Our first steps into the beginning of the optional content in Final Fantasy X. Jon will be your guide today as we explore the loot, fiends, and bosses of the Omega Ruins!
I have attempted 100% on FFX since 2001, and the Great Marlboro has been put an end to it about 6/7 times. After a few years off, I’m going for it again. Just gonna grind ribbons to save any heartache.
Get Auron’s celestial weapon and get him leveled up. The Masamune has the First Strike ability, which means he’ll be able to hit the Marlboro before it attacks. And if you level him up, he can kill the Marlboro with one hit.
I put first strike on tidus weapon and have him use provoke. Assuming it hits, which it does most of the time, it forces GM to use a damaging move instead of bad breath
For the record, the Demonolith enemies can be nerfed easily; simply use Silence Attack/Buster to remove their ability to counter with Pharaoh's Curse. Super helpful.
@@quantitativediseasing9988 True, but the abilities can be used indefinitely, whereas silence grenades are consumable. More effective, but must be farmed for.
@@embrezar Monster arena and Thorn; with 2 characters stealing on 4x speed, including restarting the fight, I can steal on average 10 grenades per minute. That's 10 minutes to farm 99 of them. How many silence grenades are you going to use in one battle against 2 Demonoliths? The answer is one! But using Silence Attack/Buster you're going to have to do it several times over for each Demonolith during each battle as those attacks are not AoE. Buster is one turn only; Attack is two turns but it can miss, especially when you consider that Demonolith has a 50% resistance to silence. Good to remember that, especially if you have a weapon with silencestrike because it'll miss 50% of the time. Grenades are 100% effective and never miss. With regard to farming silence grenades there is a much earlier opportunity though it depends on what you do with Kimahri. I find Kimahri's path next to useless so I always send him to Rikku's path. By the time I defeat Chocobo Eater I have the two Level 1 Key Spheres and Kimahri has Steal and Use. All through Mushroom Rock and the Djose Road you'll find Funguars; their common steal is a silence grenade. Have Tidus in the party with low HP and the Nulblaze Shield (given to you in Kilika after Lord Ochu battle) and you'll not have to worry about a game over from Pollen and Fire. If you only steal one or two silence grenades from each Funguar, by the time you've gone through both Mushroom Rock and Djose Road (there are even some in the early part of the Moonflow road) you'll have a bucketful of them, far more than you'll ever need for Demonoliths.
@@quantitativediseasing9988 Ah, but I have a limitation: you mentioned 4x speed, which means you're on Steam. I'm on PS5, so I don't have that luxury. I'm forced to play every aspect of the game at 1x speed, and no csr for me (cut-scene remover). But it's how I originally played back on vanilla when it first came out, so I guess points for that, even though fast forward would be nice.
I never made to the omega ruins ever i quit for about 12+ YEARS. I started again like 2 years back. Been on&off since, i captured all the fiends easy and never went back lol. Im working on the celestial weapons now i got 3 more left to do.
Also for the mimics, I don't think the mimic has ever spawned if you use mug to retrieve the item (or just kill the lizard first and ignore the treasure ofc)
For finishing I always use Yuna aeons (Anima or Magus Sisters) its really helped me thru the dungeons, the one that got the celestial weapon right now only Auron and Yuna 😅
First Strike weapon for Tidus and use Provoke 4 MP on Great Marlboro. Keep Tidus on the field and Marlboro will never use Bad Breath. Same strat for Spirit and it will never use Poison Mist. Sleep Buster Tonberry. Demonlith use Silence Buster it can't cast Curse, and have Stoneproof Armor equipped. EZ game
Have First Strike on your Capture weapons then use Provoke on Demonolith,Spirit or Great Marlboros. The Spirit will heal you with White Wind instead of countering with Poison Mist, the Demonolith worth use Stone Breath and the Great Marlboro won't ambush you due to First Strike and will not use Bad Breath. 😀
I'm on my first playthrough of FF10 and I started in it January. I already got all celestial weapons fully powered up lol. It took a long time, but I'm proud.
@@marlonthomas8042 I don't know how I got so lucky with Tidus' sigil. I completed the Chocobo racing in under 2 hours. Kimahri's was frustrating, but there are maps and videos that give you a good route. And with Lulu you can try a specific crater trick exploit that allows you to manipulate the lightning strike and dodge consistently.
@@marlonthomas8042I just got them all for the first time. They’re actually not that bad, especially if you look up how to cheese the lightning dodges and make Blitzball easy. You can get them all in ten hours or less.
I just got to the omega ruins for some reason I can't find Floating death so I can start farming triple AP weapons -__- I dont remember it being so hard finding him
Lmao the first time I entered here I was like "oh Kool found something interesting" then the first few battles I was like "wtf OP AF" Then died... a lot... I haven't completed or fully explored the Omega ruins... hence why I'm here 😅😂 FFX is a great classic and my personal fav of the FF Series... When I first played on PS2 I ended up giving up (OR), but with the remastered FFX I'm gona finally bet this MF OMEGA RUINS... ONCE AND FOR ALL 😂😂😂
Good question. It sounds so jaunty, like you're gathering for wine and cheese with classy friends, not facing some desperate fight to the death against terrible odds.
All you have to do is (ps4 remastered) before you enter the dungeon is turn the wifi to you ps off and then delete the game from the ps but DO NOT delete your save data then reinsert the game and reinstall the game but don't reconnect the internet and load your saved file and then get all of the chests (12) and you'll have 99 warp shapes
Got everything twice played like 50 times all together but not really don’t know the real number but lots now I’m just messing around with save wizard having fun i modded all the characters base weapons and armor with four slots 😊 and added one mp to all there armor cuz why not wanted to use all four of the weapons slots for other things also have auto haste and protect and ribbon on all the armor in the remaining slots and all the sphere grids except for empty slots filled for everyone with all + 4 and 300 health and 40 mp in place of there lower spheres 😊
Also a rare steal from Greater Sphere, but the easiest way to get them is to Bribe the Dark Element in the Sunken Cave (3 for 36,000 gil) or Mandragora in Gagazet/Zanarkand Ruins (24 for 620,000 gil).
Favorite game ever here, and this is my first playthrough in 22 years that I unlocked the celestials and took on ruins...I'd highly recommend doing so if not for the sense of accomplishment alone.
@iAm ErgoProxy watch some videos on it, and then keep trying. I found it easiest to do when I still had other stuff like monster catching and blitzball to finish up. I would just take breaks if I got too frustrated and come back to it. Chocobo racing I had to come back to like 4-5 times until one time I had a stroke of luck, and that mini game is the only one that's RNG based; Lightning Dodging and Butterfly Catching are just extremely taxing on your patience.
I know this post I'm replying to is almost a year old but you really don't need to be so overpowered. You can capture all the enemies in Omega Ruins in the NSGNSNCNONENNENBB challenge (for those who don't know, it means No Sphere Grid, No Summons, No Customise, No Overdrives, No Escaping, No No-Encounters, No Blitzball). Okay, you don't have to be as weak as in that challenge, but you also don't need to be hitting for 40k either. Strategy and the right equipment is what counts. Here's an example... Greater Malboro. Tidus with first strike uses Provoke; the Malboro doesn't do bad breath, just an AoE attack for around 1k damage or less. For all Tidus' subsequent turns use Delay Buster and you'll never see GM in the CTB window again. It'll never get another turn. Here's another one. Spirit with 2 Black Elements. Tidus uses Provoke on Spirit and then all it does is cast White Wind on your party. Have Rikku use silence grenade and frag grenade on black elements, steal shining gems from them, and then defeat them at your leisure. There are no really difficult enemies in Omega Ruins apart from Omega itself. Even Ultima can be bribed if you have a decent amount of cash; 2.5 million gil will guarantee you 99 Pendulums from it. If you're capturing, then stonestrike on a capture weapon will work on all the standard enemies except Black Element, Spirit, and Master Tonberry, (also Gemini, Greater Malboro, Demonolith and Wraith but they are classed as inside Sin). Varuna and Adamantoise will be a little difficult as they have 80% resistance to petrify. Black Element and Spirit I've already dealt with, and Master Tonberry can be put to sleep enabling you to lower its HP with Shadow Gems/Demi and then capture it at low HP. As you can see, Omega Ruins isn't that hard if you know what strategies to use.
Great Malboro. Tiduswith First Strike Provokes GM and keeps using Delay Buster. GM never gets an attack apart from its first turn. It doesn't do Bad Breath under Provoke, just a weak AoE attack for about 1k damage. The only way you're ever in any trouble with GM is if you don't have Tidus with First Strike on his weapon. You could also have someone else with it and switch Tidus in. Customise First Strike using a return sphere or you can buy Sonic Steel for Tidus from Oaka in Macalania.
If you delete the the disk version of FF-X and reinstall with updating (turn off internet connection) you can open all the chests without a mimic and get the x99 warp Spheres as a prize 😊
