Please pray for my husband Johnny A. who is involved w/ spiritual wives, both minor and adults. Initially he admitted this was happening and now he denies it to the church and authorities! I appreciate your prayers and I hope your family is blessed.❤

Hi found this video interesting and helpful to out younger viewers. (note: I'm 71... been around awhile) I found "The One" in September of 1970. A Cambridge Cameo in Buffalo Skin. I have taken it with me all around the world. In the Army, Working for Billy Graham, as a Missionary to Germany, Austria, Italy, etc. Basically everywhere. It has not worn out. The pagers are a bit yellow but the binding is like new... still. That Buffalo Hide does not wear out. Some stains yes but good as new. I have used other translations like the NIV (1977) in Europe because people had a hard time with thw old English of the KJV. Of course I preached from my German Bible (Elberfilder) or from my Italian Bibles. For studies I use a NASB and/or the Greek or Hebrew. But "The One" is my old Cambridge Cameo. It got me thru Bible College and Seminary. It married a bunch of people, and was used in all of my funerals. So let me say I would recommend a Cambridge Bible for anyone. I know the older ones hold up well. They will last a life time if your care for them. I know mine is still good after over 50 years of use.

Spent a little over $1,000 but just now (couple hours since watching your video) I found what I believe is my bible; the one. It's the: KJV, Personal Size Large Print Single-Column Reference Bible, Premium Goatskin Leather, Red, Premier Collection, Red Letter, Thumb Indexed, Comfort Print: Holy Bible, King James Version.

Great advice to finding the right “one” in a time where there are so many options. RL Allan and Schuyler are my favorite Bible makers, but my favorite Bible is the ESV Heirloom Thinline by Crossway.

So I love old Bibles I like reminding them I like putting new ribbons on them because the paper quality of those bibles are so nice and you can usually find them for really cheap and some of them you can get really lucky and be brand new I've been fortunate to find NKJV Bibles that I'm just in love with and I spent maybe $100 on both of them and I love them and I'll remind them and keep using them until they obliterate to pieces😅

I think coming to terms with the fact that there likely isn't a one Bible that will do everything you want. Buy several Bibles for different purposes, one for daily study (desk Bible), one for taking with you (daily carry), one for study (study Bible), one for notes (wide margin, often can be the desk Bible as well)... Buy budget paste down versions and have them rebound LATER, when the binding begins to fail. Just my two cents.
@francsiscog
@francsiscog Год назад
If I could have a one, it would be 11 point font, center column, or maybe single column with reference, in NASB, with super opaque paper (think Judge or better), with concordance, extra pages to write in, and no more than 1/2 inch thick... Haha.

I thought the same thing until Crossway came out with the ESV Journaling Study Bible. Has both the bibles I want together. 1. Wide margin, and 2. ESV Study notes.

Don't forget good wills and thrift stores. When I got back to reading my Bible, I discovered translations!!! A local thrift shop had a big book section! 100s of Bibles and study guides. Some look brand new, some are well worn and loved. I find I enjoy the notes someone before me wrote 8:23

I agree. I bought a she reads truth because it was the only decent priced one (on sale) with wide margins cause I wanted to take notes in the Bible. If I took notes in a journal I wouldn’t look at the notes. And the notes help me to understand what I’m reading. I like the maps and everything in it and in my current use it works perfect but I am for sure going to save up and get either and interleaved one later or a wide margin spiral bound Bible

For me, it’s a Pitt Minion Cambridge for carrying around. And a Thomas Nelson Maclaren for home reading. I have many bibles, but if I could only have 2, it would be those.
@bro.bsbibleun-boxingreview2149
Like you and many others, I have several bibles that I love and regularly use. I have been searching for “the one” for a while also. I used and still possess a Wide Margin Cambridge NKJV that I used for about 10 years. But that 8 pt print finally got me. I’ve built quite the collection just in the last year trying to find that one, but just couldn’t find it……until today. I just opened, and will be doing an unboxing on my RU-vid channel of my new R.L. Allan 63 Longprimer Sovereign. It checks all the boxes for me. So for the foreseeable future it will be my “ONE”. I really enjoyed your presentation. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for your wise counsel !!At this point, I would like to try the NKJV interleaved Bible which came out recently ( Nelson, I think ). I am using their NKJV Journal The Word in Large Print; 10 pt. for 75yo eyes, and 2 inch wide margins with creamy thick paper for making notes. However...very limited notes, no references and no concordance and no maps limit its flexibility in use. No such thing as a "perfect" Bible unless your list is short. Years ago, Nelson had an Open Bible, Large Print with Wide Margins--I would have liked to try that out, but the used market usually runs $200+. Anyway: Keep up the good work on the Good Book !!

I have a few bibles, but my one is a Longprimer 53. To me it's just an awesome Bible. I leave it at home to read. My office, church, travel bible is a Nelson Premier KJV Personal Goatskin red colored. I don't really like red but the entire bible is awesome, easy to read and quite a value. Maybe some day it'll be my first rebind.

I, also, have too many, in various translations, including The Complete Jewish Study Bible, which I should have done more research before purchasing, it's gender neutral. My 3 favorites are The Hebrew-Greek Study Bible, Thompson Chain Reference Bible and The Old Scofield KJV. I prefer larger print because of my age and the cover is very important, as is the need for a built in Thumb Index. Right now my Thompson is in need of replacing because it is a hardcover and the pages are starting to separate. The Hardcover Old Scofield I have is rather new, so, I probably won't replace that one or the The Hebrew-Greek Study Bible because I have one I purchased is also fairly new. I really love all that The Thompson Chain Reference Bible has in it, so, I will have to see what is online and if there are any options locally at the Mall to look at before making a final decision. Thanks for the video.

Too RISKY for my liking ... here's a different approach: Buy a BUNCH of CHEAP Bibles that each have key features you want, read through them then, when you ACTUALLY know what works for you, buy a premium Bible. WHY? It's easy to think you might want certain features, or hate others, only to find out you're wrong. Make the mistake with a $20, and not a $200, Bible!

I have several Bibles and each one serves its own purpose. My one and only, for decades, is the Schofield NKJ Study Bible. It is falling apart and marked up pretty much everywhere. I had to start buying large print Bibles though, because of my aging eyes. I own and use several versions because I like to be able to follow along with whomever I am listening to. I also have a couple versions that are large print for reading only because a few reviewers have talked them up and I wanted to try them out and compare them with the versions I trust. While my collection has grown, I have made it a point to be mindful of price. I am on a fixed income and, since I don't have children, I also have no one to pass my treasures down to. I will say that the Bible I would want to be buried with would be my old Schofield, even though I would no longer be needing it!

yes I like the bold font of the Thompson as well.. but I do Not use it too often.. because it is a tad too small of font for me... if it was another size or two.. bigger in scale... it would be the perfect bible to be able to read without reading glasses. .hmmm.. maybe I need to get that one in the 9+ font
@BibleReviewChannel
@BibleReviewChannel Год назад
The newer Thompson Chain References are a 9.5 font and it is very bold. I use bifocals and usually need to go 10 or more (Favorite is 11), but the Thompson is very legible.

If forced to choose only ONE, it would be either my Schuyler Canterbury, or my Cambridge Turquoise. I can't place one above the other because each does some things better than the other. Big, bold, most legible font? Turquoise. Slightly better cover-to-liner gluing and stitching quality? Canterbury. Slightly better concordance? Turquoise. Better maps? Canterbury. Both have equal quality paper, overall similar size -though the Turquoise is lighter and a little bit more narrow, Similar quality ribbons, and both feel just soft, supple, floppy and just great in your hand. If your ask me one day I might say one, and the next day I might say the other. They're just both great and you can't go wrong with either one.

I don't have that just one bible. I own around 17 different English translations. I use them all in doing bible research. And having said that, I really like the old GENEVA BIBLE. I find that in the New Testament, it more closely follows the Greek better than even the KJV. Who new! But the bible bridge! You know, the NKJV Nelson Publisher from way back in 1985; that's my favorite bible. I guess the 1951 RSV is probably 2nd.

My, the one; would be a bible that is not too big. I have NKJV Quentel, and while it's beautiful, is too big for my small hands. I wish they would offer the same text block with a paste down calf split. The calfsplit would allow me to hold it with one hand. I wish they would make the Quentel as a medium large print

I have found ONE OTHER factor ways in on the bible as well... FONT TYPE....... there are several bibles I own that are close to size 11 font... but the print font is so narrow I still can't read it without my readers.. I have a Thomas Nelson.. King James study bible from some of their first renditions... that have like 8.5 font but the print is so Bold.. I have No problem reading the bible text without readers.. sadly newer renditions of this bible even the large print editions... are Not as easy to read because they changed the Font to a thinner font type...AND... bibles I have with 11 + font type.. I still need readers on ..because the font is so thin...

oddly on that Schuyler bible which you like you comment that the one thing you would change is that you would like to see the font size of the concordance to be a tad bigger... yet the reference notes appear to be the same size to me or pretty close.. and you have No issues with the reference notes?.. when witnessing.. aren't references equally as important as concordances..?..

The references are about one to two point sizes bigger and the print is bold for the references. Very much easier to read.
