I love how it takes 2:30 mins into this theme for the full eScape melody to finally kick in - you hear the first 5 notes from the very start of the Tower, but it’s incomplete and faint… as you progress, the melody slowly builds until you get the full “reveal” here. It has such a good feeling of suspense and progression. I was grinning from ear to ear, and a little misty eyed, when I first heard this track. That feeling of “oh, they’re really doing this”..! Such good storytelling, just through the music. Thank you for the upload!
As an FF14 player, I highly recommend that you do. It’s an MMO, so that may not be your thing, but CBU3, Soken and Yoshi-P truly made a masterpiece of an MMO. And the newest expansion’s coming out next month, so the hype is real.
the way me and my friends were all leaning forward in our chairs as I reached the next area, and as the first few notes kicked in, we all started to half mumble the lyrics before straight up YELLING in excitement. all you heard was "....a driftinnnG TENDERRR OH MY GOD" "DID THEY REALLY-" *"COME RIDE HEROES RIDE"*
I have a friend who played FFXIV as well and the second the leitmotif from "eScape" started he literally said "BOY, WE IN FOR A TREAT AT THE END OF THIS TOWER". And he was right.
