A random observation about Cordelia I like is that she and Sumia have "opposite" class options. Mercenary vs. Knight (which has access to Sol and Luna respectfully) and Dark Mage vs. Cleric. Even with Ricken, Cordelia's daughter won't have that high a magic growth with only 40 (45 with a magic asset Avatar) as a mage/sage.
I've never been huge on Cordelia as a character, but by god is she a good unit. She's one of the few people who can honestly use all of her class lines well and she has one of the more impressive Gen 1 Skill load outs. Also, 60% Strength Growth Peg's are best Peg's Also, if what you think about proto Cordelia is true, we could have had another Raquesis x Eldigan on our hands. Oh boy...
"Use all her class lines well", except Dark Mage, and she's not that great as a Dark Flier either. Sumia has her outclassed there, though SPOILER CHARACTER (Who we won't be getting until MUCH later) has them BOTH outclassed in that particular area.
BigKlingy By "use", I was more so referring to her acquiring and using the Skills each line presents her. For example, Virion isn't the best Sage in the world, but the Tomefaire Skill works really well when you make him a Dark Knight.
Oh, right. As for her character, I'd have prefered if they'd somehow changed her level up and event tile quotes to not mention Chrom when she's married. Considering a major cause of problems in the Bad Future was her daughter thinking she was still obsessed with Chrom... yeah.
BigKlingy That's primarily the reason my favorite Supports of hers only bring Chrom up in the S Support. Even then, it's actually the husband who mentions him. Also, a lot of my distaste for Cordelia isn't even from her character, but a few friends in real life who waifu'd (that's the worst verb I've ever used...) her. Let's just say they're.... interesting folks.
The support I'm going with actually falls into that category. It's similar to how I prefer Tharja supports that don't mention the Avatar. And yeah, I can really see how you'd dislike the character for that. I actually dislike Chrom a lot due to how creepily posessive his fangirls can get, for example. (It's actually the main reason I'm glad he didn't get into Smash Bros) Cordelia is definately in the "top 3" Waifus for male Avatars, in both Japan and the west, but a lot of the people who "waifu" her sadly reduce her character to a weepy wreck who needs comforting. Like I've said at the end of this video, there's a lot more to her than "oh boo hoo why won't Chrom love me". There's one other in the top 3 who gets treated pretty horribly too (and their Smash Bros appearence made it even worse), but I can't speak their name yet due to spoilers. (The third already has a lot of justifiable reasons for disliking them outside of shipping, so their situation isn't quite as bad)

Cordelia is one of my favourite characters. She passes down Galeforce and Lifetaker naturally and her child is one of the best of the children just naturally. I plan on having her pass down Galeforce and her child can grab Lifetaker themselves
So, from the looks of Cordelia's early artwork, I guess they were either originally planning of making her Chrom's younger (or older, don't know her exact age) sister or planning on making her Chrom's daughter or something.
That artwork of Cordy looking so similar to Lucina makes me think that there's a bizarro universe where Lucina was the exalt and Chrom was her time-traveling son x)
This game (and this LP) is years old, I'm surprised it took THIS long for you to learn about the time-travel plot... also, Robin is much better than Kilngy makes her out to be, don't listen to him :P
Also fun fact the only marriage supports that don't elude to cordelia's feelings for chrom are Kellam's, Donnel's and kind of the Avatar's (though in her confessional she stalls before she says "all others" hinting that she was think of chrom at the moment)
At least the ones that do usually mention she's over him, like in Gregor's where SHE proposes to him. Also, Cordelia's supports with the Avatar are weird because, apart from S, they're actually identical for both males and females.
Redni The Espeon Yeah, for some reason I couldn't find a picture of Lon'qu as a Trickster. Of course, for some of the later Spotpass characters the wikis don't have any pictures of any of their non-default classes, so I had to screenshot them all myself (using Second Seals then reloading without saving).
On your whole exposition of "perhaps cordelia and Chrom were meant to be related so they couldn't support" Let me just point out that Chrom and Lissa's children can S support each other. So clearly, the developers were not worried about the awkwardness of "family affairs"
thrasher698 There's a BIG different between S Supports between cousins and S Supports between siblings. A very big difference. Contrary to what a lot of people say, the Fire Emblem series is not full of brother-sister incest, except for the 4th game. (And even then, the one plot-relevant incest pairing happened due to brainwashing) Really the only implied incest pairing outside of the 4th game I can see is Pricilla and Raven, and that's only canon on Pricilla's side. And, well, Vincent and Victor (and by extention all the "bandit twins" in the series), but that's strictly played for comedy. Erika and Ephriam is just fans reading WAAAAY too into things (at least IMO).
While her Res is kinda low, it's not really low. I generally don't pay much attention to the Wind weakness of Pegasus Knights, since their Res is so high it doesn't really matter. Wyvern Riders are the ones who need to watch out for that.
PikaMageCatria had a lot more Skill and Speed but less Strength and Defence. Still, Cordelia is a direct reference to her. Generally the second Pegasus Knight you get in an FE game is more Strength-focused while the first one emphasises Speed.
If Chrom and Cordelia could be paired when it comes to stat modifiers they would be very strong because the kids would have plus 3 strength 0 magic plus 4 skill plus 4 speed 0 luck plus 1 defense minus 1 resistance
Well, yes, she has GREAT potential as a sorcerer when you've maxed out her stats - I can attest to that, she's a terror on the battlefield due to being an Armsthrift-capable Sorcerer who can use a forged Aversa's Night tome with near-impunity. That said, she's not that great at it before grinding due to low Magic unless she gets lucky level ups or a lot of Spirit Dust.
BigKlingy Yep! I love when the classes reflect the character of the unit. Like Cherche getting the Cleric branch because she used to be a cleric or Ricken getting Chrom's classes because he looks up to him.
IDK what's a guide dang-it about Ai's social link, just don't pick the options that would obviously piss her off in a few social links. If your talking about dating her long term, the only thing hard about it is realize that you probably shouldn't agree to date someone who just tried to commit suicide over being rejected by a guy.
While it's obvious some choices in Ai's SL are bad, what's not obvious is that they'll INSTANTLY cause the SL to Reverse. She's the only one who does that. There's also the fact that the choice that determines whether her SL is platonic or romantic is pretty much the opposite of everyone else's. (It is pretty obvious choosing to date her immidiately is a very bad idea, but it's not hard to immaging someone going for a "harem" route to fall for it) Also, you ALWAYS end up dating her in some way, which is tricky if you're trying to avoid cheating. Still, it's nowhere near as much of a Guide Dang It is the Female Protag's romances in P3 Portable. Akikiho requires you to select a specific option (and it's the one that DOESN'T give as much points) very early on for the romance later to even be possible, Shinjiro requires you to spend time with him after the link is already maxed (and his is the LEAST Guide Dang It-ish), Ken has complicated flags and Ryoji must be hung out with at EVERY possibly oppertunity or you fail his link entirely. Compare this to the P4 Protag, where the choice is basically just "do you want to date this girl, yes or no."
