rude goes hard core for who u control.
@@hack5770 He's easier than Reno because we got Aerith to heal and backup Cloud. Meanwhile Reno gets free attacks on Cloud when you try to drink potions.
@@ZSleepingDragonZ true but I did learn a lesson the both fight first Reno punisher mode is not that bad just slow at times and for rude when the enemy is coming for u just switch lol
I hope part 2 of ff7 remake brings us more cute moments of Rude doing things that you don’t expect someone like him to do lol reminds me of the stories you hear of bikers taking in kittens and puppies lol
Reno: "Hey, uh...that thing you got there...?" Rude, holds up a bomb: "Shinra technology at its finest." Reno: "Oh, good!" Rude: "You love it, I know." Reno: "Looks like today we're clockin' out early!" --Advent Children (By the way, there is an old video out there of Reno saying that "Oh, good!" line first being sped up, and then being slowed down and it gets so hilariously sensual both ways 😂)
FF7 was diverse AF and a true testament to the 90’s not making it a vital plot point. If FF7 was a fresh ip today and not a remake they would be like LOOK, A LIGHT SKIN BLACK DUDE, LOOK HOW PROGRESSIVE WE ARE!!!
@@PlaystationGamerZX Well, the original game and subsequent sequels before Remake were released when flip phones were still a big trend. But since smartphones are the most used phone right now, they need to update the model.
This was the best fight in this game for me. The amazing thing is... I don't even like Rude that much... But he is amazing in this game. As a Boss and as a character.
