Welcome to the M0OGY Radio and Antenna Review channel.
In this video I take a look at the soon to be released President Washington Amateur Radio transceiver.
This is their new flag ship radio to join the George II Citizens' Band radio that was released in 2023 (please see my video list for comprehensive review of that transceiver).
Please follow me with my journey with the Washington.
I have to thank GPE in France for their kind help and promptness in sending this radio to England for a pre-launch review.
Please feel free to comment below and maybe subscribe if you like what you see, it helps the channel grow.
Best 73,
Dave M0OGY/26AT025.

Damn I bought a President Washington and had to do the Mod myself. I never knew the Washington had something to do like the mod on the Lincoln2+. And i am NOT talking about soldering in a resistor but putting in a passcode. I received my EU President Washington but it is NOT like the GEORGE II where you get the FM UK bands under mode. NO Sirree it just has FM AM USB and LSB. Or there is something i hsve not seen yet! If there are people here that want to buy a WASHINGTON let the dealer do your mod. The dealer is obliged to do the 11 meter CB band mod for you before you get one, otherwise you just get a 10 and 12 meter transceiver and would not be handy if you are not someone with a HAM licence! Pay the extra 10 dollars euro or pounds and let the dealer of your radio do the mod! I highly recommend the WASHINGTON. Thank DAVE M0OGY for the reviiew. Best 73's.

Hi what psu is recommended? I can't fund any info on that
@m0ogy

You need a good quality regulated one designed for Amateur Radio use. As this is capable of producing 80 watts plus of output power, you really need a 25/30 amp PSU to give you some head room. I run a Microset 35 amp with this radio, but any decent brand will do, just don't try anything under 20 amp output Cheers Dave 🙂

@johnharrison373
@johnharrison373 Месяц назад
@@m0ogyI think you'll find that the internals are the same as many CRT, TTI, PNY, Anytone etc. Not that I'm saying they're bad. The only difference is the software and appearance. I do admit that the President range do look better, but electronically, they are the same. All have the jumper that extends the frequency range when moved and all have the wire loop facility that is removed for Amateur use only.
@m0ogy
@m0ogy Месяц назад
@@johnharrison373 I'll let you know my final thoughts on this. President use the same manufacturer who's own brand is Anytone, you are correct. I'm not sure if TTI or PNY use them (I think not). President design their own products and have some of the best European Engineers coming up with great radios such as this. Whilst the DNA in radios such as the upcoming Anytone AT666PRO is shared, these radios have a similar PCB but are always branded President, if no one believes me, check previous videos. This radio does not have the white wire or jumper system as it is certified as an Amateur Radio, thus (I assume) seeking FCC approval for American use. We all know the market these radios are really aimed at. Thanks for your input Dave M0OGY/26AT025.
