They need to count how many pulls on each set of plugs and transmission fluid for each vehicle. They would really save a lot of headache. I know the blazer is one of the cheap cars so whatever. Mullet, Ruby, Leroy have all blown a few passes over spark plugs. It would make the tuning easier too. They start trying to tune on bad plugs and get the map all over the place. High horsepower cars kill spark plugs quick. They are disposable.

That new part will fail the same way because it has design falw: Sharp radius in a corner. Number one reason for fatique crack. So if they want a part that will last, they/ motion raceworks should make a better one/ with much larger radius.

Or they just use parts that are beyond fatigued for way to long under extreme conditions.

In this case you have a very typical case: Very thick plate and very stupid design flaw, which maks the part weak. You see that kind of "design" also on numerous youtube channels, where people are just welding stuff together, and if it breaks, they just add thicker plate, but in the end it does not help because the design is stupid/weak.

UNCLE SAM!!! Needs to be given rocket with the American flag blower on it! And coming from hot rod and fab shops I don't know many that would turn him away. He has knowledge, skills, is excited by cars and racing and just seems like a chill dude. It'd be different if it was some guy with nothing to offer but made up stories and who was always there uninvited. I don't know a single shop that would t accept a Sam and be damn proud to have him hangout and talk cars. Maybe tuner shops lol, older dudes only hang their if they're tiny 60 yr old Japanese men chain smoking cigarettes.

I would love to see cleet do a sit down with Sam and interview him I'm sure Sam has some amazing life experiences. I would love to hear his life story. There is just something about Sam that has me really intrigued and wanting to know more about him since cleet does not give out a hole of information about him.

Had a bad injector driver in my new holly. Hydrolocked the fresh Ls. About 10 months ago. They replaced the holly. Not the Ls. Agreed it might not be them. Plug tge old unit back in. See if it sorts the issue. (Mine was also a terminator )

This. Also - they need to make sure they are using the shielded wiring harness that you can get for it. I have installed many, many of the Holley Sniper, Terminator, and Dominator systems and they all seem to be very sensitive to interference. You can't run the crank/cam wiring anywhere near coils, alternators, etc or you will have issues with signal. As crazy as it sounds - I have also had cars with certain shapes of the under hood area be more finicky than others when it comes to interference. Once I started being very particular to how the crank/cam wiring was routed and insulated most of my issues with them went away.

@@theangrymarmot8336 Yep, they definitely seem a bit more sensitive than OEM ECUs. Another hot tip is to completely remove any unused wires from the harness. Alot of the holley harnesses have extra sensors or wires that might not be needed. They can act as an antenna and pick up noise, especially when you just coil them up and tape them out of the way. I believe the dominator has a filter in the software that can be used to adjust the signal sensitivity but I could be wrong.

@@bones_atx6303 The nice thing is Holley sells the "harness" kits where they are unterminated and you can do it all yourself. Usually what I do - especially if it is an oddball setup.

i was thinking maybe tossing a cap in the main 12v system and some smaller caps on more sensitive signaling wires, but a resistor might do the trick also. did you have to adjust the holley at all to deal with the extra resistance?

fuel tanks are behind the driver/passenger seat on a c5~c7 corvette, so rather low risk of eating a leg, but the flying parts if that blew, yeah, much worse damage than just eating a leg..

The flex plate is in the rear of the vette.

Thats A LOT of money to be sitting there. I wonder what the story is. I dont think they ever let Cleetus drive it. I looks clean now, maybe Sam polished her up, but it sat in the corner of his shop for over a year covered in dirt. I would have at least thrown a cover on it for the guy.

I though that noise sounded like a cracked flex plate,,,, or a rattly exhaust. I have seen all sorts of dramas with flex plates over the years, cracked, broken, bolts missing etc. Had a V8 Holden with only one bolt left in. The renmants of the others were laying in the flywheel cover. The nose of the starter was cracked and cracks radiated from the flywheel bolts. Worse he had been driving it for months like that!! Old early hydramatics have a sprung flexplate[like a clutch plate] with a spline in the centre to drive the pump, have seen a heap of those too with all the springs fallen out.

@@ldnwholesale8552 have a whole stack of damaged ones in the shop. Used to oval out the holes on the crank every time we turned on the third stage of nitrous. Hindsight should have sucked it up and got a nice one.

seen that video years ago , it was clutch or flywheel that exploded and killed him. I always remember that exact video when i see anyone stand beside a car on the dyno. I like when James hides when the blazer is on the dyno because he knows it is about to go boom in a spectacular fashion!!
