Oh man. That is great. It was an easy project. Just watch how you route the hose. We didn’t pay attention and it was a bit tangled but we got it sorted when we pulled the engine. I do highly recommend changing the hose as well. The pedal feels so much better as the braided hose has no “give” vs the old rubber one. Enjoy the time together :)
Yup bad slave cylinder is common on the 1st and 2nd gens. Had to do mine twice in a year because I replaced the original leaky one, got a part, and then that one went bad too. Good thing its a pretty easy job on these.
@@Turbo_Snail Thanks Turbo! Just to be certain - I can replace Slave & Master cylinder to get clutch engaging and functional again? It's a 1990, 215K miles, rarely driven however love the car and eager to get it back out on the road! I can't thank you enough for your insight and support!
Yes you can. It’s easier with a second person but this job is totally doable by one self. Let me know how you did. Make sure you bleed it properly. That clutch will feel nice again.
Here is a link to the full refresh kit. trackprepperformance.com/collections/miata-na/products/90-05-miata-clutch-hydraulic-system-refresh-kit?variant=43143849672872 Please reach out to TPP for individual parts inquiry. Thanks for watching.
Check the description. TPP has all you would ever need for the Miata and other cars. You do not need a new line. We ended up replacing the steel line with a braided line. The fluid is just regular DOT3 brake fluid.
The wheels on the Miata are some knock offs that came with the car. Wheels size is 16x8, tires are 195/45R16. I do not know what the offset is as it’s not printed on the wheel.
