Sephiroth: "I'm going to cause an exo-galactic celestial body to move towards the solar system at super-luminal speed, have it crash through the outer planets, smash into the sun, cause the sun to go supernova, and then use the sun as my own personal oven to *cook.* *You.* Alive." Cloud: "H--how?" Sephiroth:"Equations..."
It can if you're down to the last standing, you get confused and attack yourself... It's happened to me after a long struggle (I didn't have Revive on my Ribbon user). -_-
@@heyyou322 Well only in the 1.0 Japanese version. The game was re-released with all of the changes and improvements from the international release shortly after that.
The fact they labeled the planets was significant for me, until then thought they lived in "Final Fantasyverse", but now it's either Earth all along, or if the point someone brought up is correct, our Earth is the universe where summons are brought from and to, Seph just erased an entire solar system in an alternate universe just to give you sunburn
+John Asamoah he would have become a god though because the energy from the explosion would have released whatever energy the plnet had and he would have evolved beyond being human. i think that was the purpose of the meteor summons to damage the earth and take the energy from the planet while its being destroyed so he can become a god or whatever it was he was trying to become
@Zap Rowsdower oh what about the fact the item (cloak) you needed to protect yourself from turning into the frog was only really found at the beginning of the game and if you didn't have it you might as well have started over from the beginning
Yea I remember i went 'yikes' at the damage, but then the ultimate status effects effed my team over. Cloud...my heavy hitter got confused and just lay waste to the others who had ribbons and killed them before I could smack him to make him unconfused. Learned to put a ribbon on him instead after that.
it does it oes 94% 599/9999 after the attack would roughly be 6% meaning you lose 94% of max hp after it and I beleave it didn't really happen it was mental
Lone Wolf Cid is 32.... not a kid. And older than Sephiroth too. Cloud is 21. Red XIII is in his 40's. Not a single one of the 3 in this fight is a kid. Even if you include any of the other playable characters, only Aeris and Yuffie are really kids.
If i remember it right (i'm lazy to do the math) it's actually 15/16.. so it IS totally worth it! However.. destroyin half of the galaxy..totally understand it. But he takes 2 whole minutes to do it! Gee man, i got shit to do in ma' life, move your ass! (a.k.a uranus)
Diskhate Then Sephiroth tells you, "You didn't see the looks on their faces. I could feel the sense of dread in their hearts at what I just did. I wanted to drag it out, because it pleased me to fill them with dread. I could feel the terror in them as the Super Nova was edging toward them. Then, I purposely left them with very little life so they could scramble to try to heal up before I finished them off for good." (devious smile)
What was with the 62556709374 number if the attack isn't supposed to kill you? The only way I can see to survive that is to heal (like shown) just as it ends since the health counter is like Earthbound's.
I remember watching this the first time during the final fight and my brother who was watching said something like "i got a bad feeling about this" after we saw the equations...
they could of made it a time based ultima that if he uses you insta die like they did with sin in 10 in other words you'd need to beat him in a set number of turns because if he used super nova you game over as the whole solar system was destroyed in his rage
"1: _Φ = WUγ + RUÏ + SUγUÏ_ 2: _W = -SUγΦ_ 3: _AU = (GMek^-2)^1/3_ 4: _n = Î r^2_ For those that don't know _Φ, γ, Ï_ and _Î_ are the Greek letters phi, gamma, rho and pi respectively. (pi looks a bit odd on here...) Also ^ signifies a power, so _r^2_ is r squared, and Me is supposed to have the e as a subscript not just a letter - therefore signifying the mass of the Earth (it was an e as far as I can tell). All that follows from this point is working on the assumption that the equations actually mean something. I don't recognise all of these equations straight off, with the exception of 4 (area of a circle). We can assume that 1 is only there to tidy up 2, as phi appears in both but is the subject of 1. Now although it doesn't seem so from the equations in the video, I believe that the greek letters rho and gamma are subscripts of U - this implies that the multiple occurences of U represent different potential energies. Other than that I can't figure out where 1 and 2 are really going, but overall I figure W is a negative energy(ignoring the fact that W is 1 and phi is in 2, as this makes life very difficult). 3 is something to do with the gravitational constant, the mass of the Earth and Boltzmanns constant. My Physics in this area is a bit rusty, but the Boltzmann constant applies to gasses so it seems odd that it be included here - assuming off course that it is the Boltmann constant. For the sake of simplicity I'll assume it's not the Boltzmann and just say that 3 is a gravitational accelleration. A few more assumptions and we are done... from the fact that the area of a circle is included I'm going to assume that the whole thing is set in 2 dimensions rather than 3(I can't think of another reason the area of a circle would be involved). This is further supported by the potentials, if you assume rho and gamma refer to these dimensions. We can also assume that the prefixes of the potentials have some sort of meaning, S meaning the Sun perhaps. So the potentials are that applied by a specific body in the x or y (gamma or phi) direction. In conclusion 1 and 2 string together to give the sum of the potentiasl (and therefore the attractive forces) of specific astral bodies (namely the Sun and other planets in the solar system), 3 gives the same but for the Earth and 4 just told us that it's working 2 dimensionally. Basically its all the energy the solar system is transfering to and from that stupid asteroid that crashes into the Sun. Assuming it's not just gibberish off course. Yeesh."
+Vandalgia *Yes.* *Couldn't let such a good piece of info to rot in a 2005 cave topic. Passing forward, man.* _These are not mine, indeed._ Note that a quote mark at the beginning and the final of the text was put by me, to treat the info as a block/quote. Also, the most viewed vid of Supernova animation deserves its possible meaning right at the top of the comment section - free of my _p.s.: capy/paste service folks_ . See? But i assure you: totally white intentions. Like, take the info for itself, and i'm out.
+Rez you mean...... THEY USED ACTUAL SCIENCE : ) sugoii. but seriously thats still really awesome they used real science in a video game. i dont think thats something you'd see to often.
I notice a lot of people commenting here don't realize how scientifically accurate this is. Didn't you guys see the equations at the intro? Shake my head emote.
+Johns-Santos Perhaps when Sepiroth starts casting Super Nova at the start of the fight (or possibly even earlier, for realism, cause that meteor has to travel 5 hours at light speed to reach Earth from Pluto) it becomes a countdown where you MUST finish the battle before it arrives. As the individual planets gets blown up in real time, and when it gets really close, maybe, JUST maybe, you can look up and see a frowning face on it... Bonus points: Said Supernova spell is actually the very same Meteor which the Lifestream saves the planet from. (Makes sense for them to be one and the same)
Mats Lindgren In one fight I had with this guy, he destroyed the solar system four times! I can't even imagine how many times he'd do it if you had all characters level 99, used Knights of the Round on JENOVA-Synthesis and whatever else to get him up to his max health. His health is 400,000HP maximum I believe? You'd be in for a long fight. 😨
every person who saw this the first time ''Super Nova? the hell is this? Math Equations? okay, a comet falling into our galaxy... (starts watching planets being turned to dust) *turns off the console*''
I swear I fucking did that the first time! hahaha I wasn't prepared at all and actually didn't think I'd beat Bizarro Sephiroth and knew I was in for a shit show when I realized there was another form immediately after! LOL
niceguy60 but Mars is ok, lol. Summons only affect those they are cast on. So all those plants and the sun are fine. Think of it as an illusion and the long show is how it powered up to do damage
Well, FFXV's longest summon is comparable to Knights ot the Round, the longest actual summon in FFVII. The latter is 1:30, and the XV Bahamut summon is 1:20.
The only move in a video game where you had just enough time between the start and end of the attack to run to the gas station, grab a gatorade and some chips with your friend and make it back home to cast Cure3.
I'm pretty sure Sepheroth only uses this move so that everyone could take a break for lunch... "SUPERNOVA!............Okay, we got two minutes. Someone get me down from here and pass me a sandwich...."
I can just imagine, everyone on earth just seeing that attack and just shitting their pants so much that they won't have to use a toilet until next year
Obviously Sephiroth took the brunt of the attack with his back and gave cloud a chance to survive it cuz in the end he's a coolgai and doesn't afraid of anything.
AwadeDomination13 You do realize a Super Nova CAN and WOULD no MATTER WHAT destroy a person and many planets? Yeah.. Cloud survived a Super Nova... That simple.. Link would not of won. It is like a new born baby vs Chuck Norris in his prime.
ElectronicRatings This Supernova was scripted to not kill you so really shouldn't count. Besides Link had the Master Sword which rapes Mako Energy plus he actually fights smart.
AwadeDomination13 No no no... the Supernova was scripted not to kill Cloud so it does count. Master Sword was never tested against Mako Energy. Your points are very invalid
It would probably be better if the player has to stop Sephiroth from casting Supernova when he attempts to, maybe he goes into charging mode and you need to use certain spells or deal enough damage to him to stop him. If you fail, you watch the 2 minute animation before your party just die, regardless of health point.
The funny part about this is they're obviously not on earth so maybe Sephiroth actually just sent a meteor to the wrong place killing us. And the explosion we see coming behind Sephiroth at the end is simply another random explosion than have nothing to do with the meteor. *Troll Face*
If you believe in the different world theory he just used someone else's world and you're witnessing that worlds Universe being destroyed You know like playing LeapFrog he just leaped to another universe and took you with him
HikaruHitachiin actually pluto AND jupiter exploded...i dont kow why people dont take in consideration that jupiter yes did have a hole in it but didnt you see it have its own mini supernova like seriously
This has to be a "game over" move in the remake. Sephiroth could spend some turns to power up and you would have to attack him before he unleashes it and stop the attack.
He kinda does this in the remake boss fight. Summons a meteor and starts counting down, hits 0? special scene plays where he yeets it at the team and it's a game over.
The most terrifying power in the universe: *Maths!* Also, i hope this becomes Sephiroth's Final Smash. I want to see the entire cutscene during a fight
That is nothing, when fighting his mother in the cave just before the final fight I had cloud use the summon that stuns foes (the skeleton with the pot) then Bahamut Zero in one move thanks to a double summon matieria. I then got my other two to mirror what cloud did so each turn I used 6 summons, 3 of wich stunned her so she couldnt do anything.
Death Battle is rigged in the sense the guys do shoddy research and are often influenced by the current trends. For instance, they had Tifa vs Yang just as when RWBY Vol 3 came out.
I see it as a warning from him as in 'this is what I am capable of' and i still think it's an illusion to mess with their heads and freak them out lowkey. Or he just pulled them into an area and summoned the comet to said galaxy he brought them too. As in he destroyed the milky way's sun to prove a point he aint messing around. Just my theory tho.
eriol This would be accurate. The planets would not be in a straight line so clearly being a comet or meteor the shot would miss numerous planets on the way. This is accurate and FF7 can go back to being a perfect game.
Latin chanting and math equations, yup we in danger. He even friggin had the different stages of fights to toss in as well. (Jenova as the first fight, then Bizzoro seph, then Safer seph.)
I remember as soon as I saw the math equations I rush to my items to get a mega elixir ready and just holding my thumb on the button to give it to my party
