4:01 - LOL Nick tries to say that Purdy didn’t play well in the Super Bowl, but realizes saying that would mean he’s underrating the Chiefs defense, so he’s flustered & then says he doesn’t want to talk about the Super Bowl (even tho he brought it up lol)
Do you think he played well in the playoffs? If any other quarterbacks played as bad as he did throughout the playoffs we would roast them and for some reason this kid gets a pass because he was the last pick in the draft
@@velder22 He gets a “pass” bc he played well when it mattered & got the win against Packers & Lions. And in the Super Bowl, he played a good game & didn’t make any costly mistakes (against a top KC defense), so not sure how he gets a negative mark for his postseason performance?
@@velder22 If you take out any of the costly mistakes or bad luck (the CMC fumble, the muffed punt, the missed FG, Dre Greenlaw injury), they likely win the game. So I think he played good enough to have won 🤷♂️ Sure, he missed some throws, but not like Mahomes’ Super Bowl performances have all been perfect. Between him & Brock, Mahomes was the only one that turned the ball over.
@@klardfarkus3891 I agree but when top teams play against each others top QB brings something more on the table. I still believe Niners would have won SB with better O-Line which had collapsed in overtime leaving Purdy as a clean target for the Chiefs defense. Just watch their last attack in SB where O-Lineman without allowed pressure on Purdy who had to get rid of the ball half a second early, if he had that half a second Niners would have scored TD and game would have been won no matter Chiefs had last chance to score TD on the other side. I can`t understand how is possible in such a moment such a mistake by single O-Lineman who was watching his man pressuring Purdy totally free from beginning of the action ? Behind great O-Line even average QB could look amazing sometimes, Dak Prescot is living proof of it
bro the niners as a unit are chokers not just purdy lol 😂 kyle shannahan is the best regular season coach but guy can’t win a super bowl if his life was on the line he has been to three super bowls all lost 😂
One guy was in contention for MVP, went to OT in the Super Bowl, and set franchise records for a team that had Joe Montana. The other is 40 and coming off of an Achilles tear.
Well those are some selective stats lol Purdy set those records with a roster that has more talent than any Rodgers has played on. You might say the 2010-2011. But let’s be real, Green Bay’s Defense in those years couldn’t touch the current 49ers defense. Not saying Purdy is bad, but let’s keep the context when it’s due. This is a prove it year for both of them. And when that talented offense shrinks for Purdy, it will be a prove it year again to show it wasn’t the talent around him.
@UngluedBanjo so what Purdy has a better roster that furthers my point. Rodgers doesn't have nearly as much in his favor going into this season. Also, Brock didn't have a Jerry Rice like Montana and Young or an Owens like Garcia when breaking thoae records. The facts are that he is ascending while Aaron is aging and coming off injury. His prove it season was this past year when he was named the starter and they traded Lance. How is anything I said out of context when you measure what each did last year to see how they do this year.
Exactly. Rodgers is questionable. He could have a good year but we don’t know as Achilles injuries are no joke. Purdy on the other hand will likely be even better than last year.
Nick needs to go. His takes on Purdy are beyond bad. Purdy outplayed Mahoems for most of the entire game, against the far superior defense. If not for Chris Jones, Mahoems does not win that SB and it is not even close.
Idk why this isn’t brought up for context when they talk about the stats. I mean if they said “we haven’t seen a healthy Rodgers in 2 years and he’s 40 coming off a serious injury. I have a hard time believing he’s going to be healthy and/or successful with these factors, regardless of the roster.” I’d be like, ok. But the lack of genuine context makes me doubt the opinion of anyone who can’t acknowledge it’s existence because it doesn’t support their argument.
It’s literally like every single one of the analysts I see whether it be these guys, first take, etc they all seem to just leave out the fact in 2022 he was playing with a broken thumb on his throwing hand the entire year lmao
@@vellebechillinI guess they over look his injury because everybody so use to him putting up big numbers in previous years while being injured like against the bears when he hurt his knee then came back & lead a 4th quarter comeback to win the game, & another time when he won MVP in 2014 he had a calf strain I think it was something with his leg though
Rodgers has never had less than 25 TDs in any season that he played at least 16 games. If hes healthy.. a motivated, excited Rodgers with a full compliment of offensive weapons is going to cook. Idgaf how old he is.
@@kelleywilson141 they have a new OL and a QB w a Achilles injury and they’re facing the best DL in the NFL. The best LB duo in the NFL and an offense that’s versatile and was putting up 30+ regularly. Niners own Rodger’s on top of that, jets are cooked
@@Username-hd1co I don't think j your dline is better or your linebackers are better than the jets. Q as all pro, johnson pro bowler and then they added all pro Reddick. Mosley was all pro and quincy williams was even better than him but didn't get the accolades. Sauce is the best in the league, DJ reed is close to pro bowler and Michael Carter is a phenomenal slot corner. You might wanna look it up if you don't believe m.
@@BrayanArias-fg2gsyou haven't looked at the jets roster like the rest of the world. It's stacked. Best jets team in my 28 years as a jets fan. Every position is stacked except safety.
First rational discussion they’ve had about the Jets in MONTHS. I actually enjoyed this Jets debate for once. They all admitted/acknowledged their bias against the Jets which is very important context to this debate. They all tried to put bias aside for this debate for once and I, for one, am appreciative of it.
Rodgers can have opinions and interests outside of football. Dude was tripping his balls off during the offseason and wins an MVP But talking shit on a podcast means he’s not focused lol
I literally fast forward thru nick takes on certain subjects cuz I just don't care for the hate or blatant bias. It gives me much comfort. Lol. Rodgers and chiefs takes being two of them. Skip! Deleted! 😆😆
Everyone needs to understand that Rodgers speaks his mind and it often goes against A LOT of these mainstream employees and their puppet masters operation. So, they have to go after him on their platforms. Everyone forgets that Rodgers in 2022 was playing with two rookie receivers and broke his finger early mid season. I hope the achilles is well and holds up, I now actually cheer for this dude to silence all of these frauds.
I can’t believe I’m saying this Nick but I agree with you 100% about Aaron Rodgers. You don’t talk politics and all the BS stuff that will affect the locker room. You are 100% right why do you think Green Bay got rid of them they had enough of his BS.
Nick doesn't like that he talks about politics because he doesn't agree with his politics. I'm sure Nick was posting a black square in 2020 and loving LeBron James speaking out at the time. Has no problem with that and I'm sure vibes with it. Of all the people on this show he's the one I would have put my life savings down that he is a mainstream corporate puppet that goes along with whatever the left wing talking points are.
Nailed it he loves all the social justice shit the NBA guys do but has a problem with Rodger’s saying some shit and frames it as “ any touchey subject is bad”
He always says the nfl doesn't like (insert whatever current rodgers narrative is)then the nfl gives jets 6 prime time games and he throws a fit. You are not the majority, I call you nick "never" wright, then there is joy "purposeless porpoise" taylor, and colin "last name is an understatement" cowturd. I understand analysts have favorite teams just like everyone else, but I also remember when facts were a part of sports broadcasting vs loaded personal opinionated overly bias takes. There is a reason yall don't have jobs on espn or nfl network.... why is fs1 the only network that brings up AR 2022 season and doesn't mention the fact his thumb was fractured? Why do you all criticize hackett, when he's essentially the same thing as Gase, and colin said "jets fans are dopes they don't know anything. This is a great hire." Talking about Gase?? Or how you neglect to recognize the fact that rodgers has 6 season with better td-int % than any season of any qb in the league. or how josh allen only has 27 less int in his career than rodgers has in his career? Yall lie, numbers dont.
AR’s magic on the field is behind him. He’s less mobile than earlier years, not as accurate, and new defensive schemes can strategize game plans to get after him. His experience is a big plus but won’t be enough.
The reason why I like this show is because sometimes their takes are so crazy and the bias is so obvious, that I just take it as 3 friends talking about football with eachother.
I think the 49ers will win but i think it could be close. The Jets D is a lot like KCs last year. 3 outstanding cornerbacks. Im not going to bank on the 49ers blowing the Jets out unless Rodgers is awful
@@imadocsbroyo ok but he made so many plays outside of the structure and hella things we never saw with jimmy G. Even with all those all pros u put jimmy in those situations and it’s a sac or pick or he throws it away. There’s not scrambling after the play breaks down he’s not looking for 3rd and 4th options against the blitz.
I can’t wait for rodgers to absolutely fucking posterize nick and wildes this season. Bro will easily be in the mvp convo this season. Rodgers last “healthy” season they keep referring too, he had a broken thumb From week 4 on, he didn’t even want to be there and the packers just sucked ass too.
Why does Rodgers having options make you not like him Nick ? Lol . Kelce has a podcast and is on shows . It’s because Rodgers isn’t a woke media puppet
Nick clearly hates his “attitude” simply because he isn’t afraid to share his opinions and his beliefs and people automatically assume you’re a terrible person for that alone. Nick is fake asf
They're not on there talking about hot button divisive issues...that's his whole point. It's not about Rodgers having a podcast, it's about him purposely kicking hornet nests to get attention and that can have a real effect on the locker room
@@abezzzy121 Kelce does talk about hot button issues, it's cuz Rodgers is a conservative and Kelce is liberal and nick is liberal, and nobody on the Jets cares cuz he's Aaron Rodgers and he doesnt talk about the team, everyone has a pod, including nick, who again talks about hot button issues, nick simply doesnt like the jets and rodgers, rodgers thru for 3700 yards, 25TDs/12ints in his last healthy year, if jets had him that year they would of been 12-5 cuz our defense held teams to an average of 17 and that's with zack willson at QB, not mention Mahomes had his worst game last year vs the Jets, had 4 INTs, and were one call away from losing to zach wilson, so expecting unbias takes from nick is not something u are gona ever get
@@ish-rr8cx what hot button issue have they discussed on their podcast? Don't worry I'll wait. And you have absolutely 0 idea of what the Kelces political affiliation is. Red pill crowd love being perpetual victims. Doesn't it ever get tiring always heading him whining about how everybody's such a meanie? Maybe, just maybe the reason everyone that has worked with Aaron doesn't like him is....(Drumroll) he might just be a tool and that has nothing to do with politics? FYI 2 things can be true. Aaron is an all time great, and an all time great choke artist. Or that he's a first ballot HOF QB no doubt, but he's 40 coming off of a major injury and in decline. If Aaron wasn't "conservative" most of the ppl that stan for him would call him for what it is, a grade a diva. And fwiw there is not a conservative bone in Aaron's body and to label him as such is an insult to Reagans and Lincolns legacy
I don't think there would be any arguments from jets players if sf wanted to trade practice fields. As long as they were willing to swap Levi and met life fields in exchange 🤣
Goff and many other playoff contender QBs have the actual Avengers that they think Purdy has. People talk about the 49ers like they do Trevor Lawrence and assume they're some generational talent because that's the narrative, but that's only on paper and in theory and there are big flaws to their game.
@@ALLDAYEVERYDAYKIM the way you comment on Purdy is starting to make me think you are a Purdy hater and probably think Trey Lance wasn’t given a fair chance.
@@aaronsondag8347 What I am doing and telling you that there's a number of guys who could do what he could do with this team Jimmy G proved that it's on film it's on paper. He is not a special talent. He's a good player. No more, no less. And if that's a hater then call me a hater for my franchise that I cheer for. I want someone who is transcending talent. I don't have to settle this ain't the best it could get. I've seen this franchise win many times over before Brock was an itch in his daddy's pants. I'm just saying until you get one of the top dudes in the way the league is today. You're not winning a Super Bowl! I'm sorry you're not unless you're QB cheap with a ton of talent around you or that QB is one of the top dogs and can carry anyone. If you're not one of those two things, you're not winning a Super Bowl. Stats show you that.
What Aaron talks about and believes has nothing to do with football and no one is going to be upset about that. Also, the fact that you think it's controversial just shows how much more intelligent than you he is.
Wow Brock purdy is done come on man he is from Iowa state cyclone to 49ers back up to starter injuries in nfc championship against eagles 2nd place in superbowl. Say that. It's ⚾ season
Rodgers was already showing signs of fading before he joined the Jets. He's coming off a pretty serious injury, is 41 and hasn't played a full game in 2 years. Don't see him having a good year
He had a broken thumb on his throwing hand last season in gb Wirth rookie wrs and lazard was his number 1. It's just laughable people don't see this. He had 26 tds with that.
I didnt know jan 8th 2023 was 2 years ago.... crazy I thought it was may 15 2024... 🤦♂️ Seriously, what did aaron rodgers do to yall to make you spite him so much?!?
Game is about matchups that jets defense is going to be good against them nobody to block big Q inside and there dbs can play with them but it’ll be a great one
In the playoffs yess. Regular season no, Rodgers has won 6 games out of 9 against San Fran in regular season games. In those 9 games he had a 20 td to 2 int ratio and 2600 passing yards…..
Saying that he doesn’t like athletes talk about politics is ducking crazy. He doesn’t like athletes talking about political things he disagrees with. Does he say this when Lebron goes crazy? Of course not because he agrees with those politics.
I really believe Brady was either doing steroids for recovery or stem cell injections to stay great until his mid forties- Rodgers won’t last the season or if he does he will be playing well outside his prime
The Jets suck. I am a fan of the Team. But, they have a history of stupid decisions. They, The Jets, earned everyone's and anyone's doubt at the least and their disgust at the most.
Nick just a big ol dummy😂 Didn't give credit to purdy in the superbowl nothing special about him but 2nd year coming off an injury and put up a better fight than 2 time mvp winner. Also I doubt any one cares what rodgers says. He's been like this for years they still gonna love him. Sadly in this league as long as ur a winner u can beat multiple women and still have people cheering for u
Whats is the tangible difference between Nick Wrights take on Rodgers comments regarding hot button social/politcal issues and Laura Ingrahms "shut up and dribble"?
Having an opinion and advocating for that position is one thing, having a recurring slot to air perceived grievances every week is a bit much. I don't get how the "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" types can stomach Rodgers whiney snowflake act. It's weird
@@abezzzy121 I dont get why the "its all a bit much" people give a shit about what he says on someones podcast. Its hilarious because the years before he started doing media w/ McAfee, they said he was standoff-ish and aloof. Now he talks too much.. lol Not to mention, Wrights entire job is to talk on tv and give his opinions, but when Rodgers does it... its a problem.
@@jring383 it's not about him having an opinion, it's about him purposely diving into hot button issues and kicking the proverbial hornets nest, over and over. He's self aggrandizing and needs the attention, which is why he chooses to speak on controversial issues unprovoked because he understands no one would pay any attention to him if he didn't. For him it's by design and to Nick's point, it can cause locker room distractions. Honestly, I don't care about Aarons political leanings and I'd say me and him fall in the same spectrum but that doesn't change the fact that he's an entitled grade A diva who loves to play the victim and whine constantly. Which to me is antithetical to the entire movement. There's a reason why the majority of people that have worked with or around Aaron don't have a favorable opinion of him and it's not his stances, it's because he's a finger pointing whiney tool. At some point when everyone you deal with has the same issue with you, as a man you have to look in the mirror and accept that maybe you're the problem. Helluva a ball player though
@@abezzzy121you clearly eat these media created narratives up. This idea that he’s so despised by his teammates is a complete myth. He has 2-3 people who have publicly had an issue with him and the vast majority of his former teammates are clearly very close friends with him. Jennings, Finley, Driver are the only 3 people who’ve ever had a negative thing to say about him. But everyone ignores the fact that he’s Cobbs kids godfather, bffs with Bahktiari, Jordy Nelson, Devante Adams, Lazard, AJ Hawk, Mercedes Lewis, MVS just recently shot back publicly against the diva narrative. The only ones who can ever seem to find issue with him are largely people who have zero direct interactions with him. (Wright, Bayless, Cowherd, etc)
Nick has a problem with Rodgers because they both talk stupid shit, are wrong about 90% of the time, AND Rodgers actually had athletic talent. Nick has a problem with Purdy because every take he has on him is included in that 90%. Purdy laughing all the way to the bank, NFL history, and possibly a Super Bowl MVP someday. Nick 3rd rate
Dude, two years ago, which is NOT that long ago, he won back-to-back MVPS, and recorded two of the best QB years EVER! Let's face it, Nick and this other bozo are just woke leftists, which is wh they MUST go against Rodgers. They are really not worth listening to, unless you want comedy.
Nick weight is being such a fascist. People can’t freely express opinions? Adults can deal with that, there was a time in america when Americans enjoyed discussions over differing opinions, why can’t we return to that?
Thank you Nick. I've been saying the same thing. Nick said Brock could have won that game 3 separate times, I saw 2, but I'll agree with 3. 9ers need a better QB1.
