Firebox 8" pan first use with Nano and Trangia after seasoning

This is a short (long) video of using the Firebox 8" pan after seasoning with 5 layers of flax seed oil. Very happy with the results, it should get better with use. I know that people will be horrified by my cleaning method but that's how I do it.

* I'm glad you _clarified_ that matter 😋 Not just fried eggs, but deep fried eggs, lol 👨‍🍳🥚🍳 I like it 👍 Believe me when I say this, but I have tried to batter, coat and deep fry a frozen stick of butter with unexpected results. I❤Deep Fried everything 🤤❤ Also, I agree with another commenter that you should never put that rubber gasketed lid on the hot Trangia.

I do agree with others about how much ghee was used, but at least you are using your gear. The rest of us are watching you lol. Do you, and thank you for your time making the video.

1) Of course the eggs wouldn’t stick in any kind of pan with 4 tablespoons of butter! 2) Never put out the flame on the Trangia burner using the lid, it will ruin the gasket.

1) It was ghee that I used. I made a few more egg test videos with many fails and less lubrication, lol check it out! 2) Agreed! I learned that the hard way and charred my O ring. I have been using the simmer ring but still freaks me out when I see the tiny flame coming out the tiny hole some time later. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

Keen eye! I did use ghee. I like the nutty flavor and its high smoke point. Its very easy to make. Cheers!

Man the first drop of water the pan was more than hot enough to cook. It don't take long to heat those pans and you use way to much oil or butter I hope you like clogged arteries with all that fat you don't need olive oil is a hole lot better but it looks good
