So Basilio performed this trick in front of Lon'qu, the greatest swordsman in Ferox, just enough to gain his interest, but Olivia, the dancer, had seen it enough to properly know how to perform it, therefore forcing Lon'qu to talk with Olivia in order to learn, helping the two to get over their fear of the opposite gender. The sly bastard planned this from the very beginning, didn't he?
I like the fact that Olivia helped Lon'qu regain his confidence back in himself even if she's not confident herself, they also seem to have history together. In the majority of his supports he's trembling and what not, but in this one he looks like he's really comfortable with her and for him especially, it would take a lot time to do that. He loves her because she makes him stronger. Two socially awkward people are meant to be. Plus them having Inigo is perfect. Maribelle helped Olivia with her shyness by giving her advice so she did the same with her son because just like Lon'qu, he was having women problems until she intervened. This is my favorite ship in the whole game.
It is cute but socially awkward people are not always meant to be together. Me and any other socially awkward person don’t mix, we just sit together in uncomfortable silence 😂
Because, in the Japanese version, Olivia manages to get Henry to smile a true smile, and his false smile falters when Olivia's under the effects of a death curse. In the North American Version, his smile was real the whole time, but it still turns into a frown in the same circumstance.
Yeah, this is one of my favorite pairings for her, and I really hate Henry x Olivia, they're so overrated and Inigo looks horrible with Henry's hair lol.
Because their supports were great as well. Also with if Inigo was Henry's father and Henry talked to Inigo in the Past Future dlc, Henry admits that Olivia was actually able to make Henry smile for real for the first time
Dark Storm it’s actually revealed in a convo between Henry (father) and Inigo (Son) (btw, it wasn’t a support convo, but I don’t remember what it was called) where he said that his smile, was in fact fake and Inigo shouldn’t bottle up his emotions like he does.
It's interesting on how in Lon'qu's other supports he's a blushing buffoon. A "blush-oon" if you will. But not so much with Olivia. You'd think with his fear of women and Olivia's shyness they'd be constantly looking away in embarrassment or running from each other. But it isn't.
It actually makes sense when you consider why Inigo became a skirt-chaser in the first place. During one of his support conversations with Olivia, he mentions how when he was a kid he used to be even shyer than she was, and she basically got him to start talking to women to overcome his shyness.
Lon'qu is the best character in the game he's like the bad ass guy with a good heart. I always hook him up with either Olivia,Cordelia,Cherche or Tharja
Keith Jordan L I do sometimes because even though I prefer Henry x Tharja. Lonqu x Tharja is a good shipping and the support convo makes better sense with Lonqu as Noire dad than Henry as her father
Inigo: So Dad, how many girlfriends did you have before Mom? Lon'qu: Zero. I had gynophobia until I met your mother. It was REALLY hard trying to kill Aversa. Inigo: Mom, how many boyfriends did you have before Dad? Olivia: Zero. I had major stage fright, so every man except Lon'qu and Basilio scared me. Inigo: *to himself* Man! My parents are complete pussies! I'm gonna get laid and be nothing like them at all! Yeah!
Hands Down my favorite couple in the game. It’s so adorable and it was the first pairing I ever made. I ship these guys so bad! Perfect couples doesn't exi-
Hmm! There is a lot of interesting discussion about how Inigo fits into this picture, but I don't think he's a hard fit as Lon'qu's son. The support conversation Lon'qu has with Inigo also does make sense if you really think about it. (Granted, I think Virion is the best choice for Inigo's Father, but mostly that is because watching 'Virion the monkey' call 'Inigo the cat' 'a long-tailed fuzzball' is funnier.) While Lon'qu is "scared of women" on the surface, he is actually afraid of getting close to them and then causing them to be hurt or killed as a result. It isn't the girl herself he is scared of, but what he associates with girls- which is death, destroyed relationships, and emotional trauma (and really hateful parents.) Lon'qu doesn't say it, but it is heavily implied by Basilio's dialogue that Lon'qu threw the fight to Lucina at the last second because he realized she was a girl. In a fight for life or death, he would have killed Luci because he didn't have a choice, but a situation where he had the freedom to choose to fight her for real or not, the thought of hurting lil' Luci was probably absolutely the WORST thing he could think of happening. It is really sexist of Lon'qu to hold back for Lucina, but it is not sexism born from bigotry- and therein lies why so many girls still like him, too! The truth is that Lon'qu is scared of getting close to women because he likes them and gets attached to them rather easily. It also is not so much that he thinks women are inferior to men on the battlefield (interesting to keep in mind for the conversations with Sully)- he just thinks it is that much more tragic and upsetting when they die. Lon'qu doesn't see himself as worthy to be near women (see his conversation with Cherche and Tharja) because he feels he somehow brings strife upon them. Basically, dear, sweet, honorable, shy, strict, tactless, and blunt Lon'qu puts women on a pedestal. And, as this support log implies (as well as all the ones he marries somebody in), Lon'qu likes women. Lon'qu likes women A WHOLE LOT. He is potentially the straightest guy in this whole game. Enter Inigo. Inigo flirts. Shamelessly. He interacts with gals in ways Lon'qu could never DREAM of doing on a regular basis (which is great unused fodder for a specialized support, but whatever), but more importantly, Inigo ENDANGERS THEM NEEDLESSLY! Oh, the horror! What if he breaks their hearts?! What if he drags the girls he courts into some horrible situation inadvertently, and why SO MANY girls?! What if Inigo simply damages their reputation?! And where IS Inigo's discipline if he is always goofing off and holding so little concern for the hearts and well-being of these women?! Why CAN'T he be like Lucina, who is honorable, decent with a sword (let's be real- Lucina hits hard and has good stats, but Lon'qu is stupid difficult to hit at all if properly trained so he would probably win by outlasting her in a straight duel), and also LITERALLY has no sense of humor and therefore can't get on Lon'qu's nerves? Luci is a nice, strong, honorable, conservatively boring (it is all well and good if you like her, but her lack of humor is her only real interesting feature beyond the 'tragic future' bit, archetype-wise) character. Also, she's a cute little fifteen-year-old girl who doesn't flirt. Of course Lon'qu would have a soft spot for her. If Inigo were a girl, however, Inigo'd be walking all over daddy Lon'qu. That's what I think, anyway.
Hey, to all the commenters who come just to shit on this ship, or say another pairing is better... Knock it off. Let us enjoy these shy nerds getting together.
Well, you must rememver that Inigo was actually MORE shy than Olivia and Lon'qu put together. Olivia giving him advice on getting over it, by talking to girls(Poor Lon'qu...), is what changed him though he's still quite shy at times.
Goddamnit learn to have support convos more often it is mentioned inigo likes women because when he was little he was affraid and ahy of people, His mom wanted to help him by having him play with girls during his youth. Explains a lot?
Lon'qu has a high love for women so he tries to distance himself from them to keep them safe and keep him from embarrassing himself. Inigo has a high love for women so he pines after them like a train. I love it.
I apologize for being ignorant to this fact I hope that one day you will come to forgive me have a good day sir/madam and please understand this isn't sarcasm im being honest.
Discipline requires an understanding of restraint. Frederick does not have much discipline. He may have a very strong sense of duty and immeasurable endurance, but according to his conversations with Chrom and a few others he doesn't fully understand restraint. Same goes for Walhart. Being super-strong to the point of taking on an entire army by yourself does not denote discipline. He's just massively arrogant, desiring glory in battle over a world of peace.
it's fun watching them together, their both adorable! it's really funny read the supports between lon'qu and inigo, because lon'qu just compares him to lucina and it's fucking hysterical. i imagine lucina laughing in the background.
THANK YOU! I spaced out and skipped through their final conversation without realizing it! I know they're minor and short but I love seeing all of them all the same!
These guys and FeMUxChrom are my otp's! So cute and I love how lon'qu isn't as much of a jerk to Olivia as he is to the other girls. Before anybody says anything I know that he pushes the other girls away because of his gynophobia, but the way he does it comes off as jerkish imo
Actually, anything being canon whatsoever in Awakening is really decided by the player(head canon) as no pairing is official. Referring to the Yarne comment, when I first played Awakening I thought each unit would have different children depending on the father(i.e Olivia and Lon'qu make Inigo but Virion and Olivia make a different child). Only feeding the notion, I thought Inigo looks the most like Lon'qu. Also, considering his genophobia, I think it would be more "canon" as him getting over it with a women, and to me it should be Olivia, since he knew her previously have talked in the past. I think the Sword Play was just the icing on the cake for their relationship.
how the hell is basillio known as the man with the swift sword that can cut through a jar? correct me if i am wrong but i dont think he is that'' tender'' hell. he is always depicted with an axe, so i call bullshit, the warrior class cant even wield swords!
bas r Plot Twist! Basilio was intended to be a Berserker and we all know that Berserkers were a Swordwielding class originally Don't take my rambling too serious.
They wear the same shirt because that's how the game can be like.. That said, it is clear as epic day that these two are the parents of Inigo. His personality falls completely in line with the two people.
Well they've obviously known each other since before the events of the game given they're both close to Basilio and high in the Western Ferox. Hell, Basilio himself probably ships them. (I found a picture like that once)
3:00 - 3:45 - Anyone else getting that "Maybe one day Basilio-senpai will notice me..." impression? 6:04 - 6:20 - All Olivia needs now is some Kamina glasses LON'QU'S IS THE SWORD THAT WILL PIERCE THE WATER FLASK OF THE HEAVENS (tl;dr - Lon'qu gon' make it rain)!
All of Inigo's dads do, but it makes more sense with Lon'qu in my opinion then the others because of how strict his personality. I always think of it as it being because Lucina is the only child character you get canonically. Lucina is also a very good soldier in that everything she does is done to protect her teammates and she is very serious when it comes down to it. Inigo is the exact opposite of this and so the dad would compare them because she is the only one there to compare to
I thought it was extremely good character design when it happened. Inigo being the son of Lon'qu and Olivia made me believe that the father has a significance in what the child would be like. Also doesn't Inigo totally look like Lon'qu anyways? I think this couple was meant to be. :D
If some of the awakening casts were singers I'd name a few some of them might be. 1.Tharja= Lorde 2.Olivia=Ariana Grande 3.Flavia= Beyonce 4. And for the heck of it Lon'qu= Eminem
thejazzhole16 I mean for types of songs, lorde's voice fits Tharja and her type of songs that she sings exhibit strangeness that this and that have in common
I actually think Cherche has the best romantic support for Lon'qu because it tells his backstory of why he is the way he is around women and gives proper closure for it too.
Well backstories can be achieved without getting to the S support. Heck, supports of some characters like Tharja and Cherche reveal backstories of more than one guy. Nothing wrong with staying as good friends.
I think that would be hard unless they have a small cast (and I don't think any FE has a small cast). The problem is that they would have to come up with different things to say for each couple, and there isn't much of a point in not having the S rank in conversations for opposite gender pairs. The fanboys/girls would argue to much. Seriously imagine if Chrom could support with Cordelia only up to A. There is already so much controversy without that added fuel to the fire xD
Spoilers, I got Support B, and I kid you not, right after Basilo fought Walhart. It was like rubbing salt to the wound. Lon qu: I know Basilo well, he’s the strongest man I know. Basilo: Damn, he’s stronger then me. Lon qu: He can never be knocked down. Basilo: He knocked me down! Lon qu: And most importantly, he survived many battles no ordinary man can walk after.
Basilio should have had supports as such... MU, Flavia, Lon'qu, Olivia, Lucina, and Walhart. Hopefully next FE game they don't have a mandatory S rank option or no support for opposite genders that aren't siblings.
YEah but i like how he opened himself up to tharja and explained why he's scared of women. Like wow, he really trusted this girl enough to express that about himself. Like fuuu~ talk about trusting someone. I suppose i could really relate to him in that sense, over olivia where it's like "Hey i believe in you! you can do it!"
This one was cute, but the S support kind of bothered me... knowing from other supports where his fear (really it's a fear of relationships) comes from, the childhood trauma of losing his best friend, it kind of bothers me that Lon'qu just brushes this off as oh, yes, I might be afraid kind of... Sigh
The only other supports where he revealed the reason for his fear of women were with Tharja and Cherche. And honestly it would be boring if every support Lon'qu has with other women involved explaining his childhood trauma. It would also make his character one dimensional. Having different conversations with different people gives players reason for pairing their units different in the game. S support shouldn't be the only end goal for unlocking these conversations.
VideoGameCrazyMan It does because he was originally shy towards woman then Olivia taught him a way to not be shy towards them, which was flirting. And I don't think his fear of woman would be inheritable because it was caused by PTSD
