TO ANYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEM TALKING OVER SCENES, PLEASE READ THIS: I’m with you. The dialogue in these next few seasons (including this one) is GOD TIER writing and I understand wanting them to savor every word of it and to not miss a single bit of important lore/plot info as this show is a major, sprawling opera with tons of plot lines and incredible dense, layered lore and world building. But stop for a second. These are pre-recorded and they’re already done with Season 1. I know it can be annoying, but let them watch the show how they enjoy it. It’d probably be better for them to rewatch any scenes or info they missed during editing than to stop, pause, and rewind the show multiple times during a reaction because that can just create awkwardness and it can really hinder the natural, organic flow of jokes and enjoyment. AND TO ANYONE COMMENTING MENTIONING OR ALLUDING TO FUTURE EVENTS IN THE SHOW: STOP IT. Even if you’re being incredibly vague, just don’t do it. Please. You don’t know what could or couldn’t be qualified as a spoiler to certain people, and you only get to watch GoT for the first time ONCE, so let them have the most organically blind reaction possible, please and thank you

So, about the Mountain and the horse... the winner of a joust got to keep the loser's horse and armour. The Mountain killed the horse to keep Loras from getting it, and fully intended to kill Loras to keep from giving up his armour. The Mountain doesn't do well with losing.

Robert Baratheon is not a moral man, but not a bad man at heart. I think he was probably a more or less honorable man when he was younger. Robert strikes me as a man that has always had a bad temper, but usually had his buddy Ned to help keep him out of any serious trouble. What ruined Robert was the Targaryen family. They stole the woman he loved, and, according to him, killed her. They also killed some important members of Ned's family. I think that Robert, deep down, is still terrified of anyone with even a drop of Targaryen blood in them. Beyond that, he never suspected that the Iron Throne would be a gilded cage. He doesn't get to do many of the things that fulfill him. In addition to that, he's surrounded by people who plot against him behind his back. No wonder he's in a foul mood. Cersei alone would drive any man to drink.

I can't do the full description justice but imagine having to scale an icy Grand Canyon until it looks like it's just sky beneath you. Then hopping into a large wine barrel once you get to the top and being pulled by some massive chains connected to the side of a mountain like a mideival ski lift!!! Lol, ah, what a fun spot.

Catelyn is putting Ned and her daughters in more danger for no reason right now, she should be in Winterfell preparing for war. Ned and the girls are collateral for the Lannisters, the council wants him gone cause he values truth over personal interest (Littlefinger) and the greater good (Varys). Ned was led by "his colleagues" down the same path as the last hand and his naïve self is putting his family in danger because he wants to play detective, what he's doing is worse than Catelyn. These northern honest people don't know how to play the game, Sansa was the only one playing it smart by playing dumb. I understand why the north is separate from the rest of westeros, it's really a clash of cultures and values.

Oh. Something I just put together. Ned was a badass fighter back in the day. Jaime is obviously disappointed that his fight with Ned isn't much of a challenge but it makes sense as Ned spent the last 18 years or so raising a family while Jaime has been jousting and sword fighting.

In terms of sword fighting, Jamie Lannister is Lebron James, Barristan Selmy is Michael Jordan and Ned Stark is like D Wade. He is a fine player but he ain't LeBron or Jordan.

Idk if anyone answered your question about littlefingers relation to catlyn. Littlefingers family has a castle in the vale, and sent their son to live with catlyns family. They grew up like cousins but they both treat their relationship like more of a sibling one.

The joking around regarding old enemies is because of two things: (1) they were once on the same side, and maybe even friends, and (2) they understand that each was honor bound to fight for their side. It wasn't even they not having personal beef, it's that they know the other had no choice. And I understand that modern gangs or motorcycle clubs or whatever have something similar, but the difference here is that while many years ago they were honor bound to fight for different sides, _now_ they are honor bound to fight for the same side. It's not necessarily for life in this setting, but that doesn't mean vows mean anything less.
