The conversations between Chrom and Cordelia from the Summer Scramble DLC. This conversation can only be triggered if Cordelia is single. Game being played is Fire Emblem Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS.
Chrom: "I think Cordelia has problems with heat." Robin: "What makes you say that?" Chrom: "Well, when I walked up to her, she started talking weird, and then she said she might die, so I offered my arm to guide her to the shade, and she fainted." Robin: "Chrom?" Chrom: "Yeah?" Robin: "You're an idiot."
let see the list here a total dork (check) oblivious to crush's love (check) a genius in battle (check) not a genius in everything else (check) get's the girl at the end of a saga atleast (check) chromgratulations chrom you are an official anime main character together with goku, luffy, naruto and ash.
+Robert Kelly her name was Catria, who was a Pegasus Knight like Cordellia. and like Cordellia, she had feelings for Marth but never got around talking to him and Marth marries another Pegasus Knight, Caede (or Shiida)
Does it make Sumia a bad friend that almost everyone in the army knows about Cordelia's crush. But Sumia, her CHILDHOOD FRIEND just marries her best friend's crush anyway? Cordelia you should of cooked that pie and bento first! XD
Austin Rutledge It's like they're just set up together to be childhood friends. Cordelia: Extremely Perfect Sumia: Not so perfect Obvious yin and yang combination. What did Sumia do to become her best friend? Did Sumia stick up for Cordelia when she wad being bullied? Yes, no, maybe? Stupid low supports.-_-
Tfw you try to pair Chrom and Cordelia on your first FE:A playthrough and don't realize that they don't have a support until you've spent 15 battles putting them together. Poor Cordelia. :(
@@Mojo1356 I feel like it actually makes a lot of sense. In this interaction, it's obvious she puts Chrom on a pedestal and if her perception is that he is god-like, and she's a flawed human always looking to improve, then she'll never be able to treat him in a way that would suggest her being a good partner, let alone a decent comrade around him. It's like, how celebrities could date any diehard fan out there. Having them constantly act and say stuff like, 'YOU'RE THE BEST'! is not only annoying but uncomfortable and leaves them passive -aggressive if they ever don't meet their ever hope and expectation. You can't build real love or a good bond in general with the idea of someone. Being idolised is exactly what would start a longtime rift unless she stops acting like a massive fan girl. Olivia is nervous around everyone, but even she manages to build genuine rapport with Chrom because while she admires him, she's not talking to him or acting like he's a god from the heavens and that's the difference. Chrom also doesn't like to be referred to by his official royal title or deal with the status much in general. Apologies, this is long lmao. I'm not opposed to the pairing by itself, but she needs to treat Chrom like more or less of an equal in a way to qualify and have him come anywhere close to realising or having feelings for Cordelia.
I like how this can only be triggered if Cordelia's single. That means if she got married, then she got completely over her feelings for Chrom, or at least reduced to the point of avoiding her spaghetti-legs. That, or she likes her current husband more, which is just as sweet. But damn Chrom, how can your skull be so thick!?
Alm: Broken Vending machine Rejects everything and everyone Chrom: FE version of Katchin from DBZ The metal so dense it broke the Z Sword (possibly it's heart too)
Cordelia: "I love you Chrom, I love you Chrom, I love you Chrom, I love you Chrom, I love you Chrom..." Chrom: "This woman doesn't love me for sure!" ¬¬
hmm let see the checklist of anime main character troupes to see if chrom fits the bill pure heart-checked- prodigy fighter-checked- have a bromance relationship-checked- a total dork -checked- his goals are the entire plot -checked- oblivious to love -checked.........(minus)- in conclusion chrom is the goku, naruto and ash of fire emblem.
A..A..aaaaw. It's still painful to watch but when Chrom said he was worried about Cordy fainting under the hot sun "eventhought that's not the case", it is still pretty sweet.
Although it gets kind of sickening how she keeps on dwelling on and on about it. She is an emotional massochist... Edit: if he assumes Cordelia is unwell because of the weather, how did she fare well in Plegia? 👀 He didn't notice?
*_CHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!_* *goes Super Saiyan*
And you thought Ash Ketchum was dense... Cordelia: Hey Lord Chrom! What's your favorite Pokémon ability? Mine is Cute Charm! Chrom: Mine is Oblivious! Cordelia: *Smiling yet dying inside* Honestly, if they could support you'd get an extremely OP Lucina...
No. You're definitely not. I actually really don't like Cordelia as a character at all. She initially introduces herself as basically perfect and a genius, her supports are all about how good she is at everything, and it's heavily insinuated that in the future she basically leaves her husband and child behind to continue pining after Chrom. She basically doesn't have any character traits beyond being a perfectionist and being that girl Chrom's not interested in.
+DairusCates I'm fine with your points, but I just wanna say that the part about Cordelia "pining after Chrom" is her ending if she's left unmarried, that does not mean whatsoever that she would leaver her husband and child.
@@nintendochrisx8633The ultimate reason is because Nintendo don't let Chrom as main protagonist to marry both of Pegasus knight based girl which will yield relatively similar Lucina in skill so that's why they choose sumia over cordelia cos of previous event that they involved in
I wish I could marry Chrom to Cordelia. She's the only one I want with him besides my own unit. The whole Sumia thing with Chrom is cute but I don't like how they push that couple so hard.
FireEmblemLugia - Mr. Scratch Cordelia is actually based on Catria, another Pegasus Knight from the original Fire Emblem. She had feelings for Marth too, you see, but as you know he ended up with Shiida and it was impossible for him and Catria to get together. Other similar characters have followed, like Marcia having the hots for Ike (Slightly), Elincia was in that boat too (But at least she got Geoffrey!) Cordelia's the same. She's in love with the main lord of the game, but they can't get together.
Loveable Bunny It's tradition, mixed with some practicality. The average RPG has, what, 5-10 characters in a party. Fire Emblem has you manage an army numbering anywhere from 20-50. So instead of having to create a bunch of characters that won't even be given the time for character development they need, they instead save this for the Lords. All the rest, they take from a pool of Archetypes and play around those archetypes to create unique, interesting characters. Take for example, Cain and Abel, a pair of Red and Green Knights (Sully and Stahl). Lena, a healer you get at the beginning of the game (Lissa). Maria, another healer who was held hostage and thus joins later (Maribelle). Gharnefs and Ephidels, dark mages that manipulate the plot from behind the scenes (Validar and Aversa) and so many more. Camus, an enemy general that doesn't hate the player party yet simply fights for his nation and/or family (Mustafa). There are many more. And you can find them in the link down below. fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Archetype Don't mistake this for being lazy. Like I said, instead of simply copy-pasting, they play around these archetypes to create interesting characters.
embioz1 And that way we can have the two primary lead characters (Chrom and Robin/the Avatar) paired with the Pegasus Knights who are best friends (Sumia and Cordelia). Its also great for pulling out a large number of Galeforces with minimum effort (although not for the absolute largest total on the overall team). Chrom and Robin are both able to have two kids if they marry one of the women of the first gen [their own personal kid, Lucina and Morgan respectively, as well as the woman's kid]. That means that their wives would in principle be able to inherit their Galeforces (which both can get from Pegasus Knight 10-20->Dark Flier 15) on to their two daughters each. So you get up to 6 units with Galeforce for the greatly reduced effort of only needing to train the two mothers up to Dark Flier 15. Sumia gets Galeforce herself and can pass it onto Lucina and Cynthia. [Although the former would likely require grinding or favoritism to do before ch 13, its possible]. Cordelia gets Galeforce herself and can pass it onto Morgan and Severa. Six Galeforces for the price of two.
***** I find it rather weird because this is a game that prides itself on "Choice" (Which, in of itself, does not have any effect on the STORY whatsoever aside from minor scene alterations) and has pairings for uncountable numbers of characters in the game... Yet the one with the real, canon desire for another character cannot be with that character.
If they ever have a pair like this in another Fire Emblem game I hope they at least give them a friendship support. Imagine If these two started having support conversations and it ended at A with Cordelia coming to terms with her unrequited feelings and moving on.
There is no mistake here. Cordelia was supposed to be a call-back to Catria, which means she could never marry the main lord. Meanwhile, Oboro's case resembles Vanessa in Sacred Stones
+Combat Wombat And if you look at concept art for Cordelia, she actually _looks_ like Lucina. I am not lying. Here it is: vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/b/bc/Tiamo1.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130119152540
Oh my god... So THIS is what happens when Chrom x Cordelia are alone together! XD FINALLY. Poor Cordelia, always doomed to find a new love instead. But I'm glad they showed, that at the end, she was at peace with her unrequited love! :)
I guess I understand now why there is no "Id: Serenity" theme playing in the Robin & Cordelia S Rank, even though it was kinda obvious. "Ha ha! Yes, it will take some getting used to!"
You know, I used to hate Cordelia, but she grew on me. A LOT. The ONE thing keeping me from marrying her in at least once is Severa, who is easily my least favorite unit in the game..
Really? I like severa thou shes one of the strongest child unit, doesnt had aether? No probs astra sol life taker gale force and aggressor/vantage made her op. Characteristic wise well..... shes good... as a daughter cuz her interaction
I did too (I still do, kinda), but given the name of the theme that plays in every non-avatar S-rank support (the last phrase I have in quotes), it sorta makes sense.
It honestly saddens me how I can never marry Cordelia to anyone. Reason one: Severa would be created, and I DO NOT want that. Reason two: She still fantasizes over Chrom despite being married to someone else.
***** Yes. This is correct. Support conversations never change to reflect character developments from other support conversation, marriage, children, etc. Each attempts to show a story arc, but when some of them have similar subject matter it leads to problems because you can have the character develop in one arc seem to contradict the lack of said development at the start of a different arc when you work on a different support later on. Also, while support conversations never change, Cordelia actually does lose access to this DLC conversation if she's married.
Poor Cordelia, It's sad how no matter how much she loves Chrom, he never returns her affection. Even Sumia acts more confident around him, yet even still Cordelia never has a chance. Ugh, this made me sad, I need to go find Mother, maybe some tactical simulations will cheer me up...If I can beat her...
Dashie Allheart Its a reference to Catria's unrequited crush on Marth from an earlier game (and Marth married Caeda). Like Sumia and Cordelia, Caeda and Catria were also Pegasus Knights.
A red haired Lucina would be pretty nice, but unfortunately its not to be. Sumia's Lucina has a +1 speed and +1 magic advantage over Cordelia's Lucina, although Cordelia's Lucina has a +3 strength advantage [not a comprehensive list]. Cordelia would give Lucina the potentially best attack skill in the game [Vengeance, given its high damage output and the ease of getting it to 100%] as well as Armsthrift access.
