Yeah, pretty much. I was honestly surprised considering how underwhelming Awakening's soundtrack was. Especially after what we got from Radiant Dawn. That said, the story of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn kind of makes the music that went with them sound better through the lens of context. Of course, those games both had significant flaws in terms of Support. Not that they can be faulted for that in RD, they literally had too many characters.
This song was practically gift wrapped for smash brothers, and all they did was have three different versions of “lost in thoughts, all alone” what the hell?!!
@@realdogking to add salt to the injury they’ll even add the Shigure cover of the song and be like “that’s the Ryoma guy right ? Voiced by Matt Mercer and all”.
If they were so insitant on only using Lost In Thoughts All Alone, they could have at least given us an extended, Garonless version of Azura's Nohr dance!
@@Chosen_Din Probably because they wanted 1 song to represent each game. Roy and Marth get "Together we ride", Lucina and Robin get "Id Purpose", Corrin gets 2 to 3 remixes of "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" and Chrom gets "Destiny (Ablaze) Remix"
A Dark Fall: slow, solemn song that shows how despite ultimately the invasion of hoshido will end the war, its an inevitable road to cross leaving death, suffering and regret Alight: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The mixing and balancing on this is so good. All these varying volumes of instruments but none overpower each other. Stellar job whoever was in charge of that.
1000% agree. Producers should be looking at these guys for inspiration and practice cuz this is gold standard. The fact that it’s u can hear every intricate detail AND hear all the effects in the game at the same time is like peak production!
Legendary Hinoka was announced the other day in Heroes, and this is the song that played in her trailer as well as on her map! They could not have picked a better song for the high-flying lady!
Hoshido was my first family because I loved their designs more than the Nohrian royalty, but the amazing music was an extra added bonus for choosing them!
I like how I started with Conquest because I saw it along the way home from school and I bought it because I was thinking of starting Fire Emblem for the first time
I got birthright first and my friend played conquest at the same time so it was like we played both games together and watched as some of the characters we played as die lol
This theme. This fucking theme. Makes me think of the entire Hoshidan army, Falcon Knights, Master Ninja's, Swordmasters and more charging across the battlefield, with brilliant sunlight behind them!
I wish I could agree. The fucker knew you weren't related the whole time (revealed in either his A or S support) but still tried to guilt trip you into joining Hoshido just to screw the Nohrians over. Rat bastard gaslighted Corrin.
Always thought it had a Okami vibe to it (especially similar to Rising Sun, and also a bit of Kushi's ride and Battle of Orochi), then realized Rei Kondoh composed all four.
The image of Corrin, the Hoshidan royals, and all their allies storming the castle comes to mind during this theme, especially during the part starting from 0:28. Silas fighting his former homeland because his love for his best friend had him switch sides, Felicia and Jakob storming the nation they once called home because they refused to leave Corrin’s side, Shura repaying Nohr for how its treated him, Subaki flying over the walls and dropping off Hana, Rinkah showing the pride of the Flame Tribe, Ryoma, Takumi and Corrin fighting side by side, protected by Hinoka flying overhead and Sakura healing them when necessary. Gods, I love this theme.
Every time I hear 1:46 I sing along with it. Here, try it out, I swear it fits: Sing with me a song Of birthrights and love The light scatters to the sky above Dawn breaks through the gloom White as a bone, lost in thoughts all alone You are the oceans gray waves Destined to seek life beyond the shore just out of reach Yet the waters ever change Flowing like time The path is yours to climb
I desperately need a Fates remake with better story. The premise had so much potential, top it off with music like this and you could get a really outstanding game!
@@CL-os5cz You do realize these games sold almost as well if not better than Awakening and its characters routinely top Japanese popularity polls right? Crying on the internet does not reflect reality.
The premise is fine if you accept Nohr as the villians or just play Revelations. Conquest is only weak because it tries to justify the PCs actions so players won't feel like they made the "wrong" choice.
After forcing myself to play Conquest and fail countless times... Pushing myself to get through Birthright was... Well, fun. Thank you Ryoma, for tearing Nohr a new asshole. The satisfaction I got from a game that wasn't so tight on my resources is... Refreshing.
Yeah I literally put 500 hours into Birthright levelling up the characters and teaching them new skills BEFORE I went to go beat the last boss lol 😂 it was really fun
Mysterium this game needs a reboot with the same music and characters, but with a fresh coat of paint and with same MAJOR plot points but without the dumb shit like; *ahem* Lilith dying for no reason, Corrin not killing Hans sooner in Conquest such as in Cheve, Iago being such a cartoonish villain, expanded on Lilith more in Revelations, the current logic behind the children or at least making it more sensical, Corrin being so unlikeably naive, making Xander’s character consistent between supports and story, NOT saving the Hoshidan royals in Conquest but keeping them prisoner for political gain, making Garon a more grey character so siding with Nohr is more justifiable, scrapping the time-space base because it’s such a lazy way of incorporating a base, not making the Faceless more of an actually scary threat, giving the Faceless backstory, giving more explanation on the Nohrian and Hoshidan family tree, not making the world exciting and feeling connected, making Birthright and Revelations piss easy with lackluster map design overall, giving Hoshido flaws so that the whole theme of grey morality actually applies to Hoshido and Nohr, expanding or at least justifying Camilla’s... everything, making Hinoka and Sakura more interesting, giving Leo more screen time, scrapping the whole plot point of not killing anyone in Conquest, not resorting to Azura’s song as a plot device every second chapter, allowing some way of attaining weapons from the opposite kingdom, and of course allowing for a choice in all routes of the game to include grinding or not (allowing Conquest to be played like Birthright and Revelations, and/or allowing Birthright and Revelations to be played like Conquest) as there’s no real reason this option couldn’t be included for flexibility’s sake. I think I pointed out 21 big flaws in the games. With that being said I had alot of fun in this game. Most of it’s characters are fun and the gameplay and progression in the game, along with the freedom of customisation offered makes this game super satisfying to play. The choreography of the attacks are super goofy and fun to watch, the music is fucking amazing, the pair up mechanic is super neat and my god the hits really convey a sense of impact, which is really difficult to do (Which is done much better than in 3 Houses I might add). Also, bring back the Hoshidan classes in future Fire Emblem games plz. So overall I’d say 3/10 for story: very good original concept. Light vs Dark. Grey morality. Nature vs Nurture. Head vs Heart. But the execution on behalf of the story was cheesy, FULL of plot holes and conveniences and overall just super disappointing. I didn’t care for it by the end game. However gameplay gets an easy 9/10. Only flaws are lack of customisation ability of classes and equipment across different kingdoms and lack of an option for grinding in Conquest. Also making Birthright map design simple with Revelations having too many pointless and annoying gimmicks. However if the best gameplay aspects are taken from each route and counted as one: Difficulty of Conquest, Music and colours of Birthright and variety of items and units of Revelations, you’d have the perfect Fire Emblem game, gameplay wise. At least in my opinion.
'"Ryoma, you take the right. Everyone else, take the left. Mozu... you keep being Mozu. Together, we use the Fire Emblem to challenge our Fates and reclaim our Birthright!". It was at this moment, that I realized, the true Birthright was the friends we made along the way' -Corrin, (Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright)
This song would be like, Ryoma's, but for me it's for Takumi.. well.. Imagine a swordmaster Takumi with daikon radish getting astra and critting on every other blow
After 3 years, I'm ready to take my sword again and finish this game once and for all, I will finally close a chapter of my life I want to forget forever, it’s sad the way I knew about Fire Emblem, but now I can’t regret the past, now I will finally conquer this game
man the 3DS speakers do not do this game justice. Imagine how good a remake of this game on better consoles or PC with some story elements tweaked would be.
This song always take me back to when we were all (impatiently) waiting for fates to get localised (I was part of the the Europe/Australia crowd so had to wait even longer). Always reminded of that trailer “No more Games, To the Death!” And then fates turned out a mixed bag. Conquest still fun tho.
