First Take discusses Jerry Krause and the Bulls' dynasty 

Ultimately it was Jerry Reinsdorf's fault..He allowed Krause to dismantle the Bulls dynasty..plain and simple..

When your best player (MJ) publicly says he will not play for anybody else other than Phil Jackson, and you publicly state Jackson will not return, you deserve all the criticism.

To this day, Reinsdorf is the reason the Bulls have never been able to sign an A list free agent post dynasty. Everyone took note of how he did not take care of Scottie.

Krause was the most brilliant idiot I’ve ever seen. He had such an eye for Role players but had the illusion that he could at any time find another MJ and Pippen.

Jay is right, it was a classic move by the owner to let GM do what he ordered so that the blame falls on GM not the owner. Listen to what and how he says things in the documentary, obviously he was aware and approved everything, if not designed.

The way in which Jerry Krause, and ultimately Jerry Reinsdorf, dismantled the Bulls ensured they would not get back to a championship caliber franchise for years. They treated their players poorly, they treated the head coach poorly, and showed that they didn't really care about winning. As a result, it makes it impossible to sign super star free agents/free agents to help you get over the hump and win a championship. Free agents would rather play for a franchise that treats its players well.

Great point about Reinsdorf. He had the final say and is now controlling the narrative. Guy never cared about the Bulls.

Everyone says Reinsdorf was a bad owner, but as a Chicago fan, I always appreciated his personal loyalty to players. Yes, he was a tough negotiator and a lot of players left on bad terms, but many of them come back to Chicago after the wounds healed. Scottie left in infamous fashion, but he came back to finish his career there and got paid to be an ambassador and advisor in his post-playing days. Reinsdorf also hired former players like Pete Meyers, Bill Cartwright, and Randy Brown to coaching positions, and had BJ in the front office. And, of course, his loyalty to Paxson went well-beyond reasonability.

If the gm got a ego just as big as the players then theirs a problem

To me I think the person to be blamed the most for the end of what could've been a dynasty still as the 2000s entered is the owner Jerry Reinsdorf. He gave all of the power to Jerry Krause to do what he pleases to which Jerry Reinsdorf could've stepped in and fix all of the issues knowing the Bulls could've been still successful if MJ, Pip, Rodman and Phil stayed. Rodman was heading into his twilight years yes, but look at his stats when he joined the lakers. Rodman was still grabbing double digit rebounds consistently and when Pippen went to Portland after his stint with Houston, he helped them reach the conference finals and no doubt MJ would still be in his best shape cause he is MJ the 🐐. The owner for me is much to be blamed with the GM having partially to be blamed

Yet if we still talk about this team and it’s players, you know (if you saw them back then) how special they were. Anyone who didn’t see them play or young enough to know (RU-vid videos don’t count) how special that team was, missed out something special. The nbc coverage and commercials and newspapers headlines. It’s not overhyped like today’s watered down game where you can’t touch anybody and everyone so sensitive. It was such An amazing time for basketball back then. organizations have a hand in putting up team players, but Krause's problem is that he micromanaged the Bulls which is not good. For him to lockhorns with MJ, dismiss Pippen, and cross Phil Jackson that was personal to him and it led to his undoing. The most important question there is where was Krause with the Chicago Bulls now after MJ left?

We need to learn the feelings of each other to full-fill the good faith and giving each other especially to love each other. That is the key of success to get the titles....

In ANY SPORT.. the coaches, the front office can only do so much, but when it's time to execute, it's always down to the players.. that's why when mj, did what he did after that last dance, the owners and the front office started to change. They started to treat the players right.

Had the Bulls stayed together they would have won the 99 championship because that was a shortened season. Great first 2 episodes last night. MJ smoking cigars and drinking a glass of bourbon was epic. He's so cool. MJ and Pippen wasn't a Batman and Robin duo. It was basically Batman and another Batman on the same team.

Krause was a good gm, Pippen-Grant-Kukoc were great and essential picks for the dynasty, as was the Rodman trade and some other. And in the end its the owner, who has to step in, when the gm loses his mind.

Reinsdorf should of restructured Pippens deal after 3 years and it would of panned out differently. You see restructured deals All the time and Pippen is a player worth doing that for.
